Given that most of you guys are Nissan nuts, this website might interest you somewhat.

ITs the official website of the new GTR prototype, which I might add is being released quite soon....
Enjoy!

So then back from my latest trip and have some pictures.
I flew into Oakland, CA at about 11:00 AM Tuesday and picked up a Ford F150 that had been owned by a rental company. It was in pretty good shape for a stripped down rental truck except it hadn't been used in a while so the battery was almost dead. However as a stripped down, flat white F150 it lacked a defining image so I dressed it up a bit:
http://img419.imageshack.us/img419/5526/picture007alt9kt.th.jpg (http://img419.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture007alt9kt.jpg)
Anyway, like I said, it didn't do half bad for a old rental:
http://img419.imageshack.us/img419/5605/picture011alt0cb.th.jpg (http://img419.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture011alt0cb.jpg)
About 1 am Wednesday morning I stopped at a rest area about an hour outside Phoenix, AZ. I had to laugh when I looked at the tires because they were pitted and scuffed up like you might see on a set of race tires. Slept til about 5 am and rolled into Phoenix, dropped off the F150 and picked up this:
http://img419.imageshack.us/img419/7615/picture014alt1lh.th.jpg (http://img419.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture014alt1lh.jpg)
Izuzu NPR with a refer box on the back. Had been owned by "Bobs Bait and Tackle" according to the decal outlines on the side. At least it didn't smell like fish.
In case you didn't know, just like the entire Midwest, there is no reason to go to Arizona.

There was actually a big circle of almost exactly same height cactus with a few really big ones in the center. Think Stonehenge. That's ****in weird.
Okay, there might be a reason to go if you have the right type of transportation.

The first time this NSX passed me I couldn't tell what it was because it was moving at about Warp 8. The NPR was pretty stout through the wind but the NSX put off such a shockwave I thought the truck got hit by something.
Anyway, I booked ass from Phoenix all day and made it to LA by 3:30 pm, in time to pick up some side rails and head boards a steel fabrication place had made up for another truck. Considering that I left Phoenix at 9:00 AM, thats 375 miles in 6 1/2 hours in a 135hp four banger refer truck that could hit 65 at best. I kick ass.

It looked sweet in person.
Stopped just north of Sacramento Wednesday night and got about five hours of sleep before getting on the road again. Truck was running fine for about 200 miles then I stopped for fuel. When I left the gas station it wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd (4 speed auto trans). I had to push it to redline in 1st and back off to drop it into 2nd. Okay fine. Except out on the high way it wouldn't shift into 4th (overdrive). Pull off at a gas station and put some fluid in it. Doesn't help. Put some more in it. It's definately full now because it is coming out of the overflow tube. Still doesn't fix the problem. Now it's shifting out of gear into neutral when stopped and won't engage again. Call around for a dealership (the truck had 198k on it but the engine only had 30k, trans was replaced at some time previous) because we were told it had a two year warranty after the engine was replaced a year and a few months ago. Now they are saying it was a year warranty and the nearest dealer is 400 miles away anyway. So get it towed into Redding, CA into Aamco. While I'm waiting around for the truck to get looked at I see this:
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/8027/picture032alt0re.th.jpg (http://img405.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture032alt0re.jpg)
Seriously, how disabled could they possibly be?
Anyway, this is what was in the pan when it was dropped.
http://img428.imageshack.us/img428/9951/picture025alt1uc.th.jpg (http://img428.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture025alt1uc.jpg)
For the uninformed, trans fluid is red. And thats about a 3/4" thick build up of metal shavings around the magnet in the bottom. There is so much metal in there that it is over capacity on the magnet and floating free in the bottom of the pan, the fluid is just too burnt to see it.
Anyway, so I hop a Greyhound back to Sacramento, sleep at the airport before a 8:40 AM flight that got me back to Seattle at about 11:00.
It's been a long couple of days but interesting enough and the four digit paycheck was worth it.

Sounds like fun, Broke. I love road trips and big adventures like that. I'm going on a miniature one of my own a little later today, actually...3 hrs and some change up to Fort Wayne Indiana. And...for the uninformed...I HATE Indiana. Something about that damned state just...kinda...weirds me out. Indiana and Georgia. They both kinda creep me out.
I used to live in So Cal (about a half hour from Palm Springs...waaaaaaaaay down in the dirt...born there and lived there for 13 years) and I can personally vouch for the fact that there's not much to see there while driving on the freeways. Me and my family used to drive to Las Vegas and Phoenix all the time. I have family in Phoenix and...well...Vegas is...Vegas...it just rules all...one of the, if not THE, coolest cities in the world. It was about a 4 hr drive to Vegas, I think, and it was pretty miserable. I do remember a couple things that were really cool along the way, though. The coolest part of it was the World's Largest Thermometer. Keep in mind that this was in the middle of the fucking desert, so it was always pretty interesting to see how blisteringly friggin hot it is outside. There was also a bunch of life sized dinosaurs that we'd pass. They had a few small windows in them so I guess you could go inside them...I dunno. Other than that, the desert is pretty boring.
But...NOTHING is more boring than Texas. Drove through the panhandle, which is the little part...couldn't IMAGINE driving through the meat of it...and it seemed to take days. The worst thing about it is that it's COMPLETELY FUCKING FLAT. If anyone ever wanted to learn how to fly a plane, GO THERE. If you HIT anything, you SUCK!

Yeah, the swap will cost about $2,500-$3,200 to perform. I'd suggest just going with an LS/GSR Transmission swap, one can be had for just a shade over $1,000.
Well, I just ordered my Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator for the Lazer, after that I need to figure out how to work with -6AN line and fittings (It's a Bitch, so I've heard). Then I just need a good tune, and I'm running 26psi safely. Look for 11's Bitches! :evillol:

And LLTZ... The car pulls as hard as an Air Plane, it's amazing. Raced a GTO last night, here's a fun little story.
Me and my buddy Tim were at a get together at our friend's house, and got a call from his girl friend (She's never in town) and he wanted to go hang out with her. So I gave him a ride there, and headed back to the party... All of the sudden this new GTO comes hauling us up next to me, and starts jumping the front end up.
So he takes off, and I let him get about a car length on me... I look at the S-AFC and watch the Throttle Possition go up... 20%-40%-60%-100%... I was at full boost by 40% Throttle... I catch up to him in under a second, and start pulling on him by 4 car lengths.
We let off and we come to the stop light ahead, and my car shuts off (Damn Cams). He's looking at me like he just got beat by a POS Lazer... Oh wait, he did.
I cut the car back on (The idle is crazy sounding... I'll post a video of it), and he just shakes his head and turns off.
God it feels good to have a fast sleeper. It's even more fun getting weird looks when I'm filling up with 110octane at the gas station. Ooooh if they only knew how bad they'd get beat. :)

That Front Mount is awesome looking without the front bumper on... Seriously, it goes up to the headlights, no joke. Oh, and I didn't bother to clean the bird Shit off it, it just kind of blends in.

Don't worry... It's going in for paint this week. Black roof from the pillars up, and grey or silver paint for the main body accent.

Not a bad car for the price though.

S-AFC is an Apexi Air-Fuel controller. i beat a turbo civic last night :) after i beat him, he swore up and down that i had a Twin Turbo Z. he said that he thought he could easily take a N/A Z.
Must have been one Shitty set-up... I've ran Naturally Aspirated Zed32s with my "stock" Shitvic.

I've heard of the S-AFC. Thought that's what it was. What's it do, though?
I like the fugly little car, though...it's fast and no one would think it was. That's cool to me. One of the main draws to the Z31...cheap, can be made fast for cheap and no one thinks it will be fast cuz it's kinda old.
I'd like to get an old TSi, but I've heard they're about as reliable as the stock market during Bush's reign.

That's the same thing I said.
And Delerious, you'd be proud of me tonight man. My buddy and I were cruising around in the Lazer, just looking for some Ricers to Fuck with. When out of no where this 6 Cylinder Convertable Hunter Green Shitstain with Chrome wheels comes flying up on me hard. I charge up and shoot some Super Sequential at him. His response? He flicks on his GREEN NEON UNDERGLOW. My buddy says "Oh God, here it comes" tightens his seat belt and grabs the "Oh Shit" handle.
He drops down and starts pulling a tad... Hup, 40% Throttle, 16psi and I pull away by a few... Bus lengths. Hahahahahahahaha
He pulls up next to us at the light, and cuts his Neons off, and wouldn't even look over, God it was Fucking priceless. I need to start carrying my camera in the Lazer from now on.

dont worry wes...that neon underbody glow kit happened to be on the same switch that arms the nitrous system.
i have said it once and ill say it again "Six Cylinder Mustangs are like the arpit of the car industry".
as for that Z31 with chromies...i can't really tell if its completely slammed or not but if it wasnt for the wheels it would be one clean Z31. and yes, Z's should not be slammed...lowered is ok, slammed = no. light trucks are made for slamming, not cars that actually perform.
AHHHHHH!!!! White Sox to the World Series Bitches!!! go Chicago

Delerious... Run some thorough tests on it first. If it's in decent shape, by all means do it! When it comes to engines though, I'm the type of guy who would rather spend the extra $1,500 to buy it from a well known, well run company that stands behind their products.
But Hell, for $1,000, you can't beat that. Make sure it's H22, and not H23 though, that would suck.

Uhhh... Not a good deal. I thought you were talking about the swap, not just the engine. That's not a good deal... At all.
Going to look at this beast sometime this week... It's not too far away. I've always wanted a Slicktops. Yeah, $1,000 for just the engine isn't good... Then you're looking at $450 for a decent H-Series Transmission, I'd say about $200 in miscellanious Shit, from the sounds of how he describes the engine. Another $200-$250 for the P14 ECU. Another $450-$600 for the mounts, and $250-$400 for axels depending on which direction you want to go. So it's not so cheap anymore, if you see what I mean.
So I was thinking today. I've got my Auto Crosser. I've got my "Go fast in a straight line" car... I think it's time to get a nice looking cruiser again. Found that Slicktops on Autotrader, called the guy and asked "Is the car sold?" *crossed fingers* to which he replied "No sir"... YES! :D
"Are you entertaining any serious offers as of now?" he replied "I've gotten a few offers, but none serious."
I told him that's all I needed to know for now, and I'd be back with him tomarrow. I may try and sprint up for a quick look tomarrow after work, and after I get plates for the Lazer.
But his asking price is a bit jacked up, considering Blue Book is ONLY $4,600 for that car. If it's in as good of condition as he claims, I'll offer him $5,200 max bid.
Hopefully this guy will bite. I miss having a nice looking car to go cruising around in.

The 300zx looks good Wes, but I personally wouldnt get a slicktop.
I know that the rest of you love them because of the whole less weight, better rigidity thing but personally I doubt I would push my car hard enough to notice those 2 things. And you just said that you wanted to cruise in it so I doubt those 2 benefits will come into play that much.
Personally, I would much rather be able to take my roof off in Summer and cruise down the freeway looking kool :p

My buddies shop had one a while ago that we sold for $1,600... B18B Engine, GSR Transmission, Crower 404 Camshafts (FUCKING BADASS!), axels, mounts everything. It would drop right into a 92-95 Civic.
Anyway, I'll do some scanning for you, and I'll let you know.
And Yaggus... I don't care, I just want another Zed. Don't want a Twin Turbo, yet. I think IF I get this Zed, I'll concentrate on aesthetic appeal first.
-Full '99 Spec JDM exterior
-Leather interior, and get the tweed interior panels pulled out, and done in Italian Leather (Yes, VERY expensive, but God it can't be beat).
-Bronze NISMO LM-GT4 (Once again... Expensive as Hell)
-New paint all the way around, have it looking it's best inside and out.
Then, I may go Twin Turbo. Like I said, this car isn't going to be beaten on, it's going to be the striking car that catches your eye in a clean way. Not like the Lazer, not like the Shitvic, but like a Zed. :evillol:
We'll see, it all depends on if this guy is going to take my offer or not.
