I'm looking into what kinda tires to get... currently I'm really liking the Yokohama Parada Spec 2's. I kinda depleted my funds with vacation and wheels so I gotta save up about $500 over the next month. Plus I kinda want to get the lips resurfaced... debating on wether I should try a DIY.

well i actually did some healthy research on tires and found out what i wantoed to get through other peopels reviews. i decided ont he Kumho Ecsta 712's or whatever they are called. they are fairly inexpensive and i know i will be replacing these quite often so i didnt want to have to spend $500 on 2 tires every few weeks.

these kumhos seem to be the best tire for what i was looking for...yeah i could have spent some serious money on tires but with me planning on getting into some sanctioned racing events, tires will be something i will replace often and i dont want to have to spend massive amounts of money to replace tires when they get low on tread.

go to tirerack.com and compare...their are plenty of reviews and road tests opinions that can be looked over.

i got all 4 for ~$500 so i didnt think that was bad at all. so now i can replace the rears when needed for a little over $250. that will not break my bank...:D

if your looking to spend some serious cash...i was going to go with nitto neo-gens. awesome tires...but for the sizes i needed they would have ran $800

Yellow's the Shit

I'm pretty excited about the car... It looks absolutely spotless. That's the type of car you garage for 20 years, and only drive once a week when the weather is PERFECT.

That's what I hopefully will be able to do.

So far, how much have the parts cost you?

He's probably thinking more about not getting ripped off.

Assuming that the guy just didn't have pictures of his ride and jacked someone elses', I would lay good money that the one on Ebay is fake. Because:

1. Unless you are buying used Limp Biscit albums, Ebay sucks.

2. Seller is asking for cash only

3. The VIN number on Ebay would appear to indicate a NA.

Ebay VIN: JN1RZ24A0LX014703

The part of this that pertains to this is the fourth letter.

R indicates VG30DE motor

C indicates VG30DETT

Anyway, just ask for a picture of the odo, call the number on the Autotrader ad or email the Ebay seller. A few well placed questions will flush out the fake.

That's exactly what I was thinking Broke... I'm calling the REAL owner to let them know what is going on.

-Wes

ZedEx
07-20-2005, 10:09 AM
Oh this is no good... I just spoke with the real owner. He says this is the third time this has happened.

The Autotrader listing is obviously the real owner. He has had the car since 1990, he has driven the car around 100 miles a year, and it has been garaged for the majority of it's life.

I E-Mailed the seller on Ebay telling him that his act hasn't gone un-noticed, and that I E-Mailed Ebay alerting them of his fraud. The real owner did the same to him.

... However, I attempted to E-Mail Ebay, and they have a nice convenient error message that pops up every time I tried to send the message... In other words, they couldn't give a Shit who's getting Fucked over.

Glad we caught it... Someone is about to get really screwed.

speak for yourself... i rarely get second looks from girls walkin down the street... must be the z31...

Funny story: I was parked at Taco Hell one night, talking to a buddy of mine, when this obviously intoxicated chick rolls up next to me and tells me she loves my car, and wants to buy it. She says she'll give me 10,000 for it. I smile and say no, so she offers 20. I tell her I wanna see the money. She goes,"c'mon, I'll give you the money." I tell her I don't even know her, so she proceeds to give me her name, phone number, and measurements. I'd have called her, but there was some other dude passed out in the passenger seat, and besides, drunk chicks are SOOO not hot.

Of course, Mine's a '77. Chicks dig the S30.

Dude thats hilarious you think that this is the reason why people think that the 300 isn't much I could see it now...
Man I could've bought it but I had more money to spend the TT was only 8 grand...

And we get geeked up like

"F***, where? no way you found a TT for that cheap".

(But we really don't realize that jdm potential cars do depreciate just slower)

And you get into arguments with them and look it up and never find one that cheap and over a rare case you end up losing a friend over what you thought you knew... kinda like the recent arguments, just pisses everyone off :banghead:

Hey Yall
When your bord you think of the weirest things.
I have always been a speed junky. Well does any 1 remember
the lil C02 powerd cars made in shop when you was in school.
They where made of pine and had a hole bored out in the rear to fit the C02 packs you put in BB guns, they ran at scale something like 300mph
on a string that ran trough eyelets on the bottom of the car lots of fun.
Well I though about makeing something like that but much bigger scale.I know its crazy but usein a tank from a cutting torch set you weld axels on the tank on these axels spoilers for down force will be added as well one on the back you have to lay on it like a sport bike
Then take it to the saltflats have some1 knock the valve of a hold on lol
I know you wont live to see it but I bet it would set a new land speed record and prob a new class non engine powered class. I know its a stupid idea but just think of the speed. dont those tanks put out like 1200 psi. I figured the speed freaks would get a kick outa the idea
YALL HAVE A GOOD 1

yeah, thats probably due to civic's being the more dominating ricer car for those want to be's. i have had one person offer me a trade for my Z32...he wanted to trade me a crown victoria with "NOS". i gave him a look like "what the fuck did you just say to me" and then i casually hopped back in my car and left.

so i recevied my Greddy Profec B SpecII and matching Greddy Auto Turbo Timer today. hopefully i will get them installed tonight and take some pictures. that boost controller is going to be hell to install. i am defintiely not look forward to it. they are alot smaller than i thought they would be.

Back away from life, you are obviously in way over your head.

Anyway, finished matching up the intake plenums (Woo Hoo for dremels!) . How much it will help I don't really know but hell, might as well. Bank account has finally swollen to the point of turbo-manifold-and-other-stuff purchase capacity. The last few OEM parts required have been discerned (some heater hoses, fuel dampers..few other odds and ends).

Looks like I might actually get to drive it this summer. Hopefully the engine in the 240 will last until then.

just? yeah but you must remember that the motor nor transmission never was in the car. so i am experiencing just about every difficulty possible. plus i have to keep going to nissan and ordering/waiting on parts that i dont have. its alot more fabricating than i would ahve thought. if i had a TT front clip sitting here at my disposal...it would be alot easier but i dont so i have to order everything from somebody. but the waiting is over...its time to find time to work on it.

but look...i will have a complete bolt on 2+2 TT in mint condition for ~$12k-$13k. :naughty: plus, its a good learning experience and i am always willing to learn new things.

no i never got the transmission in but i havent worked on it. i had to stop what i was doing and order the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine. and i just plain havent had time...but yes, i got it to go through the clutch and tomorrow night i will be trying to get it to go through the pilot bushing and then it should be smooth sailing.

good luck with your project also. i hope to see it up and running soon...hopefully get it broke in before winter.

Winters around here are pretty mild, hardly ever snows down in the valley, mostly just wet. Anyway, given how fast I can get cross country in a big diesel truck, I would wager I could put a thou on the Z in a day, no problem.

hey, if you talk to him again. ask him how he got the stock wing to go onto the 2+2 hatch. the 2+2 hatch is different dimensions that the 2 seater which is why you hardly ever see the "real" stock spoiler on a 2+2, just look-a-likes. i am seriously curious about that...

anyways, the car looks very sharp...very very very sharp. i like it alot.

I'm thinking of buying it... Seriously, my dad likes it as well (Rarity).

So I think we're going down to perhaps offer him $7,000 at the beginning of next week. We'll see if he takes it.

Although, before I buy it, I'm going to ask him to fill in the 'Gills' and respray the fenders. Then I'm ordering the STILLEN Rear Valence, and Wings West Side Skirts... And have him install and paint those as well.

Next step would be to get rid of that atrocious sound system he has in the back... I hate Bass. Then find some nice Leather seats to put in... Get the steering wheel stripped and covered in leather, Fairlady Taillights... And Hell, it would be a pretty nice car then.

So I have $2,656 in my Civic fun money account... I think that should MORE than enough take care of the costs.

So I could have a Show/Slow Car, and a Race Car... That would be pretty Damn sick :evillol:

So I could have a Show Car

It's a pretty clean ride, but you got a ways to go before thats a show car, unless your show is the local county fair. Besides, if you are using it as a daily driver, it will never be a show car.

Yuh... I'm pretty much just waiting for funds to come by. I figure I can always get the lips resurfaced any-time... and at $130 a wheel I'm gonna have to wait awhile anyway...

Guys... Look what I test drove today (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-300-ZX-2-2_W0QQitemZ4563683923QQcategoryZ6398QQssPageNameZW DVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

The car's actually very clean... The engine runs like it's brand new, the paint is gleaming, handles great. It's a really fun car. It's a bit much for what I'm into though, if you know what I'm saying.

I say get it, Wes! You can finally be one of the 2+2 brotha's. I would get rid of those 'gills' though... paint and body is sweet otherwise. Well, if it ends up being your daily driver you will probably not want to do a TT swap, huh?

Meh... I went and talked with the guy again. He is wanting WAY too much for what the car is. I offered $7,000 Cash.

He said he would take no less than $8,000 Cash. I reminded him that the car was rebuilt, and just a 1990. This didn't seem to mean anything to him.

So Fuck it, I'll find another :)

By the way, the Civic blew up today

I was at the Auto Cross this morning... I was the first run of the day. I pulled up to the Finish Line, and my buddy Erik started yelling "Your Shit's on fire man!"

... Damn, so I pulled it into the Grid area cut it off, popped the hood and disconnected the battery immediately. There's a massive oil leak somewhere, that started spewing onto the header, and caused a ton of smoke to start billowing out from under the car.

Luckily it wasn't anything serious... Just had to nurse it home (A few people followed me). It looks as if it was a combination of the CV Seals, Oil Pan Gasket, and Rear Main Seal. Keep in mind the owner before me didn't maintain this car for Shit... I'm having to reel in his slack now.

It sucks, but oh well... The perks of Racing your daily driver

(Broke, I had to put the Civic back on the Insurance... The car I was buying for Daily Driving turned out to need much more work than I was willing to put into a '92 Civic Hatchback DX... Mid 90 Compression all the way across the cylinders, it should be at around 210  )

Like I said... The plans got put on hold, we had to re-assemble everything. The Daily Driver turned out to be a mess.

Things have really sucked lately...

I'm pretty bummed about Hypsi87 (Andy Filson)... He died about a week ago. He was the GM Moderator... It sucks man.
