There were only 48 1995 Twin Turbo five speeds painted dark green with black leather ever brought to the US.

So I did my taxes a while back. Since I'm not technically employed by the company I drive trucks for (no taxes are taken from my pay from them) I had to pay in $175 dollars this year to cover the money that didn't get anything deducted.
So I was clearing some junk out today and found some of the tax paperwork, specifically the part that tells you how much you owe based on how much you made. If I hadn't of reported the money I made from driving I would have gotten a $1100 refund instead of having to pay $175.
Now obviously the right thing to do is to pay in, since I did make the money and it did qualify to be taxed and if the truck place got audited (unlikely but possible) I would have been screwed if I didn't report if. And naturally it's not like I'm coming out behind since I did make quite a bit of money driving.
But still, having to pay in then finding out what could have been your refund:
FUCKING SUCKS
But it's okay. I have my good friend alcohol here to comfort me. Probably call up one of my female aquaintances too. /sigh

I still have to do my taxes. I started them...just haven't finished them. I ran into a bit of a road block with them. It asked me if I have any student loans. Apparently I can claim the interest and get it back or something...which is good...I have no paperwork from the loan companies though...which is bad. So I have to call them and find out all kinds of shit and blah blah blah...it's such a pain in the ass. I want that money back (cuz my refund always blows ass anyway...chick I'm kinda seeing or whatever gets back...like...3 grand or something every year. Me...I get back a weenie 400 bucks or so...) but I'm tempted to just say fuck it.

there's a local fella over here with a 93' prelude with a H22 engine swap. I think that's about it for mods. How do you guys think I stand against him (from a dig and a roll). I'll prolly be boosting at about 7 or 8 PSI during the race.
DeleriousZ
04-18-2006, 08:49 PM
h22 swap? from what? an h23? anyway... you should be able to take him as long as he's not moderately modified

04-22-2006, 12:04 AM
^yea, I've got a boost leak in the plenum though, the previous owner taped into one of the vaccum lines and didn't close it back up. I tried to fix it, but I couldn't get off the piece that taps into the plenum, and every time I get on it, I loose power :(. We'll see what happens... but yea, IDK about all the specs, he just said that he's got an h22 swaped 93' prelude. I figure I'll clober him from a dig (assuming I can fix my vaccum leak in time and be boosting at like 7 PSI) and that I should be able to edge him out from a roll too....

Wednesday morning: Fly out of Sea-Tac, stop in Reno and Vegas before reaching Birmingham, Alabama.
Wednesday afternoon: Spend half an hour in the car with a Jordian driver who through his worldly travels has deduced that greatest women in the world are in Birmingham (total package women: Looks, class, taste, money, personality etc). Having seen some of the more impressive specimens around town, he might be on to something. But for whatever reason I decided to pick up the truck (03 F450 crew cab with a 12 ft flatbed) and head out of town.
Wednesday night: I get to Newton, Mississippi, stop for some food and when I go to start it again there is a huge cloud of white smoke coming from the exhaust. It's loosing too much coolant to go anywhere with it, no shop would be open that time of night anyway, so I get a motel room for the night and start looking for the nearest Ford dealership in the phone book (the truck was still under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty). Everyone is pretty much booked up for at least two weeks but New South Ford in Meridian might be able to look at it by Monday.
Wednesday night (late)/Thursday morning (early): Can't sleep, watched a marathon of "Trick my Truck", not a bad show. Kept flipping to the country music video channels. Before I started driving, I never listened to country music. But in the middle of southern Wyoming, you don't have alot of variety to pick from. And like anything, I started to find some songs that I liked and got used to the ones that weren't immediately likable. So I guess you can say that Broke is a fan of country music. This is backed up by the country girl that I dated for a while, during my tenure with her I'll admit I cleaned out a stall or two. No, I'm not buying a hat.
Thursday morning: Call a tow truck to get the F450 thirty miles back up the road to Meridian, MS. They get there about an hour later but the truck they brought is too small. So about another hour passes and the big ass International wrecker they called shows up. Get everything strapped down and head east. The first thing the guy asks is why I didn't take it to the dealership they recommended that was closer. I told him because they were two weeks out and New South was only a few days. Then he says thats because the 6.0 Powerstrokes are a pain to work on, thats why everyone is two or three weeks out, no one wants to work on such a crampt engine bay (I looked and it's almost as bad as a Z32). Anyway, I told him that it was loosing alot of coolant and smoking bad. He immediately writes down "EGR cooler" on the work order and says that he can probably have it done by Friday afternoon. Apparently this has happened a few times before.
Thursday afternoon/night: Get a hotel room for the night, spend another night watching country channels and "Trick my Truck". You have to remember that I didn't watch TV almost at all growing up and I don't have it hooked up in my apartment. So just sitting around watching TV is kind of odd for me. Anyway, it was very dissappointing because once past about 11:00 pm they were playing all the same stuff as the day before. Past 1:00 am there wasn't anything worth watching. I guess you need 500+ channels just to find one or two that are decent at any given time.
Friday morning/afternoon: Slept in til just before check out time, spent the next five hours in a bar waiting for the truck to be finished. Get the call around 4:00 pm and head over there. It's still smoking pretty bad, the exhaust had gotten full of coolant, but they repaired the EGR cooler, flushed the coolant and changed the oil and filter so everything seemed good to go. Get on the highway and for the next five miles it put up a smoke cloud that a forest fire would be enivious of. Then it stopped, which was good, I didn't need to be arrested or even worse, shot by some over zealous environmentalist.
Saturday morning (very early): Got into Emory, Texas about midnight, looking for the place I was supposed to pick up a trailer. Problem was they weren't open Saturday, I was supposed to be there Thursday but that got killed with the EGR cooler. Anyway, so we arranged for the trailer to be dropped off at the place that was going to do the brake controller and hitch install on the truck. So after consulting some extremely Texan locals I park outside and try to sleep, four hours later I succeed. There was some bad mojo that has recently gone down and it's been on my mind pretty much constantly.
Saturday morning: Wake up when the place opens and get everything set up. Get some chains and tie downs while they are working on the truck. This part actually went pretty smooth.
Saturday afternoon: Get into Buda, Texas just south of Austin. This place wasn't open either but the owner agreed to come out when I called so I could get the F350 cab and chassis loaded and on the road. Find out that somewhere between here and there the cable to the trailer had come loose and dragged on the road, to the point of burning through a few of the wires. A knife and duct tape later, it's fixed, sort of. Not really feeling like putting a **** load of miles on that night, I pull into a motel in San Antonio. Take a shower and head out on to the Riverwalk.
Now for those of you who have never been to San Antonio, the entire city is a ghetto. A place that I wouldn't step foot in without a tank. Except the Riverwalk. A river runs through the middle of town about twelve feet below street level and on each side of the river in the middle of the city there is a walkway lined with shops, resturants and bars all ending up in the three story Rivercenter Mall. It's a great place. This is where I was Saturday, which just happened to also be Fiesta weekend (it's some sort of independence holiday or something). Needless to say, a good time was had. Also, there is usually some sort of rule at motels that only registered guests are allowed in the rooms.
Whoops
Sunday morning: Very hung over I set out south to interstate 10 then roll west. There is nothing to see in southern Texas, you have no need to go.
Sunday night (late): After pounding hard all day, I'm in northern New Mexico. After seeing how little of anything there is out there, I have to give some props to illegal immigrants, I would have thought crossing out in the open desert would have been a death sentence.
Monday morning: Rolling north, Colorado passed fairly quickly, I-25 in Denver SUCKS. Anyway, hit some light snow in northern Colorado so I stop in Cheyene, Wyoming to see whats happening. It passes after a hour or so and reports made it moving east so I press on. If you ever happen to be in Cheyene or going through Wyoming on I-25, stop into a little town called Chugwater, exit 54 on I-25. Go into the Sinclair station and take a right down toward the wall of refers. They'll have a wooden stand with some blankets on it. Buy some, they are the best blankets you will ever find anywhere. I've spent the night in a truck at a rest stop in January with nothing for warmth but a pair of these blankets and I was totally warm the entire night. They are awesome.

My truck and trailer were almost as long as the semi. I figured between the truck and trailer I was pushing 50 feet.
http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/6112/picture011alt7up.jpg
Monday night: Get into Utah, spend the night with a newly aquired kick ass set of blankets.
Tuesday Morning: Wake up nice and toasty and get on the road.
Tuesday Night: After a long day of driving and some frustrating overheating issues on the mountain passes in southern Idaho and eastern Oregon, I pull into the lot.
Before I left I had figured that it was going to be about 3650 miles. I picked up the truck with 73243 on it. I pulled into the yard with 76892. I think I may have been doing this too long.

Before I left I had figured that it was going to be about 3650 miles. I picked up the truck with 73243 on it. I pulled into the yard with 76892. I think I may have been doing this too long.

Wow, how do you guys even keep track of this thread... it's ... sooo long.
You don't try. Since there is no topic, you just keep reading it as stuff is posted, what was posted before usually doesn't have any relevance on what is currently being talked about so there is no need to go back into the thread to understand the conversation. But yeah, it' takes a few hours to read through it all.
You guys want a new thread or something??
No. This one is great and there is the pride associated with a big ass thread, especially since it's really only 4-5 people that have built it up.

So I went and saw the "Silent Hill" movie today. I've never played the games so I don't know how much matches up but as we all know:
A. Horror movies have never been noted for their smart characters (IE DON'T go into the abandon mine shaft in the ghost town because you heard a creepy noise there)
B. Horror video games have less logic than horror movies
So, with that in mind I was fully prepared for a craptastic movie experience but I was somewhat surprised in that there was a decent plot and at least semi intelligent characters. A lot of stuff doesn't really make sense, maybe playing the game would explain it but mostly it doesn't matter because the plot is simple enough to understand even though some of the things that happen don't add up.
Also, wasn't that cop chick surprisingly hot? Seriously, she didn't look like much but then she takes the jacket off and it's like DAMN, how the hell you get those babies under a vest?

the silent hill games are by far the BEST horror genre games out there.... every review you read the writer says something about "i could only play this game in the afternoon with all of the lights on and windows open" or "i could only play this for like 45 min before i got too freaked out" etc etc.... i would only suspect the movie to be a good one :p

very nice read broke...always enjoy a good road story.
as for silent hill, i was supposed to go see it but i ended up passing to hang out with a few girls. i must say, it ended up being a very good trade off. :D
have fun and stay safe fellows...
just found out that a good friend of mine died a couple weekends ago on a little road trip. he drives a Laguna Blue BMW E46 M3. i guess he decided to get a little crazy on a back country road and ended up flipping the car. he was trapped inside and injured severely when the car caught on fire klilling him and his friend inside. very sad story...anyways, be safe.

yeah, it was rough man. he loved that M3...a bunch of his good friends went out and got the M3 logo tatooed on their back. i am still considering it but i am not a big fan of body art.
the kid was totally awesome. he is the same one that i told you guys about that drove the red 300zxTT automatic that i borrowed the HKS ALC from when he blew his motor. awesome kid and it is really too bad that this happened...
anyways, my wishes are that he was unconsience or already passed when the fire started. i think being burnt alive is probably one of the worst ways to go. my prayers...

have you ever listened to tool? there's a reason there's such a massive cult following for them. pure musical genious

Yes I have. They're nothing special. That they have a following means nothing. Britney Spears has a cult following.

social d > tool.
not even close.
on a completely different topic, i recently destroyed my clutch in the 510 (tore half of the pressure plate side off the disc). so i just got a centerforce dual friction hybrid clutch and a 10.5 lb. aluminium flywheel coming in the mail. i can't wait. i run a Z flywheel/clutch assembly (240, 260, 280, non-turbo, 2-seater) and the flywheel is about 35-40 lbs. , it should wind up MUCH quicker now. i'm taking lots of pictures for an upcoming thread (when i am done with the install) in the 510 forum.
lesson learned from the clutch demolition . . . . ..
a LSD will find the weak point in your drive train and destroy it (just like racing slicks)
solution . . . ..
beef up the drivetrain.

about tool, i thought they were all anti-corporate and everything? i went to go see how much their tickets were for an upcoming concert here in KC, and they were $55! and they are playing at a small venue, and they were still $55. tool are a bunch of tools.
DeleriousZ

i don't think they were ever really heavily anti-corperate... and as for ticket prices... when they're that good they can charge whatever the hell they want and it'll still sell out

05-07-2006, 07:56 PM
umm how bout when pearl jam charged 1000 bucks per ticket... it was a benefit show though... ohh but yea, some of the bon jovi tickets are going for like 3-400 bucks a piece (not that I wanna go see them or anything)
