i bought my car almost a year ago so that includes $2k downpayment, monthly car payments of $200, insurance payments, gas, and everything else spend on my car. i have only actually spent about $1500-$2000 on repairs/upgrades.

sounds cool, but i dunno how stable it would be... probably couldn't rev as high unless you built everything just right for it... i've heard stroker kits can be bad for boosting, but that might have been from the honda section, so don't quote me on it lol

anyways, i have a problem i wasnt exactly planning on. ok...i am trying to swap my automatic for a manual transmission. so i ordered everything i need including the manual harness. today i finally took a closer look at the harness...i was under the impression that it was more a of a plug'n'play type thing. the manual harness matches up on the end where the transmission is for the most part but where it plugs in on top of the passenger wheel well, it is way off. none of them match up to where my n/a unplugged. so...i was wandering if someone could first take a picture of their passenger side wheel well inside the engine bay so i can see exactly how i may need to do this. and also has anyone ran across a online tutorial for swapping in a manual trans on a Z32...thanks guys.

freak...if you see this, you would be the best bet for a picture because you have a manual N/A...broke probably has the hicas pump in the way from seeing anything. thanks in advance freak!!!

a coupple people have asked me to post pictures every so often of the motor pull...well here is a couple pictures right before the engine is read to come out. the only thing i have left is to finish removing the wiring harness but its all disconnected. then just unbolt the motor from the mounts. if anyone wants a specific picture of something ill be more than happy too. here ya go...

k3, u now i have a manual N/A and i would take a picture for ya but right now my engine bay is completely messed up with harnesses layin everywhere and alotta things missing to so i dont think it would help you at all. sorry

and on another note your upper plenum looks black on that first pic, is it black or just really dusty ?

dude...my whole engine bay has been painted for a while...upper plenum is in black. intake piping, air balance tube and a whole bunch of other stuff is painted silver...brackets and others. i redid alot of wires and hoses in stainless steel. it looked nice before i ripped it apart but it will look even better when the TT comes in. :naughty:

im trying to get this engine out so i can catch my buddy before he goes on vacation to repaint my engine bay. :D

anyways, probe...take a picture for me when you get that engine bay cleaned up. not really in a rush but i need to start making a plan so i know if i need to splice the harnesses together or something else.

i should be ordering the TT motor, ECU, and intercooler piping in the next couple weeks. so i will keep everyone updated....

quick question guys...should i get my upper plenum honed and powder coated or buy a honed and chromed one from Z1??? i knida liked the black or maybe a dark silver just because it is different but the chrome is really really shiny!!! :lol:

don't you think making your own intercooler piping would be cheaper? just a thought... and for the intake plenum, you could always get it honed, then chrome plated... no idea how much the plating costs, but it might be less than buying one from those guys.... $700 is a lot to pay for a hunk o shiny metal:p

i dont think ts that easy to just make your own intercooler piping for the Z32...i have 2 choices, border racing makes a near complete mandrel bent kit or get the stock intercooler piping...the border racing set costs about $800 and then i just found a guy that i am buying off of is giving it to me for $200.

the problem with having anyone chrome plating the upper plenum is that it wont stay. Z1 has spent along time finding someone to do a good job on the Z32 upper plenum so they finally have...i dont know. i will probably just get it powder coated a gun metal color and then highlight it with some red, black, and platinum silver. we will see...

i'd say go with the powder coating man, a personally designed paint scheme is usually better than what everyone else is doing... just don't make it look like e-honda's engine:D

anyways, yeah it will probably be very similar to what i had done before except replace alot of that silver with chrome hardpipes and what not. and i want to work in a little red because red, gray, and black always blend so well together.

i just spent a little time sifting through the classifieds at TT.net and there is a couple companies that are chroming different pieces, like the throttle body assemblies, power steering reservoir, and fuel lines. thinking about getting a S.S. upper bolt kit, power steering reservoir, and the fuel lines eventually. that should go along with the IC hard pipes and polished koyo radiator brackets.

it will look nice when it gets done. just a matter of getting it done. probably get the engine in and running before i start spending money on that fun stuff. it will coem along...im looking forward to the big brake kit!!! :naughty:

:lol: no, i dont think its gonna be that much chrome. but i like the specialty Z koyo radiator brackets and i want the IC hard pipes. so im gonna have to bring the chome out a little more in other places. it will be more black and silver than anything. i love black!!! :D

my plan if nothing comes up is to have it done between the middle of may and the middle of june. depending on financial siutuation for the most part...hopefully i will have my new wheels, big brake kit, and my eibach springs by late june - early july. :cool:

oh one moooooooore thing... anyone know the offset for the z31's? i went into kal tire today and they said it was like +30 or something and it was really hard to find rims with that sort of offset... is this true? maybe i'll just get some r32 rims like euroZ.... i'm still waiting for pics of that to see how it looks!!
