Lightbulb cat nip

So I was reading about cat nip because I was interested in how it affected cats. How, as in.... HOW? So in my studies, I found this information:

"Humans

Herbalists have used catnip for many centuries as a treatment for colic, headache, fever, toothache, colds, and spasms. Catnip is an excellent sleep-inducing agent (as with valerian, in certain individuals it acts as a stimulant). Both people and cats find catnip to be emetic in large doses. It exhibits antibacterial properties and may be useful as an anti-atherosclerotic agent. It is used as an adjunct in treated dysmenorrhea and is given in tincture form to aid amenorrhea. 15th century English cooks would rub catnip leaves on meats before cooking and add it to mixed green salads. Before Chinese tea became widely available, catnip tea was very popular. "

So, I'm going to look up "adjunct" and "tincture" to see just how I can take catnip myself. Maybe I can roll a joint of it? We'll see. If my studies lead me to believe that smoking a catnip joint is not unhealthy, then I will do so, and post the results.

Re: cat nip

alright so I researched for 5 minutes...

tincture is an alcohol form of an herbal medicine... sick... You would put cat nip in a jar, put vinegar in the jar an inch higher than the nip, seal it and put it in a dark closet, shake it once a day at the same time for 2 weeks, strain it, and BAM... you have an alcoholic herbal tincture... crazy..

but that doesn't indicate anything about a cat nip joint.

adjunct led me nowhere. It didnt say anything about a cat nip joint either.

I'm just gonna do it.

Re: cat nip

Smoking mystery things! Yay for experiments!

Honestly, I have often pondered the very same thing. Would taking catnip get humans all wirey like it does cats? That would be a damn fun trip, to be able to spin around a pole so fast you actually climb it. Then stop, and fall on your ass. Then run around the room in a full sprint til your too tired to stand.

good luck curing your spasms.

why not go to the pharmacy and load up on DXM, then robowalk down to the hardware store and suck back some Nitrous... you'd be the coolest cat around.

if catnip was a good way to trip, everyone would know about it.

Re: cat nip

The chinese did it hundreds of years ago... those are the fuckers who were trippin on opium, so I figured cat nip must be some good shit too.

Well anyways, I rolled a joint and smoked it... It smoked perfectly btw... and I felt a bit light headed. The I recalled where it says it can be emetic in large doses, so I rolled another one and smoked it. My cat was str8 chillin w/ me. He runs from weed smoke but he was inhaling every little bit of cat nip smoke his lungs could handle.

Anyways, I felt a little bit dazed, but overall... pretty normal. I think I'll have to smoke a few blunts of it. I'll try that soon.

I don't think you're going to get much more than a very mild relaxed feeling

Re: cat nip

i found an article on catnip from Purdue Universities web page on horticulture. it was ultimately long and boring, but i did find this and thought it was interesting:
"Smoking catnip can produce a euphoria and visual hallucinations thought to be caused by the nepetalactone content "(http://www.hort.purdue.edu/hort/)

smoke a nice fat blunt and see how you feel.

Re: cat nip

I got the stuff growing all over my yard. It spreads like a weed. I bring some in the house for our indoor cats to enjoy. It's funny to watch them act after ingesting it. One cat grows another set of balls and starts to initiate a fight with our dog. Some cats seem to be more "violent" while some others seem to mellow out. Kind of like people whn they get drunk...
