that's one mighty fine lookin oil cooler.. should work well!
thanks DZ...hows the 200ZR search coming??? any bits on the wheels or Z31 for a sale???
im having the same problem...if i could sell some of this stuff in my garage or my Z31, i could buy my new wheels and a bunch of other fun stuff. well, i have a few people coming to look at my car next weekend but im still looking to get rid of these parts from my Z32. keep getting bits but im not reeling anyone in on the big stuff. i sold a few minor things like my trans cooler kit but i need to get rid of this transmission and motor to make room for the new.

any idea what i could do to stop my hood from sort of bouncing around.... it's always done it i've just never really thought anything of it.... got something to do with the release mechanism i think, other than that i dunno what causes it to bounce around...
i dont have a z31 so i dont know what the latch looks like but ive fitted th doors on a few of our racecars so id think that u could take off either the latch or the hoop and shimm it with either a thin plate or some washers. see if thatll work
havent been on for about a week-------racing season bitches
all yesterday i was out at the track with one of the cars we built.
its runnin in the outlaw street class and we won with a run of 7.60 @ 181 and thats with the second stage of nitrous not running right so that was really cool to win that race

not good man, i don't think i'll be able to sell the z for a long time.. if ever... haven't seen any 200zr's for over a week, but it should pick back up again on monday, altho, i would like to sell the wheels before i put my deposit down to the import company so if they do find one fast, i'll have the funds to buy it once it gets to this side of the ocean. however, i've also been thinking of just saying screw it and buy a z31t... there's a beauty of an 87 z31 turbo for sale out on the coast for 3400 bucks... i think if they still have it this weekend i'm going to take a trip down there and check it out... same body style as the 200zr's, just missing the scoop. also saves me the trouble of all the waiting and importation bullshit.. i'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see what's up. (boost.. here i come :evillol:)

i dont know...i would still want the RB. but the VG has the displacement advantage....but the RB is an RB.
i would probably buy a 200zr just to be different...its up to you though.
one of these days i am actually gonna ave a Z32TT...its just taken a long time it seems like because i got such a late start.
but i will be placing a very special order with Z1 tuesday after work...that should take care of almost everything else i need to be where i want to be...:naughty:

i would definitely like a 200zr, but i think it's be best to get a car that i can look at and test drive at the moment, who knows, maybe i can use my current car as a project car.. tear it apart, rebuild it to 200zr spec or something, maybe do a vh swap on it or something... use it as a drag car or something... that's if the frame doesn't rust and snap :p
i'd still very much like to import a 200zr, or perhaps i'll wait a few years for when the '92 rx-7's are legal for import (FD twin turbo :smokin:)

thats not a bad idea...buy yourself a cheap relaible car (integra) and turn yours into a 200ZR, then take it to a body shop and have them fix everything and install that popular bodykit for the 200ZR and do the 87-89 taillight conversion.
but then again, why wait a few more years...why dont you just import a Z32TT???
well, speaking of it...why are you importing a 200ZR when you could be importing a Z32TT???

it's damn near impossible to find a 5 spd, and even harder to find one for cheaper than i could get it here... it seems that almost all of the ones coming from japan have body damage, are beat to shit, or are ridiculously expensive.
the reason i don't want to turn my current car into a project car is mainly because of the rust.. if i were to get it up to the shape i'm looking for, it would take replacing about everything except for the gas cap... it's just too old, and has too many miles on it for it to be a worthwile project for me. also, it'd be cheaper for me to get a z31t than to get an integra... it seems even for the early 90's integra's around here, you're hard pressed to find one in decent condition for under 5 grand... those cars hold their value sickly well for some reason... as for gas, it can't be that much worse than what i'm getting now... most likely be better if i can train myself to stay off of it... besides, i really like the 87+ body style compared to the -86... the changes may be subtle, but they're enough to really change the look of the car in my eyes... and that body kit that everyone's always talking about, looks to me just to be a front lip and some side skirts.. it's rare to find one with a rear valence on it... which seems odd to me, i think it looks kinda funny without one to complete the flow of the car.

yeah but most of the rear valances for the Z cars looks ugly anyways...i have seen a couple on the Z31 and they dont look good and the i havent seen one that like yet for the Z32. the only one i halfway like is the one that looks almost exactly like stock except it doesnt have the bubbly surface and it has 2 little fins on the sides of it. so basically i am stocking with the stock. and i seen a carbon fiber lip for the Z31 that i was going to get when i painted it on ebay. it was like $250 and made it look alot better and it was from a company in Japan and ever sicne then i ahve seen it on alot of 200ZR pictures.
as for the 87+ design...yeah i like it too...but the only exterior mods i can see is the taillights. the rest looks the same to me. but i knwo they changed the headlights to bulbs instead of those box things. and a few other miscallaneous things like that to update it. if you just wanted a clean body...my 86 is in perfect conidition. i have found a spot of rust on it...even underneath it. thats why i want to keep it and make ti a project car but i dont have the space for another car.
anyways, how expensive are you talking on the Z32TT's??? you could pick one up that has body damage and then a couple months down the road either take it to a paint shop and ahve them fix it and lay some new paint or you could tell your insurance company that i came out of wal-mart and my car was all F***ed up...and have the insurance company for the damages. thats what i would probably do if i was in your situation...

the cheapest one i've seen that doesn't have huge paint issues, body cracks, or mechanical damage is 10k+. i'm not covered for that sort of damage anyway, i can't afford stuff like that on insurance, i don't have collision right now even, would have cost me another $900 for the year if i had put it on there, and i'm not ready to pay $250 a month for a car that would get me 1500 bucks from the insurance company.
that's the one good thing about importing cars that weren't made in north america, the insurance company is forced to use the manufacturer's baseline insurance rate for the car, which is usually dirt cheap, which is what i need for the next however many years until my premiums start going down. (insurance would have jumped from 1700 a year to 2600 if i had kept collision)
as for the differences, subtle as they may be, it makes a huge difference for me.... just the slight rounding of the front end and the change of the taillights makes a huuuuge difference for me...

i don't know why it is, but i've come to really dislike that little lip on the bottom... also, no sideskirts... also adds to the look of the car... in my eyes at least

what two different cars are those???
2 seater and 2+2 is the second one...i hate the look of the 2+2 Z31. it looks so funny in the back to me.
i like the 2 seater with that aftermarket front lip that they sell...it comes out on the bottom so the front end doesnt look so pointy.

yeah, i'm not a big fan of the 2+2's in the z31 either... even the z32, i'd rather have the 2 seater... but the window of the 2+2 z31 looks just weird with that extra edge in there.. the first one's an 86 n/a and the second ones the 88 2+2.. if you're telling me you can't see a difference, i'm going to have to choke a bitch

that's prettymuch all the differences... that and one headlight is a bit bigger on the 87+, and the hood has a more rounded shape and the cowel is a bit more defined on it.. come to think of it... i wonder if you can put the 86- sideskirts on the 87+ without making it look funny at the rear joint...

I dont know what the exchange rate is like but i paid ~$13,500 AUS to get my car, imported, complied, and licenced and the brakes redone.
the cars itself only cost me 300,000 yen.... the rest of it is shipping and crap....

yes those are the goods lol... apparently it has one very small spot of rust on it, on one of the rear wheel wells, but that doesn't concern me... it's a silver car so it's way easier to get the colour right if i do decide to patch it up... and yes it's a TURBO!!!! my first turbocharged car!! first upgrade will definitely be a turbo timer...

so it all comes down to it tomorrow, i can't make it out to vancouver because i'm working, but my dad said he might drive down and pick it up for me.... the bastards at the place selling it say that even tho i have a deposit down on it, i have 24 hours to get out there and pick it up or they'll sell it to someone else. the only reason i've got first dibs on it is because i was first to call in and put a deposit down on it.... apparently there's like 5 other people looking to get it... guess that just goes to show how popular z's are!

what the hell are you doing right now??? go pick that Z up...dealerships dont close till 9PM. and if your pacific time zonw that gives you 3 hours from right now...
on another note: you will never believe how much the dealership wants for a TT AC condensor...the radiator type thing. $290 plus tax...i almost laughed in that guys face when he told me that!!! so teh search is on for me to find a good conidition TT AC condensor. i think i have one bought but im waiting for an email with pictures of the condition. this and the radiator should be some of the last pieces to the puzzle except for minor doo-dads that i will need to pick up at some local parts and hardware stores. wish me luck!!! my motor is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, im anxious to see what kind of condition its in.

as long as i get it here, i don't really care anymore... now the guys at the dealership are being cocksuckers and saying i can't wait till the weekend to pick it up, even if i put down a non refundable deposit on it... i don't know what they're thinking. also, now they're trying to charge me 3795 for it where the add said 3400.
the brutal thing is, i don't have any power over them like i'd have with a private seller. because if i don't pick it up then they sell it for 4500 because apparently they priced it too low, which is bullshit. the only reason they're bumping the price is because there's such a demand for it. either way, i'll get the car, even if i have to pay the 3795 for it...

dont let them do it to you...go there and be really forceful with them, and tell them what you think they are trying to do and tell them that they can see right through them. that they didnt realize how much the car was worth and that now they are gonna try and raise the price. tell them...i made a deposit on the car for you to hold at $3400 for me. BOTTOM LINE...teh car is mine for $3400, if i backed out of it then you can do whatever you want but you made a verbal contract with me...
sorry, thats what i would do...im tired of people trying to screw people over. what happened to the days where you could trust someones word...
anyways good luck delerious...dont let them jack around with you. your still in control because you have the money and they want the money. they priced it to make a good profit now they are just trying to rip someone off.

yeah, i've been fuming about it all night... i just wish it was closer so i could actually go down there and yell at them in person i would own the car already, but it's a massive long trip to get down there on a weekday, so i'd only like to do it once, maybe nonce if possible.
however, a nonrefundable deposit states that the dealership will hold the car for an amount of time until the buyer is able to fully purchase the car. now usually that time is negotiable, but less than a week should be no problem at all. they're worrying about 4 days which really seems kind of shady to me, but as long as the car is fine, i can get this behind me and never deal with these dickwads again.

speaking of which, i was at a local Goodyear a few months back because my grandma got a flat tire. well, i needed to get a new tire mounted and balanced.
anyways, there was this 35year old lady in there. i must say she was a very good looking 35 year old lady, A MILF to say the least. :naughty:
anyways, the Goodyear guy comes back and says im sorry to inform you of this but we need to replace all the brake pads and rotors immediately. he want on to tell her that they had to do soemthing special to the rear on this particular vehicle to chaneg the brakes...anyways, i took a look at the car (95ish nissan maxima) and whispered in her ear "they are trying rip you off, there is no such thing as this". then she whispered back in my ear, "what should i say"...i told the guy working behidn the register that "this very kind lady has just informed me that she thinks you are full of s*** and that she just wants her oil changed and she will get a second opinion on the brakes at a friend of mine's shop".
the mechanic must have given me the most evil look i have ever seen in my life and finished the oil change. the lady gave me a hug and said "thank you very much". we ended up talking for a while outside and she was married and had 2 kids (damn...so much for that). well she was very nice and i gave her my phone number and told her if she ever has a problem with her car to call me and/or take it to my buddies shop and mention my name.
next day she took it to my buddies shop and my buddy told her that she has about 75% brake pad left on her pads and that everything else looks like it is very good conition. she called to tell me this and thanked me again.
well there is my story...never trust mechanics and tell them they can go find a cool place to f*** themselves.

what the fuck man... honestly... you wonder why people run their cars into the ground rather than taking them into the mechanics shops, or when they do, end up paying 3 times as much as they should. i'd say at least 80% of the generic mechanics out there are sneaky lying bastards, which is really sad...
maybe hodo has a different take on it considering he IS a mechanic.
way to go k3, nothing like trying to pick up the MILF's..... that reminds me of something that happened to me a while ago... sort of.

yeah, you could have had your reared done at my shop, i can honestly say we do one of the best jobs with the suspention setup, preload and gear changing you can find. Its kinda our specialty. Lots of our customers swear by us, infact we've never had a gear break on us or act up once except once when the same rearend had 5 years on it, wayyyyy too many runs on that one.
But its all good and good luck with your racing and record chasing. What car are u making a record pass with and what record ?

All 3 well be with the VH45DE engines. The engines are ready to go and the car is being prept right now.
I (we) had a friend set a new world record last year that well be attempting to go over 250 this year. Care to read about it go here.
What were trying for is 250+, 270+ and over 300 MPH. Noone has ever gone over 297MPH in a stock production body car.
