No that is just a throw back the times when I made some good money writing essays and reports for other people.
hell, i had enough problems doing my own reports. i hate doing stuff that your forced to do. its funny because i probably do 40% of the things i was supposed in school under my own will now (ie. reading books, i read all the time now, not just about cars...i read regular books all the time but it doesnt have a due date and its under my own will so i enjoy it. i have probably read half the books i was assigned to read in school, after i got out of school). never saw the point in homework so i never did it...i always went to class and learned everything but never did homework but i would ace my tests which would keep my grades about passing level.

so...i went and got my new turbos today. they are alot better than the old ones, ill tell you that much. "speedyfreak" in chicago..the guy seems really good just a little inorganized but i would recommend him for basic mechanical work on Z's. he is a Z specialist and has about 6 Z32's in his shop torn apart waiting on customers to come up with the money for the upgraded parts and what not. pretty awesome...
he also had 2 280zx's side by side...his and her's...turbo and non turbo.

ehh...ill probably never need one unless i somehow get injured and am on disability. but i see what your saying...for engine swapping and what not, i would recommend this guy in chicago. for like tune-ups and stuff, i think he would be a little slow. he seems like a good guy and knows what he is doing but it isnt no Z1 motorsports and he is the only person working their on Z's. its pretty neat to check out his shop. if your ever in the chicago area take a stop by. real nice fellow...
well i did some pricing around...i would have spent almost $1000 getting them rebuild as the JDM turbos needed new parts not just rebuilt. so i wasnt gonna do that and not spend the extra cash and get some upgraded ones. so i wa lookign around because i really cant afford the upgraded ones yet and i found a bunch of people selling their stock turbos in good condition for cheap because they upgraded. well i found this local guy so i could check them out before paying money. these things have 60k miles on tham, hardly no shaft play and spin freely. so it was well worth the drive and the money...now this weekend and get something accomplished hopefully.
you guys could all chip in and get me the greddy profec B spec II for my birthday monday!!! :D

You know I would declare a race to see who could get their car done fastest but I think I would probably loose.
I still have the entire engine to put back together, still have to get my turbos and manifolds, still have to figure out how to pay for it all...

I was pulling some parts out of the pile, trying to find my oil pan bolts, and started looking at all the stickers I've collected. The stickers all the parts manufactures send you with their products. So far I've got: Nismo, Unorthodox, RPS, Performance Coatings, Jim Wolf, Nissan, ARP...maybe one or two others I haven't uncovered yet. It's like a stock pile of ricer ammo or something.

On a side note, ARP bolts are fun to touch. They are so smooth they almost feel like they have a thin coat of grease on them.

But I'm now at 5324.59 mbs completed on a 5336.19 mb file. It will be odd to not turn the download on everynight before going to bed. Waking up in the morning and checking to see what if any progress has been made. Coming home after work and finding out what its day was like...

This stuff definately rates about a 9.0 on the weird shit-o-meter.
But it had one of the funniest lines I've ever heard spoken:
Dipshit with gun pointed at his head: "What? Kill? What do you mean kill?"
Guy with gun: "Isn’t it obvious dumbass? The word kill. It means I pull the trigger, the gun goes off and your brains splatter all over the sand. The beach gets bloody and you get dead.'

so we're all sitting in the lunch room today, and one of the guys pipes up and says... you know what the creepiest thing you can do to a dead body is? of course everyone starts laughing as he slowly figures out how badly it came out... anyway, apparently nowadays you can use the ashes from the persons cremated body and turn them into a diamond or something... for a small fee of $3000 or something ridiculous like that... either way.. it was funny at the time

Well, no one thought that motorcycles would rev much higher than 10,000 rpm either and the new Suzuki GSX-R 600 turns 16,000 rpm or something like that. Even the full liter bikes are running 13,000 now. Hell, back in 1987 the GSX-R 250 ran to 17,000. And while a sub-liter motor cycle engine and a 2.6L I6 are two very different challenges, if he really has to have that 12,000 rpm I'm sure there is some way to get there. He's goint to have to cut every possible hundreth of a gram off the valve train and rotating assembly, not to mentition replacing every single part of each of those.
EDIT:
9000rpm redline stock...
You sure? I could have sworn it was 8000.

He's goint to have to cut every possible hundreth of a gram off the valve train and rotating assembly, not to mentition replacing every single part of each of those.
EDIT:
You sure? I could have sworn it was 8000.
yeah sorry, i changed it...DZ corrected me but i still remember reading 9000rpms somewhere. i will investigate further...
anyways, your right...it is going to take alot of money and alot of knowledge but like i said, i have heard many times that the RB26DETT can turn 12,000rpms. i also read somewhere that Joel is having the motor built in Japan by the leading RB26DETT performance shop in the world. :dunno:

here is a car that i found that a current GTR owner has in the states...this is about the only info i could find on this one. i will keep looking for more examples of RB26DETT's turning over 12,000rpms. it is not impossible, it has been done too many times too count, and if i could read japanese i could prove it alot easier.
here is the site that i got that from, it contain a little more info. http://www.exvitermini.com/r33specs.htm
also, the R34 RB26DETT was used in the 2000 JGTC races...the motor is strong, powerful, and high revving. the probably use the RB26DETT more than that...but i dont feel like looking for info.

LOL...didn't think he'd actually admit to that...
EDIT: I'm rmp5sxxx, by the way...he's the other guy...
While I'm in the off topic thread, I'm gunna do a quick post...what everyone should do while they're alive...go to a Gwar show. Just went to one here in cinci and it was fuckin crazy. The costumes...the music...the fake blood...it's nuts. My girlfriend and I were completely DRENCHED in fake blood of various colors...to the extent that my hands were actually prune-y! What a blast. Things to know before you go:
Do NOT wear anything you like! Cuz it will become tie-died! Go buy a cheap white t-shirt and wear that...it'll become a souviner [sp.] after all is said and done if you do things right.
Invest in a good pair of non-skid, steel toed boots. I believe this is a MUST for any metal show, but this one in particular. You'll fall and bust your ass in the pit cuz the floor's covered in fake blood and what not if you don't have this necessary item.
Bring plenty of beer money...it's expensive at shows...duh.
And if you're one of those pansies standing aaaaaaaall the way in the back or on a balcony or something, then you're a pussy! GO GET NASTY!
Long live the Z
Long live heavy metal!!!

K3 too many thing in the specs for that engine don't jive..
First off Custom Titanium rods....We look into them $1,000 per rod and we wouldn't gain anything over the rods were using. The rods were using are similar to the rods used in a 8,000 HP AA/F dragster.
Jun full stroker crankshaft 75.7mm stroke (2.99" or 3") now were talking about a 2.99" stroke engine turning 13,000RPM Never happen, that would put the piston speed at 6500 fpm. Not even the best F-1 or Indy cars come anywere's near this. It's not possible, the engine would explode.
Tungsten-carbide crankshaft bearings. This I find totally unbelievable..tungsten-carbide is close to diamond in hardness and shatters when exposed to a blow like the tempered glass in car windows.
Because of its hardness would wear out the crankshaft very quick, if it didn't shatter before it damaged the crank.
Custom 2000cc injectors....I find this strange also as most engine builders run 2 or 3 injectors per cylinders, and to run a single custom 2000cc injector you wouldn't have as much control over your fuel system..
Now were talking about a car claiming almost 1,400HP, more HP than Escorts race car but 1 second slower. 600Hp more than my streel legal Z32 but only 1.5 second faster and about the same top speed in the 1/4.
There's a old saying, "Lies figure, but figure don't lie."
Sorry but I have to call BS on this.
i dont know...thats the only thing i could find in english at that time. i will do some more hunting. but i know the RB26DETT can push 12,000rpms. i dont know whats involved or anything, but i know it has been dones and can be done.
i will do some more hunting...i know i have read it somwhere and i know Joel has read and researched about it somewhere or else he wouldnt be attempting it.
but im sure joel will build it and then you will see first hand that the RB26DETT can and will turn 12,000rpms.
anyways, thanks Jorge...i didnt get my pony. maybe next year...teh swap is going as good as it gets, i suppose. i will have an update soon enough.
