i was supposed to put my tires on my wheels and put my wheels on my car today during auto tech class. i was so damn excited. i get there and the fucking seniors and dicking around, like they do everyday (thought they were supposed to be the mature ones, HA!) anyways, the teacher comes in and gets tired of it and makes us watch videos the whole hour. so because of those fucking seniors, i don't have my wheels on my car yet. and this isn't the first time they have done this, we weren't able to work in the shop earlier this year because of them dicking around. pisses me the fuck off.

Just want to "unload" some of stress I aquired today. If this distracts from the conversation, feel free to ignore it.

Gripe #1, "Old People"! Now, I understand that older people should be respected for their life experiences, and in that sense I do respect 'em. Call them "sir" or "mame", hold the door open for them, etc. But when you reach the age where you forget where the f*@#$% gas pedel is, then throw away your license and get the hell off the highway! I mean, like it's not bad enough with all the holiday shopper traffic, so "grandpa" decides that the left lane is the perfect place to find out how slow his '67 Ford pickup will idle!

Gripe #2, And speaking of holiday shopper traffic, my next bitch is about small females in "BIG" SUV's who think if their vehicle is larger than yours, then that automatically gives them the right of way. They can't see over the dashboard, they never use their mirrors unless it's to check their hair, and they drive these Yukons and Expeditions through parking lots like Steve McQueen in the film "Bullet"! All, while their little "crumb crunchers" climb over the entire interior.

Gripe #3, People in check out lines who want to "shoot the breeze" with the cashier while everyone else behind them waits for their lungs to run out of gas! Or the guy who can't tend to business at the counter because he's busy talking to his buddy or girlfriend on a cell phone!

O.K., that's enough bitchin' for one evening. But I'll say this: If there really is a Santa Clause, then what I want for Christmas is a brand new Ford GT-40, (sales tax paid of course), and the entire U.S. interstate system all to myself while every cop has 4 flat tires. I deserve that much just for dealing with these kinds of folks today and not shooting somebody!

yeah i have always said that about older people. once they reach age 60 MOST of them act like they are the only ones on the road. and then you pass them doing the spped limit that want to give you a dirty look. WTF?!?!?! no offense to any older people that actually know how to drive but someone needs to tighten up some laws on this s***. i see old people all the time just run red lights and shit for no reason. actually, just the other day i saw an old person in a brand new park avenue drive up onto a median. road the median until it ended. he didnt just hop off of it, he just road it. sparks flying everywhere....

DAMN! i swear, vacuum and fuel lines do not like me. my brother, his friend, and i worked on getting my upper plenum off yesterday to replace my injector and after 5 hours, it is still sitting inside the hangar with the intake halfway sitting on there. i think i am going to recruit my dad (has been a mechanic for 30 years), he knows all the tricks. welp, lets see if i can get my injector replaced today.

i am so depressed. i can't get my intake off, i can't get my intake back on. and my dad isn't going to work on it until next weekend. so this whole week it is just going to sit there. i am going to go lay down, i think that is what i am going to do all this week.

*EDIT* if i snap on somebody, don't take it personal. on any little thing i swear i am going to explode.

why exactly can't you get it off? too much shit in the way or just some inaccessable bolts?

this is the first time i have done something "major" to my z, to any car at that (besides rebuilding a saturn and 350 engine in auto tech class, but those were already on an engine stand). i just can't get a coupe vacuum lines off, and the vacuum lines that i am trying to get off i don't know if they are even the ones still holding the plenum down. i just think i got in over my head on this one. being i have very little mechanical experience, good thing i have a dad with 30 years of experience. here is a pic of how she sits now.

Uh...right...you first....

Anyway, the real bitch of getting the upper plenum off is the EGR plumbing in the back. Easiest way is just to remove it all, but frankly, I don't think thats even possible when the engine is in the car. And since you're not going to pull the engine to replace a fuel injector, I can only recommend that you pull all the bolts holding the plenum down, try to lift it up and see where it is caught. Thats really about all you can do some times. I'll dig through some pictures of my engine tear down, check the manual and see if I can find some answers.

I see you've already undone the EGR arms... Im guessing you have the 8 Main support bolts off the center... The coil packs... O and on your EFI Harness... get some trash bag ties, and cut some cardboard up with holes punched in them, and attach them on the EFI Plugs in this order

3--4
1--2

That way you wont lose track... Because thats no good when it comes to reassembly.

Lol take a better picture, can't see you... and did you just take a picture of a picture? Should I cut my hair short or leave it long like it is (looks shorter than it is in the pic because I push it back also just withought the bandana). I've been thinking of cutting it short (2"-3.5") and dying it artificial cherry red, I liked having blue hair but it jsut got annoying because my hair was so long.

well, my dad took my plenum off in 1 hour by himself. and i found out that i need the new style injector, not the old style, so now i have to get one of those in the mail. so yeah, probably won't have my z back until this weekend.

Lol dreads would make me fit right in here, I go to an environmental science school so they're EXTREEMLY common, then again long hair is even more common, I was one of 3 people out of less than a thousand last year who had blue hair lol. I see my old algebra 2 book on the desk in front of you, still in highschool?

I had a huge blue fro when my hair was doing that, still gets a bit poofy even now because I bleached the hell outta it every time I dyed it blue (like once a month for over a year). I'm not even gonna show you it at that stage, blue and fro makes me look like a fucking clown... Friends still call me a clown every now and again.

Yet you don't have a digital camera... If your parents are rich ask for a 10D or a digital rebel or something sweet,
the delay on any digital point and shoot is a big hastle so get a SLR if you don't mind spending the extra $1,000.00
