My fuel injectors flow 615cc a minute. At 90% duty cycle thats about 550cc. Which means at 90% I'm burning 3.3 liters a minute, which is about .85 of a gallon. That means my 19 gallon tank is going to be dry in about 22 minutes.

So, at wide open throttle (90%) in 5th gear figure I'd be moving 180mph (for the sake of argument). In the 22 minutes of fuel I have I'll get 65 miles (oh but what a 65 miles that would be!). Thats about 3.5 miles per gallon.

Actually it's not so much that they make more torque at a given horsepower rating its that they make less horsepower at a given torque rating. A 400 lbs of torque twin cam will almost always make more horsepower than a 400 lbs of torque single cam. Remember, horsepower is a measure of torque over time, aka how much power you have and how fast you can get to it.

This trend can be seen else where. If you look at a dyno chart for a Twin Turbo running stock turbos near the edge of their air flow capacity you'll find they tend to make a bit more torque than horsepower. This is because they are burning more fuel and thus making more power (torque) but the engine is having to push against a more and more restrictive turbo so the horsepower starts to drop off.

Time is not directly involved in the calculations but it's one of the varibles that go into making the power that the math and dynos register. This is why small engines with low torque outputs that can rev quickly will make a good deal more horsepower than torque.

Right, for the reasons I explained up there, a modified VG30ET will tend to make more torque then horsepower due to limitations of the single cam design. Aside from the VG30ET and what low horsepower V8s are stilling being made, most modern engines will make more horsepower than torque and just about every engine will eventually make more horsepower than torque, as seen in the example you posted up there.

i don;t know if this has been covered. but also remember that a single turbo will tend to be larger than 2 singles, and usually larger turbos produce more torque than smaller ones. therefore, it may not be the motor that produces less torque but more in the turbo setup.

James Campbell, who was driving behind the girls, said he swerved to avoid the bra and his car flipped several times. Campbell, 37, broke a vertebra in his neck during the Sept. 26 accident. His passenger, Jeff Long, 40, broke several ribs.

A State Highway Patrol crash report, obtained by The Blade, said that the girls told investigators that before the accident the men were motioning to them to lift up their shirts. Both men denied making the gestures.

Davis will be charged next week with misdemeanor littering, said Tim Atkins, a juvenile prosecutor in Wood County. Atkins said he'll meet with troopers before filing the charge.

The girl's friend, Tabitha Adams, 17, of Bowling Green, said she told Davis not to hang her bra outside because she knew it would fly away, according to the report.

Atkins said no other charges were expected.
