Hahahaha well I hope you get this one! It does look pretty nice and would look even better once you get all the afore mentioned stuff done to it. Are you going to do any of that stuff yourself? By then time you get around to doing it my boss should be back from Italy and I could probably get you a write up of how to redo the interior yourself. But yeah it would be great to see you own a Z again :p But the only downside to you getting a Z would be.... We would have to find someone else to make fun of....

And I'm definately NOT doing that interior. There's a shop in town called "Upholstery#1"... Sounds like a corny name, but my God they do some phenominal work. One of my buddies got them to do his Supra in black and red leather, and the bill came out well over $1,500. So this project will be moving very slowly over the next year or so.

We'll see... I'm heading up to look at the car tonight hopefully.

as for that Z31 with chromies...i can't really tell if its completely slammed or not but if it wasnt for the wheels it would be one clean Z31. and yes, Z's should not be slammed...lowered is ok, slammed = no. light trucks are made for slamming, not cars that actually perform.

Well didn't get a chance to go look at it today, hopefully sometime this week. And another Zed just popped up in town for sale, and it turns out, I know this guy.

I'll post some pictures of it... FULLY built VG32DE, dyno'd out at 221whp! Which is outstanding for a Naturally Aspirated Zed, in case you don't know. But his asking price for a '93 is a bit jacked up. I don't think he'll move much from $8,500, seeming as he has $14,500 in the ENGINE ALONE! He has all receipts, and pictures documenting each phase of the build. The car is insanely fast for a Non-Turbo.

But we'll see, I've never had so many valid options with Zeds, they're typically pretty scarce around here for some reason.

that is a very good whp number for a N/A Z32 without nitrous. that is almost what Twin Turbos dyno stock. not bad at all...worth the money, probably not but it is nice to see something different. most people go for the whole bang for the buck but i always appreciate seeing a well modified N/A. just imagine nitrous on top of that 230whp :evillol:

$8500 isnt bad at all for what he has in to it. i personally would go with the slicktop and eventually do a TT conversion.

Long time no see. i got my donor L28 all torn down. funny story, that. The guy I got it from said that it wouldn't start because the rings were shot. well, not only are the rings definitely NOT shot, but there was no appreciable wear in the cylinders; you can still see the cross hatching from the last rebuild. I think the real reason it wouldn't start was the fuel pump: the cheap aftermarket pump he put in stil had the wires exposed, twisted together and not even so much as taped. So, I got a perfectly good engine, 5-speed trans, brake parts, and 3.90 ring and pinion for $100 :iceslolan now I just need to save about $3k for the mechanical bits to but together my bored, stroked, cammed, ballanced, blueprinted, ported, and polished beast of a motor, and hope it doesn't blow up when I'm finished :uhoh: God! I miss my Z!!

BTW, how many people in here actually have a Z that runs right now? Mine TECHNICALLY runs, but without a good trans, it just sits there and sound cool. I think I'm just gonna throw the 5-spd in the car and drive it some more until the motor takes a crap, THEN go nuts with the rebuild and resto. Like I said, I MISS MY Z!!! :mad:

how many people actually tear down a JDM motor to bare bones before they put it in their car. if i was picking up the motor from Jow Schmo i probably would have taken the extra time and made sure everything was Kosher but beings i bought it from a reputable JDM dealer with a warantee i figured everything would be kosher. ehh...whatever. just gives me more time to build it up.

as for people with running Z's: probe doesnt count, last time i heard he wasnt able to drive his Z. then you have Hodo. rocker, and LLZ.

but the plan is custom made sport 600BB...seen it done, trying to find someone to repeat it for me. fully built engine, stillen intercoolers, 740cc injectors, and some other junk but thats all that matters.

10's isnt hard to acheive with a Twin Turbo wessy poo. N/A gears, upgraded turbos, upgraded intercoolers, upgraded fuel injectors, and your ready to rock and roll with the proper tuning. there is a guy custom tuning Z32's and he got his stock internalled Twin Turbo to hit a 10.6 with custom turbos and tubular manifolds.

i think all this civic and lazer ownership has brainwashed you to think that the VG isnt a potent motor or something. :nono:

VG30's are good motors, especially in DETT trim, and 10 second z32's are easily attainable...so long as you don't mind running race gas only, and waiting for around 4500 rpm for the turbos to spool up :evillol:

uhh...no. but ok, if i remember correctly wes is running race gas and only getting 11 second passes. stock motors cannot arent invincible therefore precautions need to be taken.

there are guys running 10's all day on pump gas with Z32's, they just have to do motor work or have a exceptionally good tune.

Wes is running 11's on stock internals, stock exhaust manifold, stock intake manifold, and simple bolt-ons. Now if I decide to take it up a notch, get a 60-1 or a GT35R, Magnus Intake Manifold, and a small shot of Nitrous... I can be running 40+psi on stock internals, and running deep into 10 second passes.

Jason, I'm not under estimating the VG at all... I'm just saying I think you're shooting a bit low. Prove me wrong though, I'd love to see it happen. :)

even with the BB600s and injectors and all the engine mods that need to be done to sustain 10 sec. runs, theres still alot of work to get a car o hook up. i know theres the 10.6 example, but youll need some suspension and subframe moding and some sticky wheels to get that mother to hook up, but then again im thinking running 10.6 often or better than 10.6. And then you cant forget about the stopping after a 120 MPH pass. its not too hard for Z32 brakes to withstand much worse, but you want to be sure.
And you def. want a good ECU. If I were running deep into the 10s i would def. get a custom tune. And by none other than arguably by one of the best turbo tunners in the country - Lee Howey. thats who ill go to in the next few years.

People say there are turkey out here but I haven't seen shit! I used to hunt alot before '99 but I stopped after that... Haven't really done anything with the Z since I've been so caught up with hunting. All my extra money has been going to gear, expenses, what not... still haven't even got tire for the ADVAN's nor have I installed the SPARCO... I'm so lame. Haven't even been driving her that lately either. Last time I drove her was about a week and a half ago and I thought to myself I really needed to clean the inside! DUSTY!

im not shooting at all...i am going by what other people run. when im DONE, my engine will be capable of 700rwhp and 8000rpm redline. it will be my turbos that will limit my power production. if that kind of HP doesnt get me into the 10's i will pack it alll up and buy a lazer. :screwy:

um...probe: you dont have to tell me what needs done. its not just 1 example, there are alot of people running 10's in their Z32 with rather basic modifications. there is only 2 people that i have heard of running 10 seconds on stock motor. there are gobs of owners running 10's. most have about 450+rwhp, slicks and subframe bushings, thats pretty basic. you guys act like i am trying to fulfill the unheard of. give me a break fellas...

as for custom tune: yes that would be obvious, S-AFCII and Ash (talked to him personally the other day, very nice guy) should do the trick.
tires: nothing some slicks cant handle on stock wheels.
brakes: my big brake kit is almost complete. just need to order my 12.5" rotors after it is running.
as for suspension: i think Powertrix coilovers, Stillen sway bars, carbing strut bars, and SPL subframe spacers and rear traction rods should do the trick.

i know what needs to be done. yes, it may take a Z32 a little more work and effort to get it to run 10's but im willing to make that effort and spend the money. some of these mods will take longer to complete as this will be an obvious ongoing project. it is not impossible and getting it in the 10's isnt even my goal, its just one thing that will be acheived in building my car. if yoiu want a lazer, i dotn have anything against. if you want anything, i dont care. but dont try to conclude that the Z32 is inferior. people want different things...do what you want and need to do.

anyways, this all needs to be dropped. i have a Z32 that doesnt run right now and i plan to sink lots of money and time into it and just maybe it may inhale a breath of air once again. you have a lazer and a civic with hopes of buying a Z32 in the future. to each his own...i have not once doubted your lazer and it is a respectable car. doesnt mean im going to bow down and trade in my Z32 because it is harder to make run 10s, though you make it seem as if i cant get a Z32TT to run 10's. :rolleyes:

Dammit, Freak...MY CAR'S IN ONE PIECE, TOO!!! I even have my spare tire, t-top shades, tools in the rear, all that shit...even have the original owner's manual (with key code and EVERYTHING on it! That came in handy...)! All the body panels are there and straight and there's no visible rust except 2 spots right in the middle of the driver's door (how weird?) that are no bigger than a quarter. Only thing my car is lacking is a nice paint job, really.

To make my car 110%:

Paint (I'm thinking black or stock silver)

Lower it and do suspention work (poly bushings, stiffer shocks and springs, MSA sway bars and camber correction plates)

Get new fog lights and make the high beams, left front turn signal (bulb works, just won't flash...I hate electric work...I won't touch it) and reverse lights work again

Tint the windows

That's 105%...

Maybe a nice set of rims for the final cosmetic touch and maybe an intake, 2.5" exhaust and ECU...just for the improved gas mileage...yea...that's it...lol

So I took the Z out today.... looks like I lost a little air in the rear passenger side. Hope I dont have a nail in there. So I stop at this gas station 'cus I'm low in gas plus I could use some air in my tire. As I pull up some guy is just leaving from the air pump. I park my Z at the gas pump and walk inside. I ask the old bastard across the counter if the air-pump is working. He says no. So I say: "WELL LOOKS LIKE I'M NOT BUYING FUCKING GAS HERE THEN, HUH?" So I left....... I knew perfectly well the pump was working. I knew that if I asked the guy across the counter for free air before I asked for $20 of gas he'd probably tell me NO or that it was for paying customers only.... so why didn't I pay for the gas first then ask to use the air?

Three weeks ago I shot a white-tail deer on openning day. Must have been spooked because it came in running and scared the shit outta me. It was about 10 feet away. Never had a deer come in running that close directly towards me. The wind was in my favor and I was hunkered down so that may be why he didn't see me until the last minute. As soon as he saw me he tried to double back from where he came from. Lokked he was using an old deer trail and I happend to be lying right on it. He gives me a broadside shot as he readies himself to leap at the hill he just came from. Time slows down in the forest. The 8mm bullet blast through the Mauser's barrel and rips down the forest air, miraculosly missing all branches in front of the 2x2 buck. The bullet creates an 8mm hole in his shoulder instantly incapcitating him. The bullet doubles in size as it mushrooms and blows a hole out from his left side of his rib-cage the size of half of my fist. He's down. No suffering it seems. No quartering today. I unload the two bullets I have left in the old Mauser. Sling it. Bring out the parachute cord. Tie a nice knot on his antlers. Start the hard work. Hey. I'm only about three miles in. In the toughest terrain in California. Nice steep mountain just to get to the Durango too. Just CRAZY huge. 50 caliber...over 1100 bucks. Damned anti-tank rifle. I'd LOVE this thing. Each round costs...like...7 bucks or something like that. Anyway...I asked dude at the shop "what the hell would someone use that for...not like they can hunt with it" (I NOW know, after a bit of research, that they're far more accurate and can shoot much further than anything else out there...there's a bunch of people that target practice with this because of those reasons). Dude was like "sure you can...guy I sold one to took it hunting once. Said he shot a huge buck with it, hit it in the neck and it spun completely around...it actually seems really humane". I was like..."what the HELL"!? ONE ROUND spun a FULL GROWN DEER COMPLETELY AROUND...full grown deer weight...what?...I dunno...few hundred pounds...at least? That's a BIG ASS GUN. In fact, the round it uses is even called .50BMG...I think it should be .50BigFuckingGun. Maybe the BMG is for BigMotherfuckingGun...that would work, too. lol

im speechless...700rwhp wont haul a 3300lb car to 10 seconds? dude...there are guys doing it with only 475rwhp w/ full interior and hardly no weight reduction and still with the TT 3.6 final drive gearing. you guys arent including in your analysis the instantaneous power that the VG puts out and the enormous amount of torque that makes it worth haveing HP. i most 500rwhp+ VG's have almost 100 more ft lbs of torque.

12's wes, i mean..i may not be no schumacher but im not a 12 year old either. people on AVERAGE run high 12's with a Stage III Twin Turbo. i am well past stage III and well on my way for even more.

but yeah, even if all i hit was 12's i would be happy. that just means i cant launch a car worth shit but the car itself is brutally fast. like i said, my goal is not to hit 10's...it is just a stepping stone that should and will be conquered in teh future. how soon, depends on money...as long as they keep making gasoline i will probably own my Z32 so one of these days it would eventually have to hit a 10.

Ever hear of a .505 Gibbs? Bigger than a .50 cal. "Elephant Gun". $20 or more a round and they usually sell in packs of ten. Some of these .505's go for $24K to $80K for the rifle. They are very nice rifles though with very intricate engravings and such. For the rich man. You can find some for way less... but why drive a VW Bug when you can own a Lambo. I long to hunt in Africa. Someday. But nothing 50 cal and above in California is allowed anymore. Fucking Democrats.

I used to own many a rifle. Winchester model 70 .270, Remington model 700 308, Remington Model 700 300 Win.Mag with Match Barrel, Free-Floated/Fiberglass stock and mounted with a Leupold Tactical scope, Russian SKS, Russian Mosin Nagant 91/30 PU Sniper Rifle from WWII, and a German Mauser 98K from WWII. I've hunted with every single one. But then a big fire in my house destroyed all of them. After that I started to get into Japanese swords because I didn't want to re-start my whole collection again. I was pretty pissed.

Now I just started again with a Lefever side-by-side shot-gun in 20 GA and a Turkish Mauser 8mm. I've really taken to Mauser's and I am going to buy a custom Hi-Grade Mauser in 30-06 for next deer season. I also want to get into Cowboy Action Shooting and buy a couple of Single Action Colt-Type Six-Guns.
