Guess things are different in NC... Every DSM owner here is cool as Shit, and more than willing to help anyone out.
Lee - 1991 GS-X, running 9 Second Passes
Wendy - A few different DSM's, running deep into 11 Second Passes
Jason - 1991 TSi 9 Second Passes
Jon - 1992 TSi 9 Second Passes
Ryan - 1992 GS-X 12 Second Passes
Chris - 1992 GS-X 11 Second Passes
Todd - 1997 GS-T 11 Second Passes
I've got video of every single one of these cars throwing down their times... It's amazing to see what these guys can do with those cars. And honestly, every one of the is the cooler than the one before. I can't think of one douchey DSM owner in the 910.
Must be a Canadianese thing

i agree with D, most of the DSM owners here around KC are huge douchebags. they all think their car is god even though every weekend i talk to them there is something wrong. it was funny because we were all hanging out at sonic (one of the local car hangout spots) and there was 5 DSM's all parked together, and each one had something wrong with it.

 i dont have a problem with DSM's. i always was impressed by their cheap peformance.
but the bottom line i that they still are built cheaply and by mistubishi so they are plagued by the same problems.
around here...its not that they are dousche bags. its the fact that all of them have the same tacky ways to "pimp" out their car. :gay:

on a side note: i saw a mint condition 280zx today. totally stock, totally perfect, this thing looked to have less then 10k miles on it. amazing...never seen it before but he was driving around my home town.
HA...I saw a beautiful 240Z yesterday! It too looked like it hadn't been driven more than 10K miles. Go figure...it's like all the nice classic Z cars are coming out all of a sudden...lol.

AH HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAH HAAAAAA
I don't even know anyone with these cars. :dunno: I've only ever seen...like...2 modded TSi type eclipse/talon/lasers here...if that...and I've lived here nearly 10 years. Oh...and...what the hell is DSM? Isn't that Domestic Service Market? What the hell does that have to do with Talons and what not?
I've always liked the cars. Turbo...all wheel drive...kinda cool looks (the old ones kick ass and I even like the newer GS-Ts and GS-Xs...I just want to BITCH SLAP the pecker wood at Mitsu that did away with the turbo models...that was the only cool thing about the cars!)...but I know that they have lots of issues with reliability...especially the old school ones and that's what I'd get if I ever did get one. I just don't wanna get a car that's gunna be broken more than it's racing. Never got that when people brag about their car and all even though it never runs right.

DSM = Diamond Star Motors
it was when Mitsubishi was merged with Chrysler Corporation. Eagle, Plymouth, etc. they all had Diamond Star's as a badge.
i didnt realize that they still did business with each other until i met this girl last night with a Dodge Stratus. same exact drivetrain thats in my mother's Mistubishi Eclipse, right down to the Gear Selector. cheap pieces of crap...
BTW: wireless connection is so badass...im in my grage right now. i couldn't ask for much more except cable to be ran out here so i can watch television.

wireless is awesome, me and my friend were driving around and we got in a disagreement about something, and he had his laptop with him and we didnt want to drive back home, so we drove into a residental area, found a signal, and parked outside a house and sat in the car and went on the internet.

i never understood people who spend their lives hacking into computer systems and stuff. sounds like a useless soul to me that has nothing better to do. for example: what is the benefit if attaching viruses to files, what purpose does this serve to the person attaching the virus or spyware? on the average persons computer, there isnt much anyone would care to see...

... What... The... Hell.
Never dump your crap into my section again, none of us even have a 4X4, so why on Earth would we care about your Hippi ideals?
So you're going around messing with peoples cars, because you don't like them? It's their hard earned money, and what say should you have in what cars they drive, what makes YOUR opinion so much better?
What kind of car do you drive? Do you ride a bike? Wonder if someone went around with hacksaws destroying bikes because they don't think it's a good idea to ride a bike?
Personally, I don't like SUV's... I'm a fuel efficient Honda guy. That doesn't mean everyone is, and that doesn't mean everyone SHOULD BE. What you people don't relize, is that not everyone sees eye to eye, and if someone works and earns THEIR money so they can drive a car that THEY want to. So be it! I don't have a problem with them. I do, however, have a problem with retarded college students with way to much time on their hands that go around rocking, and spray painting SUV's... For what purpose? To show how much of an Ass you are?
You're a drain on society, I hope you get what's coming to you.

Now really though. What was the point of posting her shit here though? I really dont think she thought out her target audiance very well. And wtf is with damaging other peoples cars? All that is going to do is get people to think your a retarded thug. :shakehead
I can't say I am the least bit surprised that Greenpeace doesn't want to have anything to do with her. Its people like her that give the well educated, thoughtful and respectable greenies a bad name. By all means if you have a problem with something then knock yourself out and protest. But damaging other peoples property is.... well.... stupid. All of the SUV's in the Land Rover dealersip would be under insurance anyway. So her little spree wouldnt have cost them anything and only caused them anymore than an inconvenience.
Now lets compare this to what it would cost her. She will most likely end up with a criminal record against her name for her little jaunt. Plus court costs. Plus she will have to pay for the damage she caused. Plus she will get her ass fined to high heaven for her stupidity. And given the new terror laws that have put in place in the UK since the train blasts, I dont think they will look upon her case to kindly. And if your reading this, Rene, your a dumb bitch and I hope they prosecute you to the fullest extent.
...You " thoroughly charmed the police " ... Ill give you the tip, they were laughing at you not with you. :iceslolan

I can't stand people like that... I want to see her mess with a Porsche Cayenne, and it turn out to be some thug's car. I'd pay to see the outcome of that
I emphasized the Honda part to make a point... I could have said "I'm drive a Honda now, well, I still love 300ZedX's, but I simply cannot afford the maintenance... Not to mention that they take Premium Fuel, and don't get very good gas mileage... And they're expensive, did I mention that already? Anyway, I drive a Honda now, and you're a stupid Bitch."
I think saying "I'm a Honda guy" is MUCH simpler

so i have been thinking...
AWD 240Z with an RB25DET...Daily Driveability for winter, summer, and track. :evillol:
then i can get rid of this damn GTP and its car payment and buy a CBR1000RR :D
anyways back to the 240Z idea...how hard could it possibly be?
source a GTR front axle and supension and customize it fit. im think a 240Z would be easier beings everything is basic. all new mounting spots could be easily placed somewhere on the 240Z. :D
i have been thinking too hard and much...but i think it would be a good idea, just costly.

That's so fun. I was in that position around this time last year. There were 5 cars at my house THREE of them mine......and I was only 20 or 21 at the time...I had more cars than both of my parents combined. HA...I miss that.
While you're putting a sub in, I'm busy planning stuff for the engine. I have picked out my turbo with a TON of help from JasonZ31 from the Z31 board. VERY cool guy.
Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Garrett-GT35-40R-Turbo-GT-35-40R-T3-T04-V-Band-GT35R_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQitemZ79798 08823QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V) it is. Well...one like it, anyway. Get it with a T3 flange and it's a direct bolt on! FUN!
That'll be 6 months or so from now, probably...maybe a bit sooner. But it's in the works and that's all that matters. All that's left is getting the cam gears off and getting the heads off, then it's off to the speed shop! Hell yea.

AWD 240Zed would be quite a project... You'd end up using the entire engine bay of the R32 GTR, and rear portion of the car as well.
I've learned quite a bit about this type of stuff due to some of the Honda projects I've helped with. Rear Engine Del Sols, and such. It's not an easy task, at all... It makes my head spin actually. Meh... I wouldn't touch it.

i dont think it would be that hard. just need to learn how to weld good and buy a laser cutter. :D
but think about the outcome...Skyline powered 240Z. im thinking how much fun it would be on snow. :evillol:

Now that I have tipped the Off-Topic thread over to the next thousand, thats $3400 for the 530s with the 5 bolt downpipes included, read the rest of the print. So you're only paying about $2800 for the turbos, which is about how much you can get them at other places for.

Oh dont worry, I saw it...
they did... how do you think australia got so populated
Bitch :icon16: Dont forget, in 4 months im gonna be on your doorstep... literally... :evillol:
so i have been thinking...
AWD 240Z with an RB25DET...Daily Driveability for winter, summer, and track.
then i can get rid of this damn GTP and its car payment and buy a CBR1000RR
anyways back to the 240Z idea...how hard could it possibly be?
source a GTR front axle and supension and customize it fit. im think a 240Z would be easier beings everything is basic. all new mounting spots could be easily placed somewhere on the 240Z.
i have been thinking too hard and much...but i think it would be a good idea, just costly.
Well there is one similar for sale over here. ITs AWD with a worked L28 in it. Instead of using a GTR axel, would it be easier to use GTi-R parts? Maybe due to the GTi-R being smaller the parts might be a better fit or without as much fabrication. nb this is pure guesswork. I have no idea if it would work. And given that it is pulsar based instead of Skyline based, the parts might be a bit cheaper.
If the dude still has his for sale ill go and have a look at his and see how he did it.

yeah, do that for me...this project really intrigues me. technically i coul take an axles from just about any AWD car unless it was FWD biased like mitsubishi. maybe a subaru AWD system. :naughty:

yeah maybe...
as for the insurance company dilemma. i figure insurance on a 240Z wont be expensive at all and i have a 2+2 N/A Z32 for all they know. and who the hell puts insurance on a motorcycle...:evillol:
i figure, i wont do much damage to another car even if it happens to be my fault which more than likely will not beings i would be scared to death of a bike. yeah i would be taking a big chance but hey...you live and you learn. i dont think i will ever be able to afford insurance on a sport bike. its ridiculous...
ehh...we will see. the 240Z would obviously by a very long on-going project and i dont know if i want to get a bike yet for the simple fact that it would be a hard decision every summer morning whether to take the Z32 or the bike.

I feel really stupid asking this, but;
when I purchased my car, it came with an MBC, and I didn't want to up the boost until I did a few replacements, but now that those are done, I'm ready to do it; my question is, when I pull out the knob on the MBC do I turn it to the right or to the left to up the boost? Thanks for lookin'

i'd be careful.. if it's a homemade mbc, you might be turning the boost up to 150 psi rather than 10... if it's one of the store bought ones with an actual guage thing on it that lets you be sure of how much psi it's actually letting it go to you should be fine... make sure you install an aftermarket boost guage when you start boosting past stock tho..
xXxRocker5150
09-26-2005, 10:18 PM
well It doesn't have a gauge on it, but I don't think it's a home-made one, I'm only trying to boost to 6 PSI until I get my exhaust, I was gonna' use the stock gauge for the level test... or do you think I'd just do better from buying that EBC lol...
freakonaleash1187
09-26-2005, 10:48 PM
stock boost gauges usually suck on accuracy, i would get an aftermarket one to be safe.
