Yeah im gonna have to go the GTi-R :p While the hatch part of it isnt anything special the front of it just looks so mean. That and they go so much harder and more reliable and more fuel efficient that a Z31. Performance parts for the GTi-R are a lot easier to come by as well
now i just gotta start saving for my gti-r/gtr/soarer/something z from japan lol
HAHAHAHAHA.... Ive planted the seed and now it will grow... the koolness factor will take over and consume your life...

I think the PZC has got something that no other section on AF has. Even if we all start driving something else, we'd probably keep coming back just to chat in this big Ass thread
By the way, I'll post video of the event... I must say it scared the living Shit out of me.

nothing about that car looks mean or agressive in any way. if anything the hood looks totally out of place.
you guys just dont love the Z cars as much as you say you do, posers. there would have to be a damn good reason for me to get rid of my Z...like my newly born son needs a surgery an the only way i can pay for is to sell my car but even then i will probably find another way, like taking out a large loan or refinancing my house. bottom line: i wouldnt be getting rid of my Z that is paid for because it isnt practical. id pick up something practical and put the Z in storage.

thats still not cool...id much rather chat in the Past Z Car forum with a group of guys that actually own Past Z Cars. :D
xxxrocker: sounds good man...now stick to the plan. once you start modding it will never stop. you will spend more and more money on your car leaving just enough money to pay your bills, eat, and put gas in the car to go to work. its addicting...and i havent even gotten to drive my car with mods.

alright, fine, that's it... i'm tired off all this fucking stuck upness of a few members on here.. Yes, i love z cars, yes, i will always want to own one, no, i will not always own one.. why? because they're not practical cars to own. right now for me? fine.. i'm working, i can pay the bills, no big deal. however in the spring when i go back to school, i won't have that money there and i will need a car that i can rely on to get me back and forth to school cheaply and consistantly for my entire time at school. now i've never had a problem with either of my z's, but both of them are a far ways away from running perfectly every day. it will get much worse if i start modifying, which is why i'm not going to start past what i've done already. if you can't accept that, too bad for you, it's what's happening.... and no you can not insult me for not doing something that would not benefiet me, or the car in the long run.
this is why come snow melting time, i'm going to most likely get myself a nice pulsar for around 8-9k... it will be paid off right away (after saving for the winter) it will be good on gas when i want it to, it will be reliable and take well to mods that aren't going to hurt the engine in the long run, and most importantly i'll have space to put all of my school stuff and haul around 4 other people if need be. or, when winter comes again next year, i won't have to look for another car because mine will be perfectly suited for winter time, small, all wheel drive, good for hauling stuff up to the local ski hill, and most of all... a hell of a lot of fun.
just because the car doesn't have the sleek lines of the z doesn't mean it looks like crap... some people like the look of hatch's and your opinion will not change that, no matter how hard you try (jason.)
i'm tired of hearing all this bs just because i'm planning on getting a car that's going to be better for me in the long run. i'm sure wes is far beyond that and i'm sure would have snapped by now if he wasn't a mod.
the pulsar bashing ends here, alright? if you don't like it keep it to yourself

nice rant...i even felt sorry for a couple seconds. lighten up a little...you and wes. i just like to give you guys a hard time, posers!
i personally dont care what you do...sure its sad to see a nice 88 Z31 Turbo probably go to some 16 year old kid that just got his liscence and end up wrecking it. but as much as i seem like i care...i really dont. its your car, your life, as long as you dont touch my Z, i dont have a problem. i think there could be other options that would allow you to keep your Z... but hey, if thats not what you want, it better that you let the Z go to hopefully someone who will cherish it forever.
as for the pulsar...good luck with that but as i already explained in a non biased opinion. it isnt going to be a great car like you think it is. any 15 year old car is going to have probems and the SR20DET is known to not be the most solid motor built. it seems like because it is a pulsar and it has an SR20DET, means that when you modify a 15 year old car, things arent going to break. good luck! i hope it gets you trhough school and you get lucky and buy one that hasnt had the piss ran out of it.

delerious man, why don't you just buy a early model sentra se-r and turbo the engine... than you'll have yourself an sr20det w/o having to pay alot of money... I know it's FWD, but it's still better than RWD in the snow.... and it would still be a fun car

turboing motors that weren't ment to be is like sticking a grenade in your tailpipe and blowing hard... it's going to blow eventually...
yes, i could keep my car... yes, i could modify it... sure it would go fast, cost me lots of money and break sooner than it should. if it had less miles on it i would probably be keeping it... unfortunately the interior on the car is terrible and i'm sure the general fluid maintinence hasn't been done on it (tranny and diff fluid.) just today the clutch pedal started doing funky things when i had it in neutral... perhaps because i gave it a good and hard 0-70 run this morning... who knows... either way, if i were to start modifying it, i would have to replace prettymuch EVERYTHING on the car to get it up to my standards of a z that's worth my time and money. i just don't want to get halfway done the car and have something happen where i have to stop and keep the car in its half ass state and end up selling it for way less than it would be worth.
it seems that you think i won't get another z.. of course i will, when the situation permits (eg i have the time and money to do a massive vg33ett build on it) or, a z32tt... but at the moment... well.... the moment when next spring rolls around lol... i can't afford gas with paying over $350 per month on insurance (which i would no doubt be doing with my retarded insurance company) as well as paying rent and tuition... it just won't happen... see what i'm getting at?

im ignorant because my opinion is different than yours? like i said...buy a pulsar, more power to you.
ignorant as defined by webster:
"lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified"
i am not lacking knowledge...i know the Gti-R utilizes an AWD formatted SR20DET. i know that the motor is strong. i know the motor can be easily modified. i know that the SR20DET is now one of the most popular Japanese motors due to the whole 240sx drift fad. but i also know that i THINK the car is ugly and i THINK you should stick with the Z31 or sell the Z31 and buy a GTR because of reasons that i do not need to repeat. now, you dont have to listen to my opinion and your obviously not going to. no hard feelings...like i said before, i dont really care. i simply went too far and didnt realize i was pissing you off. i thought it was all in good humor...but whatever, i already apologized. unbunch the panties that are cramming up your ass. :)

I agree with you on that one. The PZC is just more fun and light hearted than the other forums. Oh and its more active too :p There was virtually no hating on here until the whole Zgringo thing blew up.. Ive sold my Z32 and i still think this is the greatest forum on the site. If this wasnt true, I wouldnt still post on here :icon16:
Cant wait to see what almost ended Wes :grinyes:

Well i guess we can agree to disagree. I personally dont partularly like the stock z32 front end (and i dont mean the 99 jdm version) but im pretty damm sure you'll disagree with me on that one too  Its good to see your so devoted to your car. More power to you!
Delerious: I understand fully your reasoning behind getting a GTi-R. Hell, I was even looking at getting one at one point, but i ended up with the GT4 instead  And i dont think K3 was intentionally trying to get you angry, having a bit of fun.
no hard feelings...like i said before, i dont really care. i simply went too far and didnt realize i was pissing you off. i thought it was all in good humor...
Like everyone does to Wes, except your car is still a Nissan  GTi-Rs are nice hard cars but the quad throttle bodies can screw with tuning somewhat. The hood looks mean and is purposeful, but the TMIC is mud so your gonna have to convert it to a FMIC somewhere along the line anyway LOL :banghead:
As said before, nice rant! I love it when ppl get all shitty and worked up. It makes for interesting reading. but you should still get the soarer...
Now that I think about it I have a question. Is it possible for you to import a Z32 using the 15 year rule? or would the fact that it was sold locally throw that out the window?
And you have mail!
sigh
I think that about sums it up!
God damm I love this place

I agree with you on that one. The PZC is just more fun and light hearted than the other forums. Oh and its more active too :p There was virtually no hating on here until the whole Zgringo thing blew up.. Ive sold my Z32 and i still think this is the greatest forum on the site. If this wasnt true, I wouldnt still post on here :icon16:
Cant wait to see what almost ended Wes :grinyes:
nothing about that car looks mean or agressive in any way. if anything the hood looks totally out of place.
God damm I love this place

turboing motors that weren't ment to be is like sticking a grenade in your tailpipe and blowing hard... it's going to blow eventually...
Not true. At all.
It's all in the tune. Hell, even on my stock little motor, I could run 8psi and not have to worry about problems ever. Where you start getting in trouble is when you start pushing 12psi+ on an engine that's not prepared for that type of forced induction.
My buddy Kevin who owns PROJEK Tuning has a 2000 Civic Si, that he build a NASTY Turbo system for. Had the A/F Ratio nailed, the car ran perfectly with 10psi for months on end, no loss of compression, no sign of structural integrity weakening. He bumped it up to 12psi, tuned everything out perfectly, and within a month he started losing compression... So he bumped it up to 15psi and blew it to high heaven
He now has a fully built engine, running 22psi on 110octane. He dyno'd out at over 400whp... Which is plenty for his daily driver :p
So as long as you don't dog it EVERYWHERE you drive, 8psi-10psi is fine on stock internals with a good tune. It's all in the tune, if it's done right, the car will run just as long, and just as well as a purpose built Turbocharged engine.

Here's how I almost died... And as most of you guessed, it had something to do with a Civic, haha. (http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=68DB7EF6-ED8E-4F1E-BF7F-F7AAF0CF87B1)
With his car, we got the Suspension done first, then took out the D16Y8 powertrain, and dropped in a GSR from IAS... The engine looked PERFECT, clean enough to eat off of... However, it was only running on two cylinders. We got the money back, and dropped in an H22. Got it running perfect, put on the Pro-Speed Header (Damn it feels good to spend $600+ on a Header), and let PROJEK Tuning do their thing... Car runs AMAZING now.
Now we've got to upgrade the brakes... As you can see in the video. Stock brakes, with 230+bhp engine, on a lightweight Civic EK chassis = :thumbsdow
Miles' H22 Powered 1999 Civic EX. Pro-Speed Header, Password:JDM Power Chamber. 230+bhp. We just now got done with it.

for some civic owners the bigger the better...hence muffler tips the size of my head on civics. not saying that this is the case in this particular scenario...
anyways those headers are very nice.
yaggus, the stock front end on a Z32 looks very attractive. :D but i wil agree with you that the 99 JDM fascia looks better, hence my reasoning for spending a big chunk of change on one. it looks best with no front fascia...*takes a look at sig pic*
wes: your video is still being optimized.

yag, got the mail, but you forgot to include the link in it... lol... yes i could import a z32tt, but it would cost just as much, if not more than getting one here, and the body would be in worse shape (regular japanese people can't drive worth SHIT it seems...) i haven't seen a single clean 5spd(oh yeah they're ALL auto except a few) come into the country, and when they do they're 13k+...
yeah the tmic on the gti-r is crap for low-mid speed driving, which is mostly what i do.. but even after converting to an fmic, the scoop still keeps the engine cooler than it would be with a solid hood...
wes, yeah i know about the tuning, but the thing is... the nearest HALF ASS tuner we have around here is a 3 hour drive away, or $*insert large number here* an hour to have come out and do on site tuning... so i would be running on a tune that i did myself, and needless to say, it wouldn't be that good...
yes, i must agree that that headder is fucking gorgeous.. so many fancy loopy bends and such... and all just to get it to equal length... but that intake just ruines the whole engine bay... stupid carbon fibre...
and llz, you've got first pick, as long as you fly your ass up here with all the cash i'm looking for :D

btw has anyone ever had a problem where when they turn on their a/c or heat it smells like garlic or somthing???? Also, the two middle vents don't even blow air, and the two furthest on the right barely even blow more than a fart... is that normal??? (I have an auto climate system)

Yeah, the Header is equal length... You can't get a better Header for the H22, it's made to run open, so if you wan't to run it on the roads, you have to get it flanged, and resized... It's really a Bitch, but you can't argue with 32whp added :evillol:
As for the Password:JDM PowerChamber... 9whp added with an intake is pretty good, no matter how ugly it is :p
And Damn that video is taking for Fucking ever to optimize.

well guys...i got totally horrible news.
found out today that after all the work and money done to this motor, the driver's side camshaft is seized/locked. went to turn the motor over and the crank was moving the timing belt but it was stripping the teeth off of the belt on the driver side camshaft gear. this motor has been beat to hell as the turbos were a good indicator but i had hope but i still wasnt too surprised when i found out. so...the place i ordered the motor from is getting a phone call tomorrow but they only have a 30 day start-up warantee. it been a few months since i got the motor. i dont think i can fight that one as it i a written agreement. but they will definitely be hearing me and they will be hearing what i have to say. it isnt all that bad except being out the money but the good part is...i have a good bottom end to build up while i can still drive my Z next summer or even a couple years to come. reguardless it will work out. i already have another motor lined up so we will see. i have quite a few phone calls to make tomorrow.
anyways, this mild TT/5-speed swap just turned into a highly modified Twin Turbo/5-speed project as i have whole other winter to save up more money and do more work.
my list includes:
new TT motor
stillen SMIC
615cc injectors
sport 500 turbos
ported exhaust manifolds
RPS flywheel
Street Clutch
brand new EFI wiring harness
Howe racing radiator
lower radiator hard pipe kit
custom electric fan set-up
top it all off with some custom sideskirts, eibach springs, big brake kit, carbing strut bars, and a few other accessorie items.
thats the list now...as most lists it will probably grow and then money will come into play and everything will not get bought. we will just have to see. :D
kind of a bitter/sweet. the best thing about this is that i now have an extra TT block to gradually build up. :evillol:

i have no idea what the costs are for importing... i just stick with the quotes that the company gives and go with that.. they're the cheapest i've seen in canada, so i'll stick with them for now... both of the owners are great guys too, so that always helps...
yeah, i see a LOT of z32's go thru here and there, but they're all either beaten to hell, have terrible paint damage, big dints/gashes, and i haven't seen a Single one without a beat up interior in some way (usually steering wheel/shift knob wear)
either way, importing a z32tt would be pretty cool, but if i'm taking all that time waiting for something, i might as well have something that nobody else around me does, aside from the steering wheel on the other side...
llz you can still send me the turbo timer, i won't object :D

I know. I've still seen some really jacked up steering wheels in Z31s...the one in this car is still pretty nice...that's all. The one in my turbo was annoying as hell cuz, everytime it rained or my hands were a little damp for whatever reason, it'd get this gummy, funky black shit all over the place. It's like it was some tacky shit to give you grip that was coming off when your hands were damp. That was irritating as hell cuz it wouldn't come off.
I wanna see pics of your car's interior, D...I had no idea it wasn't "up to par".

^ that makes alot of sense.... also are the shift knobs for the z32 leather? b/c my turbo's like plastic or somthing like that... yea I've got a few tiny leaks in my car too... one's right above the steering wheel from the windshield, so that everytime it rains hard, water starts dripping on my lap and it looks like I pissed my pants.
