Well quit roughing up the staff then. Remember those are the people you'll be dealing with the next time you break yourself, which going off the recent trend is going to be some time next week. I imagine that courthouse has some big stairs out front doesn't it?
Anyway, based just off the very rough ball park of injector duty cycle my car is making around 425-450 horsepower. Apparently those cams were worth it because the hardest part about driving the car is keeping it under redline, you can really feel them coming on once you get over 3000 rpm, it just keeps pulling and pulling and pulling...

 yes, those stairs are tricky too. but trust me, i am really careful with stairs now-a-days. my buddy made fun of me the other day because he said "you got balls made of steel when it comes to riding a motorcycle, but you walk up stairs like my grandmother". if only knew the amount of pain i endured from a flight of stairs he would understand.

sounds like fun...well i have sold almost all of big mods so i will be running a stock motor other than an upped compression ratio due to the JE pistons and virtually all basic bolt-ons. only big mod i ahve left to sell is the turbos. injectors, intercoolers, Doolz, etc are all gone. its sad but whatever...screw my car. it isnt even a 2 seater

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !
Yeah I know scary.
Anyway, I was just there getting some wheel locks taken off so don't think I've lost my mind.
Funny part: I was standing at the service desk and there was a guy talking to a salesman about the 350Z track model that was on the floor. I happened to be watching as he looked outside, did a double take upon seeing my Z and stared at it for a while before asking the sales guy: "Do you have any more like that one out there?"

Wednesday afternoon one of the project managers said he'd email me with the rest of the weeks work load. But of course I couldn't get onto the company email system at home. So after another lovely hour commute this morning I open my email to:
"Well looks like we're pretty much covered for the week so why don't you take the next two days off."
****.
Anyway, I headed over to the truck shop that I used to drive as they had a rig in Portland they needed to bring up and didn't have anyone available. I took an Amtrak down, which was pretty cool. The railway runs right along Puget Sound so the view was nice, you can get up and walk around, get something eat, don't have some fat guy in the seat next to you with his rolls hanging over your armrest like you would on a plane...anyway...right, trains are cool. Cheap too, $22 from Tacoma to Portland. Picked up this:
http://worktrucksales.com/8946-2006fordlcf55van.htm
Funny story on this one. Some guy down in Florida bought it off a Ford lot, licensed it in Florida, drove it all the way to Washington and abandoned it. Must have cost him $45,000-$50,000 between the truck, taxes, license and everything else and he just abandoned it. WTF? So Ford Motor Credit repoed it and now Work Truck has it.
Anyway, if you need a really nice low mileage box truck (3700 miles) then I got one I can recommend.

i bet i could plug in a few holes in that story to better explain the question; "WTF?" a few educated guesses would lead me to believe that that truck was used for something with no intention of keeping it and it was abandoned for obvious reasons.
but what do i know...im just getting home at 7am on friday morning after a very good night including more drinking than a care to remember. lets just say, i left the house with $275 in hand and i now have 67 cents and i dont remember where it went. i am sure there were probably strippers and lots of booze involved. anyways, to those drunken thursday nights.

Then why the fuck would they spend $50,000 on a brand new truck when they could have gotten the same thing for $10,000.
Usually what happens is someone can't make their payments. Instead of doing anything logical like try to refinance or turn it in a dealer they abandon it. I've seen something similar before but never on this scale.

well...they obviously didnt pay for the truck in full if Ford Motor Credit repoed it. why would ford care if the truck was paid for? the truck would have gotten impounded and sold in a police auction if it was paid for.
the guy probably used a false identification to take out a loan for the truck. $0 Down...blah...blah. added the liscencing and taxes to the financing sum. walked away with a brand new truck in someone elses name that couldnt be traced back to him to take care of his business.
to make it any better...with any luck at all, Ford was probably offering one of those $3000 cash back kind of ordeal and he didnt even have to pay out of pocket for gas money to get to Washington.
the way i see it...the guy is very wise. and being wise always puts money in your pocket.

Getting fianced for something like this isn't a small thing, you can't just walk in with a drivers license and drive out a LSF. That might fly with some instant finance places or a dealer lot desperate to move cars but with Ford Motor Credit doesn't work that way, least wise not on the commercial side.

AHAHAHAHAHAlol @ the "purple" reference.
Anyway, I've been watching the entire run of South Park. What's interesting is that after the first few seasons the ratio of screwball episodes that were funny but didn't really mean much and the episodes that dealt with a current hot topic in society started to shift in favor of the latter. Now well into the seventh season, having covered such topics as stem cell research, tobacco bans, racism and etc, I've realized that you can get more unbiased, sane, fact based opinions from South Park then you can all of the worlds news channels combined.
As funny as that is, it's also just fuckin' sad.

Wow... thats wierd. I was just talking to my mate about that the other day. South Park is moving away from purely being a slapstick/gross out/dodgy cartoon to actually being fairly critical on certain topics. They arent afraid to go contrary to popular opinion and arent afraid to tell something how it is. I find it quite refreshing compared to all of this politically correct tip-toeing that everyone is doing nowadays. To me the worst part about all of this is that not enough people will give credit to Matt Stone and Trey Parker for actually doing a 'community service' by informing the public information that has all the bullshit surrounding it stripped away.

Yes we have no rain. Yes it is pretty bad especially in the eastern states. The word your looking for is "drought" pronounced 'drout'
One of the 2 major rivers over east has essentially dried up at the moment and the other has stagnated. REALLY not good for the farmers at the moment. We didnt get nearly enought rain over winter and they are prediction it to be one of the driest hottest summers to date.

Don't bother with super tankers. They are too expensive. I'll just send over 100,000 Kangaroos and they can fill their pouches with water and hop back. That would be so much easier and much more cost efficient.

I dont want to imagine what it would be like actually having to stay in those temperatures.

yeah, you get used to it after a while, just have to dress for the weather and you'll be fine... it's supposed to dip below the -45 mark tonight and then start to warm up to -2 by friday, so that's going to be shorts weather compared to now.... can't wait :p

Yeah we hit 36 degrees the other day. It got down to 16 overnight last night so I had to pull up a blanket AND a Doona. Fucking cold...

65 F with it getting around 50 degrees at night the past couple weeks. beautiful late november weather. i think we set some kind of record the other day. its usually around 30 by now. but it hardly ever dips into the negatives here. the harshest of winter it hits single digits and teens and i can hardly stand that.

Formula is C=5/9(F-32)
or
F=9/5C+32
with F= degrees Farenheit and C= degrees Celcius
therefore 65 F = 18.3 C
I knew my aviation classes were good for something. . .

just for kicks, -40 degrees is the only temperature that is equal in Farenheit and Celcius.
I know y'all will sleep better now knowing that.

was a balmy -5 today... it's weird how warm that feels when you've been used to the -40's...

So I was having a shitty day at work and took the Z out for a spin at lunch. Found a nice flat, straight part of I90 and dropped it to 3rd. It's amazing how fast that speedo will spin around to triple digits. :D
It took me a hour to get the stupid grin off my face.
On a totally unrelated tangent (seriously), I'm losing my fucking mind.

But actually to be totally correct, I never really had the Z to begin with, 18-something miles is barely a test drive. So really its new ownership.
And it kicks ass.

nice...so the car seems pretty snappy. do you credit that to the headwork or the spool-up of the turbos and VG itself. from seat of your pants, what do you think it would run in the 1/4 mile?
damn...im just too anxious to know what it feels like to have a modified Z.

The cams are definately noticable, from 3000 to redline it pulls like mad. It's a bit flat in the bottom end but you're not going to be pulling from 2000 rpm anyway. What little head work I did was limited to gasket/port matching on the upper plenums and heads, there was surprising amount of material that stuck out (almost an 1/8th of an inch in some places) and it was removed. I don't think that has too much of an effect but it's not like it hurt. Spool up is pretty much on demand in any gear over 3000 rpm. It only takes about a second to second and a half to get to full boost, which is around 13 psi right now.
As for the 1/4 mile, I would imagine low 15s because the rear tires would spin through first and second if I just mashed the throttle. I could probably pull a low 13 consistently if I got good at launching and kept the rear planted, I might even get lucky and hit a high 12. Given some good tires and practice I should be around the low to mid 12 area. I've been checking the schedule for one of the local strips but they're not having an open event for a while being that it's winter. I have been planning to make use of the speed timing functions of the DataScan program (0-60, 0-100, etc) but without a proper set of tires it's pretty pointless. I'm waiting for a decent set of TT wheels to come up so I can buy a full set 245/45/16 rubber and run the 8.5" TT rears on all four corners.
