I knew that was going to be the one you were eye-ballin. Been eye balling it for quite a while, myself. I called JWT about it a while back to find out more info about it. There's, according to them, quite a bit of fabrication work involved with that specific turbo...

well as long as it sits in about the stock location, and i don't have to change anything other than the exhaust manifolds, it shouldn't be too bad... running the oil/coolant lines shouldn't be too hard... but depending if it uses an internal or external wastegate is the question.. aaand it needs an external wastegate... that's fantastic... well i spose it's time to hit the drawing board for making some manifolds that allow for an external wastegate... woohoo :banghead:

oh wow, i just got back from my first night of soccer practice, and all we did was run. we ran 2 miles, then a 400m, then a 200m, then a 100m. with about 2-4 minutes of break between each. that was the closest i have ever been to throwing up from running, but i was very impressed with my times, i got 13:16 in the 2 mile, best time for me. im goin to bed now, so tired.

reminds me of High School Baseball. foul line to foul line...full sprint, against the fence, on a 360ft to left and right fence. 8 times for a warm-up...

i wont even get into once practice started. :D

Multiply that by about... 10 or so. And that's what we did for Football EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE SUMMER :(

Throwing up every morning, hoping to pass out so that you could sit out for at least a few minutes... It was awful, I'm so glad that I'm graduated, and done with High School. No more football

i am glad im out of high school so i do not have to deal with all of the kiddy bullsh*t. i hated my high school with a passion. that probably explains why i skipped 125days out of a 185 day school year. me and my buddy skipped about 3-4 days a week. just showed up on test days and passed with flying colors. :D

so i was browsing cardomain for some images and this is what i came up with... this first one is a little outlandish, but it would work with a bit of fabrication...
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/9180/crazyvg4bb.jpg (http://imageshack.us)http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5739/crazyvg26pw.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

this is the one i had seen before which gave me the idea for the external wastegate, and this is the more feesable approach to things...
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/7465/extwgz312jh.jpg (http://imageshack.us)http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/2985/extwgz3123bx.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/8797/extwgz3134vt.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

altho, that first one would be pretty damn cool, it would require a hell of a lot of fabrication, especially the intake manifold, which i should replace anyway... at least the upper plenum seeing as it's so freaking restrictive... i think i remember seeing some guy that made them out of sheet metal or something...

wtf... That is really shit. This may sound like a REALLY stupid question, but couldn't you just not have played football? Maybe your highschool works differently to ours over here. I didn't play any sport for school when i was in year 11 and 12. Were you forced to play football or something?

you could have just quit...

You could skip that much school???? Man if we didn't turn up to school or were even more than 20 minutes late to school they would ring up our house to find out where i was. We would get our asses handed to us if we skipped that much school. I fucking LOVED highschool in year 11-12. I had the BEST TIME there :iceslolan I realised early on in the peice that A) I was smarter than most of the other people in my school and B) the score i needed to get into the course i wanted to at university wasnt very high. So i just concentrated on enjoying my highschool days. When else for the rest of your life do you get to hang around with your friends and just chat and muck around for 8 hours a day 5 days a week. I gave my teachers the shits because I hardly ever did any work in class and i was still normally in the top bracket  Man, I wish I could go back to school.... so many good memories... :smokin:

i agree with wes, do the first one delerious, that would be kick ass. last night after we ran all that, the coach said that is probably one of the easiest running nights we are going to have, but hey, its soccer, in an average high school soccer game, a player runs 6 miles.

its not exactly they let us...i dont know, it was kind of a wierd situation. i had a really cool assistant principal, to say the least. so he would call home the first like 20 days but my mom didnt care much as long as I continued to get good grades, which i did. Yeah, here at our school, they really don't care whether you come to school or not just as long as you pay your lunch on-time daily, fees. If you decide not to do any work or show up they present alternative options that seem like a good idea and you know anything and your not graduating or gaining a GED until your like 21.

Don't get it twisted though, just like any other school, they want you to think that your seriously going to be F****D if you don't show up but the real thing is that you are just going to have to do your work and whatnot later that week.

thats definitley a very good buy, but why would someone sell it? I know that I wouldn't go for that cheap but it is autotrader. Everything is cheaper there, but the only problem that I have with them is when the car is sold people on there don't always update the file immediatley. DUDE...THAT FIRST TURBO PIC KICKS ALL KINDS OF NUT SACK, D! I've NEVER seen anything like that done on a Z31 before. I'm gunna find that dude's page and see if I can get some more info outta him. I actually have had pics of that other Z you posted pics of as part of my wallpaper changer prog for a looooooong time. LOVE that car. Ever since I took my engine apart, the list of shit I wanted to replace got much larger...and the intake plenum was one of them. It's shaped all weird to keep certain cylinders from leaning out...doesn't seem very good for flow...kinda like the exhaust manifold. I wanna do something like that.

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/618783/3

^ I like the intercooler and the way it was integrated with the bumper on that. Looks odd, but it works. Alright, D...whose cardomain page was that one big turbo on?...don't feel like looking through all 500-something pages...

wes, if you don't buy that car without a good reason, i'm coming down there and kicking you in the teeth... granted i can catch you off guard and can kick that high...

anyway.. llz, as for that intercooler.. it looks like someone straight up kicked the car right in the face with a steel toed boot or something... and as for thieving the intercooler, you don't give it away much easier than that... might as well have a sign on it saying "steal me." yeah, that first one is pretty cool, but the more i look at it, the more and more i think it's an older z.. maybe a 280zx or something? i don't know, it just doesn't seem like a z31 to me for some reason... better get broke in here, he seems to be the master of defining cars by their firewall and windshield wipers:D. here's the site i got it off of, but it wasn't the dude's engine, just one that he had a picture of... has a few pics of a TT vg30e on there as well.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/554997/5

i'm probably going to jack the side of the car up today... gotta check out a squeak comin from the left front brake and i think i'll check the turbo for any shaft play... i'm sure there will be some... how much, i'm not too sure... there has to be on a turbo that's been beaten on and has 145k miles on it...

freakonaleash1187

I was kind of the same. I got along with all teachers but if something didnt interest me i had a real hard time keeping my mind on topic. The 2 teachers that kept me the most interested i ended up with 87% and 93% for. The others were around mid 50s. Again this will probably sound like a stupid question but what the hell is a gpa??? What is 2.3 in relation to everyone else?? I have to admit i have no idea about the American education system.

GPA=Grade Point Average

the best GPA you can have is a 4.0 but some school like my school, you can take honors or Advanced Placement classes which are actually worth a 4.5 or 5.0 on the grade scale, respectively.

so according to my area a 2.3 GPA would not be a very good GPA but there are reasons why people get these GPA's and its not because they are stupid. here i feel high school is a joke and i think kids should skip from Junior High straight to College. this is why, i myself, skipped over and over...it was boring. i was relearning everything and i felt that i could teach it to myself better than the teachers they provided me with. so i didnt go to school and i didnt do my homework but i still Aced all of my tests. this kept my grades at B's and C's. Though i didnt get the best grades i still ended up with a 3.8 GPA and ended up 13th in my class, which is near perfect, but this was only because i was getting good grades in my AP (Advanced Placement) classes which would boost my other lower grades that i was getting in my classes that i couldnt take AP or Honors credited classes.

i used myself as an example because i cannot speak for everyone else and i dont even know if everyone else has the Honor and AP system at their school. Great system...i loved it and it helped me out a ton with my GPA. I actually learned something in those classes unlike some of my others.

do you guys have ACT's in Austrailia??? we have ACT's here but i think some people across the country have ACC's or something like that.

Yo D...(you realize that I'm calling you that from now on, right...lol)...I quickly realized after looking at the CAR instead of just STARING at that WICKED ASS intake plenum like I did last night that the first pic is an older Z. You can see the hood latch by the firewall...older Zs have the reverse hoods. BUT...it IS a VG. I know the look of that engine AAAAAAAAAAAALL too well...so...what he did is possible to do to my VG, too. Got some good ideas from that pic. Only thing...(according to his page...) he's only running 13.01 with all that...that's kinda lame for all the work he has done. I'd like to at LEAST get to the 11s...

well i had a very productive last 24 hours except for the 8 hours i slept.

anyways, i am down to only a few time consuming things left on the Z32 and a lot of little things that need to be done. so i expect to have her running by the weekend, maybe tonight seeing as how well last night went. i won't go into details but yeah...

my GTP received its first loss to date. :(

Award...2001 Ford Mustang GT with a straight through true dual exhaust. Obnoxiously Loud!!!

anyways, it was actually a much better race than i thought. 1st gear i spun the first 30ft and then finally i grabbed and was dead even and then he hit second i slowly start to gain on him quick as my first gear takes me to 55mph...i hit second he pulls away about 3-4 car lengths by the time we hit 100mph.

so bottom line...the GTP's 1st gear is absolutely smashing...2nd gear is absolutely horrid though. ehh...you get what you pay for. either way i was very impressed with my car and the fact that it was a little hot today and my heat guage was a little higher than normal operating temp. we will do it again on a cooler night and see if i can keep pace a little better.

for whatever reason he wants no part of my Z32 and i havent even told him anything about it. he said it looks fast...i told him "ehh...its nothing special, it may be able to keep up with your GT "

the engine in that pic is making way, way more than what he's got on the site, as that's not even for that engine.. those are just random pics on there of what he liked... he's running the 13 on engine management kit, intercooler, z32 fuel pump, 550cc injectors, tial 35mm wastegate, 3" exhaust, and to4e turbo... mind you he's got some massive 19's on there...making 335 hp and 482 ft lbs... that should warrant more than 13's... but maybe the guy just sucks at driving... running 17 psi on stock bottom end and heads from what i can see.... pretty impressive.

If all things go according to plan, my posting will be even more sparse then of late. If some plans come through then I may never return but that's a different story.

As for the Z: Heads, lower intake plenum and a few other things are all back together. Waiting on a few little details to get the long block totally back together (O-ring for the oil filter mount, new idler pulleys, oil/coolant lines, few other things). Manifolds, downpipes and turbos are finally going to be ordered. After that it should just be putting the upper intake plenum on and everything that comes with.

As anyone building a car it took a long time to finally decide on a turbo set. I getting a pair of GT28Rs which means a bit of grinding and fab work to fit them but at ~$1350 and offering pretty much the same performance as the ~$2900 530BBs I was going to buy...it's worth it.

Having a new found wealth of time to work on the Z I want to finish this before October, though scheduling has never been a strong suit of this project.

GPA=Grade Point Average

the best GPA you can have is a 4.0 but some school like my school, you can take honors or Advanced Placement classes which are actually worth a 4.5 or 5.0 on the grade scale, respectively.

so according to my area a 2.3 GPA would not be a very good GPA but there are reasons why people get these GPA's and its not because they are stupid. here i feel high school is a joke and i think kids should skip from Junior High straight to College. this is why, i myself, skipped over and over...it was boring. i was relearning everything and i felt that i could teach it to myself better than the teachers they provided me with. so i didnt go to school and i didnt do my homework but i still Aced all of my tests. this kept my grades at B's and C's.

I actually learned something in those classes unlike some of my others.

do you guys have ACT's in Austrailia??? we have ACT's here but i think some people across the country have ACC's or something like that.

for shits and grins what did you guys get on your ACT's, ACC's, or other college preperation test?

Oh ok. I understand that. I have absolutley no idea what an ACT or ACC's are. They might be similar to what we have over here.

There are 2 different systems in Australia. One for the east coast and one for the westcoast. The TEE (Tertiary Entrance Exam) is the west coast and the HSC (High School Certificate) is on the east coast. Different names, identical function and form. Ill give you a basic run down of how it works.

You have your normal school marks and end exams and stuff as per usual. The exams are written by your teacher. The end result is your final school mark. On top of your school exam your have to sit a TEE exam which is basically just another exam for the subject but EVERYONE in the state sits EXACTLY the same exam at EXACTLY the same time but at different venues. This exam is written collectively by a group of teachers from different schools. The TEE exam is worth 50% of your TEE mark with the other 50% being comprised of your school mark. The mark you get from this is called the raw TEE mark. This mark is then moderated and scaled.

Scaling is to do with how hard the subject is. Subjects like Physics, Calculus, Accounting, any foreign language, Chemistry, English Literature, Drama studies, History are scaled up because they are harder. Physics is considered the hardest so it is scaled the highest. This can add up to 11% to your final mark. Subjects like Geography, Human biology, English, Discrete Maths are scaled down because they are considered easier subjects. This can drop up to 11% from your final mark. Scaling shouldnt play that bigger role in the final outcome.

Moderating, however, can REALLY fuck you up. :banghead: This is basically to check if your teacher has been marking you too easy/too hard and to compensate for that fact. If your teacher has been marking you really easy all year you would end up with a good final school mark. But if you do really badly in the final TEE exam it will look pretty suspicious if you only get 35% when your school mark is 85%. Nearly all of the time you will be moderated down to some degree. on average about 3-8%ish. It is not uncommon unfortunately to lose A LOT of marks from this. One of my friends who went to a different school to me lost 21% from her geography mark!!!

The net result from this is your final TEE mark. Your top 4 or 5 subjects are then chosen and an average is worked out from them. This average is then compared to everyone elses average and your rank is then determined from this, your TER(Tertiary Entrance Rank). A score of say 75 would mean you beat 75% of the population. To get into Law or medicine in Western Australia you need a score of 99 to get in :cwm27:

And that is how to get into a university to learn a profession. To go to TAFE and learn a trade it is a whole different scheme...

My TER mark was 77 and thats only because i dicked around all through year 12. If I had cared, I probably would have gotten high 80's. But i didnt :smokin: I love coming from an intelligent family

I still have 4 gaping holes in my mouth from when i got my 4 wisdoms taken out 2 weeks ago...

Ive heard that that is how some types of general anesthetic work. They dont knock you out completely, they just stop you from remembering anything. So you might be lucid while your getting your teeth dug out and be in incredible amounts of pain, but when you wake up, you wont remember any of it.

wow yaggus, that sounds pretty in depth...

our ACT's SAT's or whatever else do not effect your High School Grade at all. It is just basically a guide for a College to tell how much you already know and how much you actually paid attention in school. I would say it is a test to see how smart you are but most of us know that at some point we slack and our mind slips away from school causing us not to learn eveyrthing we need to know. Plus there are alot of other variables like bad teaching, illness, etc. So it basically is a test to let College's know how nmuch you already know and what you are able to start at or be able to comprehend in College.

In my area we have ACT's with is on a grade scale from 1-36...36 being absolutely perfect. I dicked around my Junior and Senior year and only half leanred everything so when it came time to the test i vaguely remembered how to do some of things but not where i could get the answer right. Reguardless, I ended up with a 28 which only a handful of people did better than me in a Graduating Class of 450 or so. I love coming from a intelligent family also. :D But i need to take it again once I have myself back in school and on the learning track again because i need to beat my mother's score of 33. Damn english...I hate to read stuff they make you read therefore i skim over it and get done with it way ahead of time and I usually get most of the answers wrong.

i am tired of medical students...everywhere i turn i see people in scrubs or if i'm on the bus heading home i see people reading medical manuals...i guess partly b/c i'm like 1/4 mile from UNC-CH
