Oh... speaking of which... AMZ now carries Aluminum and CF drive-shafts... under $800 for the CF one!

AMZ carries alot of new stuff. im really looking at mitch's stage II turbos. i need to do more research them, spool up times. some research and development would be nice but i dont know of anybody that has them.

as far as I know the zx's drivetrain strength isn't really that much of an issue... now if I owned a 3000GT that I was intending to upgrade, than that would more than likely be the first upgrade I did to the car

usually people just get lighter driveshafts so they can get more power, not becuase the stock driveshaft is week.

yeah upgraded drive shafts are def. to reduce recipricating weight and mass, youd be suprised how much drivetrain loss of power can be gained back with a lighter driveshaft., infact for numbers purpose the one piece steel driveshaft that Z1 makes is 14 lbs lighter than the stock two-piece. thats the steel one. i wont even go any further with Al. and CF weights, but someone seemed suprised that CF driveshafts are made, yet the 350Z comes from the factory with a CF composite driveshaft. neeto

I thought about it. Sometimes I would like to. But it would be a waste if I end up going TT. All my other cars were MT and I almost didn't buy the ol' girl because she was AT. If I got TT I really think I would stay AT though... for drag-racing purposes. As for the NA AT... I'm beefing her up a bit in time. Most likely she'll stay the AT.

As for 2+2 exhaust'... choices are limited. GReddy SP2 or Labree from Specialty Z. Personally I like the SP2 but most hate it 'cus of the curled lip on the tips. I'm sure there are a few more out there too... but it's really just searching for them and hoping some-one has an old GReddy MX (which are discontinued BTW). Or you could always find a source in Japan. ;)

I hear that the lebre sounds nice and is good for performance too... n.e. where I can get some sound clips for either???

my response to the driveshaft convo:

aluminum driveshafts arent as durable and if they break you could easily see it go right through the floor board. i have seen it happen and will never put myself in the predicament. dirt racing cars break them all the time...trust me.

CF driveshaft just isnt worth the money IMO. id rather spend that money on actually making the motor create more power.

350Z vs. TTZ

about even...TTZ has the slight edge but i bet the 300hp performance model 350Z will handle its own.

as for 2+2 exhausts...almost every exhaust out there offers a longer version for the 2+2!

yeah, who rebuilds a TTZ back to stock form. only a sissy or a 60 year old man would do that. :nono:

in most cases a 6-speed is better for drag but not in all. shorter gears keeping the RPMs higher will result in quicker 1/4 mile times usually.

but DZ...it is a driver's race but i think i would give the advantage to the TTZ if it were in brand new form.
