Yeah they are used so I can't get too picky! I would like 9-wide next time I get rims... I will probably just get some volks or something for the rear to run slicks for track time. I'll be happy with these for awhile.
Last time we spoke extensively I thought you mentioned you were just installing it stock as-is?? My misunderstanding I guess... LoL
I can't wait until you are done... YES... you will be done before me! That's alright... at least I won't go through as much trial and error as you after you post up your how-to. I'm sure mine will be relatively easier since I'm sticking with an AT.... how's that write up coming up anyway?

i did a write-up along time ago on teh twin turbo swap and whats involved....i didnt get too in-depth like i wanted to because i realized it would have taken me forever. i would like to add some pictures to it...
i basically just told what was involved and what you need to do...to give people a better idea of whats involved and what order it should be done in. then they can ask me specific questions. you will definitely benefit from me doing first becasue you will be able to ask me direct question i should know the answer.
as for the 5-speed swap...the biggest problem was getting teh clutch pedal in. that was a pain in the ass. nissan left absolutely no room. it can only go in one way...the next biggest pain in the ass is getting the manual transmission stabbed in teh ass of the engine. for whatever reason its fighting me every centimeter...so yes...if i was staying automatic i would have been done by now and had a few more upgraded parts.

they are some fairly inexpensive wheels...ill take pics when they come in, which should be next week.
i am using my stillen cat-back with a set of testpipes and semi-split downpipes.

you should...just give them a notice. i am going to get rid of this motor if you do not come to pick it up within the next 2 weeks. then if they dont show up...its yours. take it to a machine shop, use that money to get it rebuilt.

I already had this motor for like three months+!!! I'm starting to think maybe they thought they could get away with selling me a junk engine but then they got scared when I told them I would take them to court if I did not get a refund or better engine... too bad I gave the $$$ to my girl so she could buy her New Bettle....
I guess I can sell the engine for what it's worth and maybe come out $300 on top.

your so childish!!! you better buy some better recircs...i dont think teh stockers are gonna hold that much boost.
anyways, the RFL is the loudest BOV i have ever heard. with my computer speakers, i cant even get a good sound quality they are so loud.
there was this site called boost-solutions...it used to have a clip of almost all the top BOVs for the Z32. Blitz soudns like garbage...the HKS sounded like a loud whistle but i think the guy had them set wrong. the Apexi's are the best sounding i think and then the Turbo X's are just extremely loud.
im still pondering between the turbo x's and the apexi's. we will see....but im leaning more towards turbo x's.

the HKS SSQV's are far too expensive for soemthing that does so little. $500+??? WTF???
anyways, you guys should try to hear the Apexi's...i think they are the best sounding ones i have heard except for when Joel had the Tial on his single-turbo convertible.

whatever you do k3, have it done by the time i get back from holidays so i can see how it sounds :p i wish there were more clips of the apexi, because in one it sounds Damn good, and in another on the 300zxtt it sounds like someone blowing a whistle... so we'll see.... one of the clips the greddy type S sounds absolutely amazing on a modded wrx.
anyway, the hks ssqv sounds very similar on some applications (not the 300zx) to joel's tial on his single turbo... with the loud chirp and then the rush of air. it seems to sound different on every car.. some sound awesome, like on the 240sx, tt supra.. vw 1.8t.. and so on.. if it weren't like double the price of other bov's i'm sure it would be my first choice, but seeing as how the rfl and apexi bov's are so much cheaper, i think it will be one of those two...

my buddy with the red TT automatic has Apexi's. they sound spectacular but there not near as loud as the RFL's...
this is why i am leaning more towards the RFL's because i want mine to sound much different. but then again...he threw a rod through the oil pan so i wonder if he will sell me his BOV's. hmm...

I run HP's on the Civic... Definately not softer than stock. And they can definately take some turns.
The Illumina's are great if you have the money... But seeming as Jason doesn't race his Zed in any type of Auto Cross, or Road Coursing... That wouldn't make much sense to spend the extra money.
HP's will work just fine in my opinion.

yeah i think i will go with the HP's...the eibach springs should give enough stiffness alone. and yes, i do not auto-cross but i do drive on the street. if i hit a pot-hole at 40mph, i dont want it to feel like someone took a sludge hammer and hit the side of my car.
plus, i have heard nothing good about the even cheaper KYB AGX's...

Wheels are a little more banged up than I thought... has some pretty good curb-rash on the rear set. Any idea how I can get rid of that? Maybe re-surface? They need a good polishing too...

just take an air sander with a medium abrassive pad and polish that outter ring right up. and then use some metal polish and rub down the whole wheel. i prefer the metal polish with the white rabbit on it. and by rabbit i mean the little rodent not the VW.

Thanks, probe... What kinda grit should I use to remove a little of the curb rash?
Did you ever get any wheels?

yeah thanks for all the links and help guys. Ive been looking for wheels ALOT lately, especially rbmotoring theres a nice set of Advans i like there but there 7 wide in front and 8 in rear and i wanted wider. But anways, where did u find those wheels u just posted a pic of k3 ? and yeah ill look into those ones on tt.net. Ive been looking alot lately cuz i just got a $900 paycheck :)
BTW: while looking for wheels so much lately ive also been thinking a little about the "negatives" such as over sized wheels slowing the car down a very small amount but i wated other ppls input on howmuch they would affect that sort of thing. and also rubbing ? does anyone have that with their wheels ? and hw much does your speedo end up off with slightly oversized wheels. ? just this sorta thing...any input you guy got on any of these affects would be greatly appreciated.

how oversized are you tlaking??? when sizing wheels and tires...they offer low profile tires to give your new wheel and tire combo the same diameter of the stock combonation. so your speedo should never be off unless your trying to shove a 20" wheel under your fenders.
as for rubbing...no rubbing if it has the same diameter as stock or even a little larger diameter than stock. you wont be able to stick too wide of front tires on or else it will rub but i dont think you are planning on putting 10" wide wheels on the front of your Z.
17 and 18" wheels will usually match the stock weight. such companies as volk, SSR, works, advan makes super light weight wheels that actually can take 5lbs or so off of each 16" stock wheel, but you still get the look of a 18" wheel.
i found that pic at the site Georgy posted a few posts ago. check it out...
i wanted to go 9" wide in teh front and 10" wide in the rear but i settled for 8.5" and 9.5"...
i will have 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 in the rear...just to give you an idea.

I'm looking into what kinda tires to get... currently I'm really liking the Yokohama Parada Spec 2's. I kinda depleted my funds with vacation and wheels so I gotta save up about $500 over the next month. Plus I kinda want to get the lips resurfaced... debating on wether I should try a DIY.
