the reason i ask is because i have an '89 323 fwd with th older 1.6. it's completely stripped down and weighs about 1700 lbs dry. mines got no muffler, so it makes about 90hp. soon i plan to start building a cage in it, then install racing seats to compete in group 5 clubrally. eventually, i want to piece together a complete gtx awd drivetrain with vj10/14 hybrid turbo, anti-lag, and launch control to run group N, but for now, it's just an invicible beater that gets 30mpg in the city,corners at .86g, and has almost as much ground clearance as a stock toyota pickup sr5. :tongue:

It's only the FWD BG version but my buddy has a GTX that is fully Rally Spec. I want a GTX pretty bad though. You have a BF, right? With my BG there is the possibilty of actually turbo'ing it but I'm not sure that I will. Basically the car is my DD in the winter plus my Rally-X weekend car. I am just planning on having fun in the 2WD street mod class with drop in filter, some suspension mods, and SNOW Tires which work great on gravel.

my buddy's cousin had a older police intercepter crown vic with 500k miles. still ran...last i heard it was still running after trying to put it out of its misery but cruel punishment.

Decided to get out of it while I still can... I would rather start with a stock car a little later down the line.

So we parted it out... And so far, ol' Wessy-Poo has made well over $2,000, and I've still got another $1,000 or so worth of parts to sell.

So I'm coming out of it pretty good... What sucks now, is I'm back to square one. Back to my mind changing mode, and back to never being able to figure out what I want to do... Oh well, guess it's better to have money, than to not. :rolleyes:

On another note I almost bought a 92 Mitsubishi TT GTO(3000gt vr4 to you Americans) on tuesday. It was going at the auctions so I decided to go down and have a bid on it. To my excitement.. I won... AT $16000! Thats where the good news ends though. The bid was reffered to the seller because it was so cheap and didnt meet his original reserve price and unsurprisingly, he decided not to sell it at that price. His reserve was $20,500. To give you some sort of indication how cheap that is, the cheapest TT GTO for sale in Australia is on sale for $24,500... But the same one is going up again next tuesday so im going to bid again :smokin: Here is a link to the car:

And I also had a fun night on Wednesday too. You might recall me waxing lyrical about my mate that is the MR2 specialist for Australia. Well, he had just finished retuning his MR2 at and wanted to see what it could do. At 1 bar of boost he managed 450rwhp... then he turned it up to 2 bar... :grinyes: Im not entirely sure what his 2nd round of dyno figures were but I know he was expecting over 600rwhp :evillol: His fastest run for the night was only an 11.3 though. On this run his enine mount broke loose fried part of his ignition leads and his twin plate clutch was slipping bad... oh and he fucked up his launch too. You can tell his car wasn't running perfectly down the strip. On his 2nd run he only managed 12.73 but thats cuz he fried the rest of his ignition leads and his car was spluttering and backfiring on the way down.

He is pretty sure that he can manage at least a 10.9 with his current setup, provided he fixes the current problems.

i almost drove to kentucky to get my Z32. it was a 2 seater silver 5-speed with 140k miles but the motor had been rebuilt at 120k. but i found this one that was only 50 miles from me and i basically screwed myself over. :D

what the hell is the point if pulling a perfectly good running motor? its not like blown gaskets are a popular problem with the 300zx. and what are your plans for those 370cc injectors?

after i am happy with the performance aspect of my car im going to be working on getting the 99' J-spec HID headlights but i will probably just do a HIS conversion before then. im trying to locate some JDM headlight glass covering though.

Jason, I just want to... So I KNOW it's in perfect condition, and I'll take much better car of something that rebuild, port, and spend hours upon hours on. So I'll get the heads milled down a tad, get everything hot tanked. And I'll do a bit of fine porting on the plenums and intake and exhaust ports.

Get a Hayden Oil Filter Relocation kit with Oil Cooler, get two Moroso Oil Catch Cans (Don't want oil in my plenum!) and keep the thing maintain meticulously.

And Jason... Do you have anything about the 5-Speed Conversion?

yeah i understand...me next motor is getting torn down, inspecting, new gaskets, hoses, everything...thats of course if i dont rebuild it anyways.

as for the 5-speed conversion...what do you want to know? i did complete teh conversion on my car. everything is pretty bolt right in type of deal except for the wiring.

parts:
-5-speed tranny
-metal plate between trans and engine
-5-speed pilot bushing
-N/A clutch pedal
-Braided Stainless Steel clutch line (no point of messing with the stock crap that weaves everywhere in the engine bay)
-flywheel
-clutch and pressure plate
-clutch pullout bushing/fork/wire clips/etc
-slave cylinder and master cylinder
-customized driveshaft
-shifter/bracket/etc

most of these parts you should be able to find in a group from some guy parting out his car.

the swap is pretty much straight forward...when you get to the wiring part i have a few tricks that meticulous studying of wiring diagrams got me.

i bought everything i needed from a 1993 Twin Turbo that was being parted out. came with a brand new 500 mile 6-puck cluth disk and new pressure plate.

you ahev any specifics fire away...the 5-speed conversion was pretty easy. it was the TT that was more meticulous and not so straight forwars.

Well this car will be staying Non-Turbo for a LONG time. I just want to make the car more fun. And you have to buy a CUSTOM Drive Shaft? Why won't the stock unit work?

a stock one will work from a 2+2 N/A 5-speed. or you could just buy the half shaft from a 2+2 N/A 5-speed.

the shaft that goes in the spline of the transmissions are different between automatic and 5-speed. most people just buy the 1-piece and call it a day but if you find a 5-speed 2+2 grab the driveshaft.

this is just fucking great. i ordered tension rods back in april which cost $170, well, it turned out that SPL forgot to charge me and i didnt keep track of my account back then so i had no idea they didnt charge me. so a few days ago they looked through all their records and found out that they didnt charge me, so they finally decided to charge me $170 now, and thats $170 i planned on having. and then my bank charged me $26 because that $170 made me have an overdraft. so that is freaking $196 that i am out of that i didnt plan to be out of. and i have my $200 car payment due in a couple days. and i only got a $305 paycheck, so some how i have to pull $396 out of a $305 paycheck. fucking great. so my dad gave me $100 and now i have $50 to last me 2 weeks. on gas alone i spend $80 in 2 weeks. there is just no fucking way i will be able to make it money-wise until my next paycheck. AHHHHHHHH

Spewing to hear about the whole bank screwing you thing Freak. Have you thought about complaining to your bank about it? Because technically they shouldnt have withdrawn more funds from your account than you actually have. That happened to me once when my mothly gym membership reduced me to -$10. They hit me up with a $35 fine. I got pretty pissed off and asked the bank why the hell I was in the red. When they told me why, I simple told them that I hadnt authorised them to take out more money than was in there and they shouldnt have let the transaction proceed. After getting mightily shitty with the person on the phone they put me through to a manager who finally agreed to remove the penalty but with a caustion that if it happened again they wouldnt be withdrawn. So take it up with your bank and cut sick at them, thretening to close down your account is always a good one too.
