Got my A6 Pistons for the Civic today...

I've got to set aside a long ass day for the install... It certainly wont be fun... But damn, will it have an effect.

The A6 pistons will bring the compression ratio up from 8.5:1 all the way to 10.75:1 :evillol:

Which will bump the Horse Power up another 15-17 easily. After I get the Y8 head gasket, the power will increase another 2-3. And when the Megan Headers go on... Another 16-20 (dyno proven)

So damn... The thing is going to be thoroughly fun after this... Only thing is, I'll have to get a V-AFC before I do any head work, because the power will be too much

I'll take pictures tonight.

And I guarantee you this Shitvic will run you and any other Non-Turbo on this forum down, after its all said and done :evillol:

Dont worry guys, its a project...

Anyways, we've decided its going to take too long to swap into the existing engine... So we're buying another D16Z6 from the junk yard and doing all of the work on it, and swap it when all of the work is done.

-A6 Pistons
-Y8 Head Gasket
-New Bearings
-Shaved Head
-Three Angle Valve Job
-Titanium Valve Springs
-New Valve Guides
-Megan Headers
-Catalytic Converter Delete
-10.3mm Plug Wires
-Tunable FPR with Gauge
-Excedy Stage II Clutch
-ZEX Lightweight Flywheel
-AEM Fuelrail with DSM 450cc Injectors
-V-AFC (VTEC Air Fuel Control)

I dont care what you guys say... This thing is going to fly. The work will start as soon as I get the engine... And the entire project should be getting wrapped up at the start of the summer.

Then Im going to drive up to Canada... And woop your ass Delerious

how much money will you spend on this civic???

you could have sold the civic, bought a Z32 shell and swapped in a TT drivetrain and still have money to spare for TT upgrades to get it to 350rwhp...

but whatever you wish...this whole forum is turning into a bunch of RICERS!!! just joking guys...i know wes is going for an all motor civic that will stomp most civics out but i think Jorge is in deep depression or something...

And that is such an achievement.

My engine is also coming together, short block will be reassembled in the next week or two after the new bearings and rings show up. You ever see a shiny new set of heat coated pistons? Beautiful.

Another pay check or two and I'll have enough to cover the bill on the downpipes, manifolds and turbos (lump sum packaging gets discounts) and then it's just a matter of putting the engine back together and back in the car.

And I will be right here Wes, just incase you ever want see what a fast car looks like.

I'm gonna put my boot so far up your ass, Jason... you'll taste the leather! :iceslolan

So, I was at ESCORT yesterday and I'm also thinking about getting their hood. Super light. JDM front will come first along with the "747 Wing". Then I'll just have them installed and painted all at once.

I'm saving money to buy my SAFC, exhaust, and headers right now. I'll probably have ESCORT tune my AFC. As soon as these mods are done I'm going into a hiatus for awhile and buying a nice daily driver for me... Maybe an old B13 Sentra SER.

Speaking of Headers... have any of you tried installing these? I heard it's a B'yatch!

hey wes, i dont know much about handa motors but isnt the D series pretty weak compared to the B series and H series ?????

D Series can hold its own bro... B16/18 F22 and H22 are ideal motors... But Im keeping this simple, I dont want to go crazy and relize a month from now 'shit, I've spent 5grand on this thing'

Its going to be a simple project, 100 bucks here, 100 bucks there for a few months... Those pistons I got are typically $95 a piece, and rings are another $35 per piston... I got the pistons brand new for $100, all rings, all pistons, new in box, never opened.

Anyways, Broke... I havent forgotten what a real machine is. I know that Civic isnt a fast car, Im just making it a bit more fun... And seeming as its staying in my driveway as the race car, I may as well slap some go fast parts into it.

Delerious, I happen to think my Civics an okay looking car. Yes, it may be common, but down here, my car is one of the few un-riced Civics. So its more uncommon, than it is common... Sort of... Ok not really.

But stop stressing me driving a Civic... Its a temporary thing until the summer comes around, then I've got something nifty coming out of the garage :evillol:

uhh...Jorge, those are "pleather", SON!!! :lol2:

And that is such an achievement.

i just realized how true this is a couple days ago...i mean the 300zx N/A is a quick car but after being 15 years old it has lost some get up and compared to todays car it is pretty weak...most luxury cars are in the 14's in the 1/4 mile now-a-days. maybe its just me...sorry N/A owners including myself, its just how i feel. my advice, make your N/A faster so it holds its name even in N/A form!!! :D

anyways, i think now that i have a nice car that i can count on to get me to and fro...i think i am going to do my TT swap the right way the first time. maybe not all the internal parts to make 500hp but all the things i really wanted...like the solid motor mounts, lightened flywheel, downpipes, testpipes, boost controller, ECU upgrade, Z1 1-piece driveshaft, honed/Powdercoated upper plenum, etc. i might as well hold off and do it right the first time instead of doing it half ass and goign back later and fixing it. might take a little longer but it will get done...ok im done now. i thought i would just keep you guys posted on my progress and ideas as some of you care, i think. :)

wes, i used to like the way some civics looked, but i've just seen soooooooo many horribly done up ones it has ruined my image of civics forever... now that's starting to become borderline all honda's besides the nsx s2000 and 4th/5th gen preludes... i've seen more rice on hondas than any man should ever see in his life... maybe it's just the area i live in, maybe it's just dumb canadians, i dunno, but honestly every 3rd civic/integra has some sort of big ass fart can/loopy ass body kit.. it's sad to the point of depressing... it'd be awesome to live where you do and see all those amazing cars driving around all the time... sure some of em are assholes but at least they care about their car enough to drive it relatively responsibly...

long story short... i hate talons....

I hear ya' Delerious... 90% of Civics, Eclipses, Escorts etc are riced beyond recognition. But the other 10% of us, have an idea of whats going on outside the Fast and Furious lifestyle.

Example: My buddy Tom has a 1995 Civic EX. Completely stock on the exterior, interior, and even the stock wheels (with performance tires). But the car has a B16A with an SRS Turbo system (SRS Turbo systems place the turbo in the back where the muffler should be, and run the plumbing accordingly.

So his car looks stock... Even if you pop the hood, and dont know what your looking for.

See that is a well done Honda... And thats what Im going for here.

Anyways, I see everything from an F1 355 Ferrari Spyder, to a 'suped up' 1992 Ford Escort... This is truely a great town

i've always wondered about those SRS turbo systems... is there a reason they put the turbo all the way at the back of the car? is it because of space constraints or heat issues? i'm thinking it would be much more efficient to run the turbo right close to the engine because that's where the gas has most energy... after it's been thrown together twice (depending on the headders) shot through all those bends and length of piping, then slammed against the turbine, you think it would have lost some of the oomph that it had way back in the primaries... also, that's a lot of boost piping to run under the car as well... wouldn't you get a bit of pressure loss on that as well?? i dunno, maybe i'm missing something, but it just doesn't seem as efficient to me... anyone care to elaborate?

ZedEx
02-22-2005, 02:57 PM
They actually dyno tested a direct manifold Type R Integra, and their SRS system... Same turbine size, same everything... And the SRS system actually proved the be better... Kind of blew my mind too.

i know that kind of turbo set-up is real popular on the camaros and other f-bodies and it has been discussed on AF before and those systmes lose power but not enough to be able to tell from your seat. its a pretty neat little set-up...i found it interesting.

I'm glad this is a small town and it all got rammed through the court quickly. They must be bored of traffic tickets and noise ordance violations.

Anyway, both offendees having done their community service, everything should be over with.

It would seem the rest of the United States in under about ten feet of standing water from a few continous weeks of rain.

It hasn't rained here in months.

This is a place with an honest-to-God-no-bullshit-scientifically-classified rain forest. The only temperate rain forest in the world in fact.

It has been 50 and sunny for the last month.

Meaning the road gets nice and warm but the air is still nice and cold.

Which is just about perfect driving weather.

You got your warm road, good for traction and cold air, good for power.

We fuckin owned this guy at the cabinet shop where I work. Also known as:

"Why it does not pay to be an asshole."

About a month and a half ago some jacknut that looked like he stepped straight out of some bad Indian porno flick (as in elephant riding, forehead dot wearing Indian) comes in to get a bid on cabinets for his new house. Not to be too much of a racist asshole but this guy was a dick. Those familar with the Indian caste system will know that anyone who has to work for a living is pretty much considered sub-human by anyone who doesn't. And apparently this guy doesn't. Give you an idea of how it went:

1. He didn't even talk to me. Everything went from him to his whipped ass "assistant" then to me, from me to the assistant who then groveled for a minute before addressing the sultan of sucknut. Answering one question took about two minutes.

2. He demanded a discount for the "service to the American economy" he had done by investing in some pissant plastic company in the area.

3. He proclaimed all of our showcase work (to include houses in the nationally known "Street of Dreams" in Seattle) to be "utterly insufficent".

Frankly I'm surprised he humbled himself enough to come out of his ass and into the world of the commoners.

Anyway, about twenty five minutes in I managed to tear myself away and get back to my bosses office, where I proceeded to request permission to leave this guys shit in ruins. But then we came up with a better idea. Stuffing my dignity down my throat for the next half hour, I played along and got all the info we would need to build this jackoffs cabinets. Even gave him a delivery date. Assholio departs and I promptly dump all of the house plans in the trash. Take that fucker.

For the next month his assistant is calling twice a week to check the status of their order and is readily assured all is well. Then he starts calling everyday. Seems they fucked up their building permit and had the utilites inspection in two weeks. They had been waiting to wire and drywall the place until the final cabinet designs were in. Meaning that quite a few things that will come up on the impending inspection weren't done. But supposedly they gone over what need to be done, when they were told they would have our cabinets (in a week) and planned use the remaining week to finish just what was going to be gone over (which could have been done if we weren't full of shit).

:D Sometimes you just get lucky.

Naturally, since we haven't done a damn thing with his plans except turn them into nice thin little ribbons, there is no way that he'll be getting anything from us. And it's too late for anyone else to spit out a set for him. So we keep leading him on even as the date passes (last Friday). Now his assistant is calling multiple times a day, frantic, trying desperately to get done whatever they could and still be able to put the cabinets in. Finally this Wednesday we just start ignoring him.

The great dung bung himself came down today, apparently having just lost his permit, demanding to see the owner and threatening lawsuits (Which was groundless since no contract was ever made. We weren't doing anything illegal, we were just being assholes :D) and this and that. I just sit there with a big grin on my face and listen for about ten minutes until he runs out of breath. If he had glared at me any harder his eyes would have popped out. This is fun. He then demanded to know what we planned to do about it.

"I don't know, why don't you get bent?"

At this point my boss comes out of the back laughing so hard he barely tell the guy to get the fuck out of our office before he calls the police. He sputters some more but finally gets the point and takes off.

Being a jerk never felt so good.

He builds custom houses as well and does alot of the work himself, to include alot of land clearing, painting and finishing work. Whenever he's not out at a building site hes at the cabinet shop either building/spraying them or doing the detail drawings. A hell of a gift with words.

Especially given what is essentially just a supplementry manuscript written in spare time.

The other piece is even better.

And section 41...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Quite a good piece.

Not perfect. Things were a bit curtailed towards last part and a few seemingly impossible situations were solved rather simply.

But far and above anything else on the subject.

Better than the souce work itself perhaps.

Though I am not quite as familar with it as I should be if I'm going to say that.

Whatever.

ya cant argue with that!!! :D

anyways, i started dropping the tranny today. so much easier now that the bolts havent been stuck on there for 15 years. since i just did this about a year ago...anyways, its going pretty smooth, just need to find some trays to catch the fluid when i unbolt a couple of the hard pipe bolts. then its time to start unbolting the tranny itself. just thought i would keep you guys updated....if any of you have any hints or tricks to make everything easier, im all ears. :D

hahahahahahaha that's hilarious

anyway guys, one of my buddies just bought an 85 z31 not too long ago, and he brought it out tonight... pretty cool car, bit of rust and an ugly paint colour, but it's got some sweet oldschool rims on it, as well as a turbo hood i think... might be one of those crappy bolt on scoops, but he said he was going to take it off if it was... i didn't get a very good look at it cause it was dark out.. i'll try and get some pics next time i see him

Well think of it, how many of you have known a ear? I've seen people with big ears, little ears no ears, but never just a ear. I'd like to see a picture of that.
I don't think it's funny at all, kinda sad. Just all ears!
No sex, can't drink a beer, I'll bet it's even hard driving a car.
