argh i'm getting antsy.... almost considering putting a deposit down for a shiny new 200zr... but i'm afraid i won't be able to sell the car by the time the new one gets to vancouver...

now i was thinking... even though it is turbocharged, wouldn't the 200zr get better gas mileage than my 300 as long as i stay off it (LOL yeah right)
it is a 2 litre... so in theory it should get almost as good as your average 4 banger as long as that boost needle doesn't move too much..... right?

sounds about right to me D.

on another note, sat. was what we call Holt Day at national trails raceway dragstrip. its once a year when my boss actually rents the whole place out just for the cars weve built, it was awesome./
we had about 30 cars there that we built. ill post some cool pics of some of em if u guys want. we had evrywhere from a superstreet 5.0 stang that stood straight up and scraped the back bumper runnin sub 9.s all the way to a neon runnin a 7.2 it was cool. we even braught out the IHRA world champion car we built. It was an awesome day at the track.

Any day at the strip is fun, even a tune day.

Last week some kiddies were telling me about a new sport thats going around the world called, "Drifting". I never laughted so hard. I told them drifting has been around longer than me, and the ultamute drifting is done on a motorcycle. Try drifting at over 90MPH on a bike without any brakes on a 1/4 mile short track, then tell me about drifting. If that don't trip your trigger, try doing it at 150+MPH at Sacramento or Springfield on the mile track. I learned to drive on a frozen lake. Now that my friends is drifting. Fun and when you've mastered it, drifting nothing more than another part of driving as is shifting or drafting.

i wanna see some pictures...

and delerious...thats probably right. stay off it and you will get better gas mileage, plus you will probably be getting a lot lower mile engine than you got now which would make the gas mileage closer to what nissan said it was when they released it. anyways, sell your car and get it done...

Thanks K3, Drifting is a art as much as any other sport. My next gripe is the all so knowing saying that drag racing isn't anything to brag about. Well try and handle a 2,500lb 1,000HP bomb that run the 1/4 in 6 seconds at over 200MPH. Better yet tell a AA/F driver in a 2,000lb car with 8,000+HP turning the 1/4 in 4 seconds at 320MPH that ain't shit, and you might end up pickin your butt up off the ground. No other racing puts more stress or strain on the car or driver than drag racing.
Unless you've ever done it you'll never know. The launch in a 6 second car is so violent, if you turned your head it could possibably break your neck. And when you hang out the laundry, the braking is so strong it can and has ripped the eyes right out of the drivers head.
You stage, launch, shift 5 times, shut down, shut off the fuel, hang out the laundry and try to keep it between the lines at 200+ and pray to God nothing happens or you get cooked in hot oil, in 6 seconds or less.
Drifting takes pratice, and to do it right and become fine tuned you need to learn to control what ever your drifting with the power and steering, but mostly power. Best way to learn is to go to a big parking lot covered with snow and learn to power slide without spinning out. When you've mastered that go to a big field and try it there. When you've mastered the dirt then go to the pavement and learn to do it there.

Buy some wrenches, a factory manual and begin the learning.

Spark plug replacement, oil change, and wiper fluid top off: You should be good to go.

Cam fabrication, engine rebuild and carbon fiber panel molding: Might want to wait a while.

If you can do all that then you are good to go on just about anything short of a transmission rebuild and cylinder boring. If you somehow REALLY fuck up a sensor or valve bad...then...just replace it.

Broke, how's project money pit going?

You have no fucking idea how correct that is.

It hasn't progressed too much since the last update. Waiting on the last few parts to come in for the engine before it is returned to my garage to commence reassembly (crank gear and lash adjusters...taking their SWEET ASS ****ING time getting here). The laptop I just bought set me back some as far money for the turbo/downpipe/exhaust manifold order that will be coming up but another paycheck will even it back up. Also since I'll be in Germany for three weeks in May it's not like it would do any damn good to have not bought the laptop (especially since I got a sweet deal) and rushed to get my car driving again just in time to leave. This way I can play with my laptop (4 hour flight Seattle-Chicago and then 9 hour flight Chicago to Frankfurt, DOH!) the whole time and come back to a bank account just getting full enough to cover the parts then take my time putting it all back together.

BTW: how does it work??? do you get to see pictures of the car you are getting before it gets here or you give them money and they ship it here and thats the first time you see it. then you hand them the rest of the money???
i dont know if i would like the whole, ordering a car without seeing it and driving it but i guess you have to make sacrifices when it comes to getting a rare Japanese car. :D

as quoted from www.importconcern.com (http://www.importconcern.com/)
"To purchase an auction vehicle, you must first make a minimal deposit to cover the initial expenses of buying an auction vehicle with Import Concern. For more details about deposits for auction bidding, please see our article Bidding at Japanese Auction (http://www.importconcern.ca/articles/bidding.htm). When payment is received for a bid, we will bid on auction vehicles according to your instructions and conditions. After a successful bid, we will draft a full importation quote according to the winning bid and request the difference of the initial payment and the full importation quote."

basically, i put a deposit down to the company that covers the expenses of buying the car from the auction (not usually much more than $1000) and then when the car i'm looking for comes up, i let IC know, and they put down up to a maximum bid on the car, but what comes with the auction is an auction sheet, which lists all the things needed to know about the car... if there's any body damage, any engine problems, the mileage of the car, what modifications[if any] have been done to the car... that sort of thing.

once the transaction is complete, they arrange for the car to be shipped out to canada, and when it arrives in vancouver, either the buyer picks it up there, or makes arrangements to ship it further into the country. at this time, the rest of the balance owed is paid out.

hey some of that stuff is actually real. companies do actually give you a car tod rive for so long because it is advertisement. its almost liek sponsorships, they give you so much stuff for your car but you ahve to put a sticker on your car that represents their product/name. i have a buddy with a 96 eagle talin AWD turbo thast really built, has a wide body kit, lambo doors, blah blah. he has a bunch of sponsorhips like that. the best one was from rotora and toyo. rotora gave him an all around big brake kit if he attended 5 car shows a year which he already does and puts there sticker on his car. and then toyo supplies him with new tires every 6 months if he competes in atleast one racing event and goes to 3 car shows a year which he already does. so it worked out good for him.

i need a tire sponsorship...that would be nice. :D

DeleriousZ
04-18-2005, 01:36 AM
yes indeed it would.. the worst part is going to be right when i pick it up... because it's going to be right on the wrong side of vancouver (huge city... one of the largest in canada) and i'm going to have to drive it through it to get it home... the first few minutes in it should be an adventure... i'll probably take a few laps around the parking lot to get used to the shifting and all that...

it'll be pretty funny tho, guaranteed the first few times i go to signal, i'll hit the windshield wipers... they're on the left side of the steering wheel rather than on the right lol.. like i said.. it will be an adventure.

i do, however, think that right hand drive is superior to left hand drive... i would much rather have my stronger arm controlling the steering wheel rather than the gear shifter.. i guess we'll see how it goes when it gets here tho!

maybe i should actually put a deposit on it before i start talking like i own it already eh? :p

Worried, you bet. The last time I was down your way I was afraid to cross the street. I'd walk up to the curb, look left, step off, and one of you blokes would try and run over me.
I don't know where you guys learned to drive. We pass on the left, not drive on it. Damn Lyme's must have taught you how to drive.
