what year 951 was it, becuase the later models had like 280/290 horse, but the earlier models had like 230...
ohh and Jared, those pants would look better on my bedroom floor... :icon16:
j/k, is that your lady friend btw???
i think the 89's had 250hp, no?
i obviously didnt have the oppurtunity to drive an 89 because they are rare and VERY costly.
and those pants are very nice, my GF works at a woman's fitness center so i get to see those almost everyday.

the 89 951 may have been tested in that article that LLZ read now that i think about it. i bet the 89 would be an even run for the Z32TT either beating each other out by a very minimal margin.

It was an 89. They were comparing the last year of the 944 to the first year of the Z32. They said neither won the drag race or on the track. They were both just different. DAMN I wish I could find that article.

Ok...does anyone else have this happen?
Every once in a while (every couple DAYS), I stop getting my e-mail notifications. When I look at my in box more than once or twice a day and don't see any notifications from AF, I know either A) the site's down...again...or B) the thing's fucked up my subscriptions again.
Anyone else have this problem?

i dont know if any of you guys have heard this yet, but i thought it was pretty interesting because that plane flew out of my work. i remember the passengers walking by me and laughing and everything, its weird to think about that just a few hours ago, the same people that i saw laughing are now dead. and this is nothing new to me, a year ago from this month, a plane that took off out of my work crashed and killed 3-4 people (cant remember exact number). and right before they took off, i talked to the pilot and everything. thought i would share this, it kind of freaks me out.

yeah, i have a buddy that is a paramedic and he see's some pretty sick shit but it doesnt bother him anymore because he has seen so much sickening and cruel things in his life. he said the craziest thing to watch/listen to is showing up to a car accident where the car is on fire and all you can do is listen to the screams of the person that is burning alive...
i work with a guy that is a liscenced mortician that he does on the side and we are bored we all sit down and listen to stories of his. now he has some sick and twisted stories and that is definitely a job i could never do. totally insane the things he has seen and done...but he talks about it like it is nothing and it doesnt bother him. pretty freaky stuff....from people that have been dead for a while lifting stright up from the waist when he is trying to sow their lips and eyes shut. or someone flinching a toe while he is putting socks on them....absolutely freaky. horror movie type shit as he states.

It's like people thought "well...they won't go over 85 if they don't now how fast they're going once they go past that! Yea! That'll work!!" Dumb fucks.
I kinda wish they'd do that GPS thing just so I could figure out a way to fuck it up so it doesn't work any more. I already know how to disable the governor on the MkiV Supra TT...:naughty:...my uncle works for Toyota...

Well most cars in general from the 80s couldn't do more than 85ish so it really wasn't that much of an issue. If you wish to remember back to that terrible time, it was one of little mainstream interest in sports cars, the beginings of the the minivan/SUV upswing and infantile fuel injection technology being forced in by sadistic environmental standards. Big power output wasn't really a marketable trait back then.
Life is much better now.
Anyway, as for the GPS bit, it's a bit forward for now but things like it are coming. They are just disguised as useful bits, and to their credit often are. Like OnStar. It can summon roadside aid, remote start a car, perform limited diagnostics via satelite and track and remote shut down stolen vehicles. All handy things. However, all require a certain amount of freedom to be given up. Right now, I still have the choice and I choose a car I have total control over. But as the next generation of non-gas power cars and auto-drive corridors come in, we may find that we have no say in the matter.

i agree it will be a sad day...
they are actually really working on the auto-drive systems. they already have the auto-slow down feature in a couple jaguars that actually slow your car down when in cruise control when approaching another car or object. we have the systems that keep your car from moving over the lines in Lexus and Infiniti (problem more but thats all i know about).
its amazing technology but like you say...it will come to hinder is in the long run. there will be no running from the police which might not be bad...there will be no speeding...it will more than likely be like grade school where every class had to follow in a single file line when moving from place to place. there will be no passing...it will be like a zombie world in cars.
can you buy a high end GM and have the "OnStar" disabled or maybe not enable it? i dont even think you have to pay for it anymore, do you?
BROKE: you may want to do some research on turbos, i dont know where your at on your project or whatever but some pretty good new technology is available on TT.net. the GT28RS with the .64A/R trim has similar spool up to the 530BB's when used in conjunction with exhaust manifolds and headwork but it doesnt sacrifice flat lining on top end. its an amazing turbo, similar top end to the JWT 700BB with the .8? A/R but with the spool up of the HKS 2530's that are only capable of mid 500rwhp numbers. thought you might like to know since you already had exhaust manifolds in your planned build. you can find more info and dyno charts at TT.net. do a search for Bernie's post.

A/R but with the spool up of the HKS 2530's that are only capable of mid 500rwhp numbers. thought you might like to know since you already had exhaust manifolds in your planned build. you can find more info and dyno charts at TT.net. do a search for Bernie's post.

Man, I've fucking had it with stupid ass dealerships and private party morons not knowing jack shit about cars, and charging 3-4000 dollars over KBB value... yea I don't mind paying maybe 500 to 1000 bucks more but 3 is just fucking insane... I don't know if I'll ever have a new z at this rate...
Now I hate to say this too, but I hate it when people say "well the price is this way becuase I just put in a new clutch, and injectors blah blah blah and it ended up costing me 50 dollars and a blowjob." Yea, that's what you do when cars get fucked up... you fix them. That's normal for a used car, parts are gonna' go and they're gonna' have to be replaced, and when people act like the car's gonna' run forever like it came from the factory that pisses me off. I do understand that they're trying to get back some of the money they put into the car, but that's normal maintenance that comes with the car... That's why when kbb gives a value, they factor in all of that crap... WHY CAN'T I JUST GET A Z!!!???

get used to it. KBB completly underestimate our cars. most Z's do sell for $2k-$3k over what KBB values it at. KBB dont know what they are talking about when it comes to Z's.

Well to my knowledge, the 530BB doesn't really flat line, the GT28RS is just has more boost potential. I think Ash or Seb or someone did some math and figured the the GT28RS could get up to 30-32psi if you really spanked it hard. The most I've ever seen a 530 set dynoed at was 24 or 25. That and 700BB = GT28RS adapted to bolt on directly.
Anyway, I saw that post that you refer to and read through it all. I tried looking up the post history of Shawn300zTT GT28R MD becuase something he posted started a big debate back and forth a while ago over the GT28R-GT28RS issue. Essentially it boils down to the fact that the GT28RS is just a newer turbo with better design. Slightly altered trim and housing specs give it a bit of a spooling edge over the GT28R at the top end and it is listed as being capable of 27+ psi while the most anyone has seen on a GT28R was 23.5, if I remember correctly. However it does not have a significant spooling advantage, or really any at all (depending on who you talk to it may even lag behind the GT28R), until you get over 20 psi of boost. 20 psi with larger intercoolers and water/alcohol injection should be pretty safe on the 92 octane I can get at the pump. So at 20 psi with trick manifolds, 400+ cams and all the other parts lumped together, I'll hopefully be at around 500rwhp with barely any lag. Thats more than I'll ever need for street/light track use. And think of this. If the GT28RS can spool like a 530/GT28R with head work and/or manifolds then imagine the GT28R set on manifolds. The final selling point, for me anyway, is that you can source GT28Rs for at least $500 less, almost $1000 less at some places, than the GT28RS. Seems like the right choice for my project.

sounds good, i was just making you aware if you werent already.
research and dyno sheets are shown by bernie in a post he compiled showing that the GT28RS with the .64 A/R w/ headwork and manis spools up at almost the exact same rates as the HKS GT2530's or the GT28R's without significant headwork or manis. yes this doesnt mean that the 2530's and 28r's will not spool up faster with the same headwork and manis. there is no doubt in my mind...but for me, with the higher top end capabilities and similar spool-up (which is damn good) it is a great turbo. and yes he GT28RS's re the same as 700BB from JWT and now you can specify from JWT if you want the .64 A/R or the much laggier .8? A/R.
anyways, good luck with your project broke. i wasnt trying to convince you of anything, just making you aware if you werent already and it seems you were. and yes, those GT28R's are damn impressive and i have seen sites selling them for $850 each. thats a bargain...
its even worst to be excited to see ponitac's, they are pieces of crap.
hey hey hey...i wouldnt go that far. their cars are quite impressive and alot more stylish than their GM counterpart. calling the GTO a piece of crap is like saying a C6 corvette is a piece of crap.
