California is the most overrated dump in the entire country, save maybe New York. The roads suck, the weather is hot, air is "chunky", the entire place is falling apart or in process of and the entire place has a smell to it that I can't really identify but is most certainly foul.

Fair enough, I haven't been there. And Redding is alright.
Whats this now? Progress? What? Huh?

Still some bits and pieces that need to come in, heater hoses, injector isolators, new flywheel bolts...but progress is being made and it's just about there.
She also saw the light of day for the first time in two years. Yes, it has been that long now shut the **** up.

Given that my income driving trucks is sporatic at best and non-existent at worst, I've come to the conclusion that I can either get it together now without the GT28Rs and manifolds or I can wait and save all summer then get them. Given that it's been two years and its summer and I'm ****ing tired of staring at it, it will be put together with a pair of stock turbos and manifolds for now. Then if I feel like dumping another $2500 into it this winter I can upgrade.

 its coming along and looking good broke. i think thats the first time i have seen pics of your Z out of the garage besides the one in your sig.
is that the Koyo OEM replacement radiator? does it have plastic end tanks? i bought that radiator in hopes of better quality, but it now sits in the back of the garage in favor of my Howe that should be coming a few days. i didn't like the whole plastic cheapy feel of it eventhough many people have ran it with no problems.
GT2560R's look very good on dyno charts and it seems they have more peak capability, in comparison to the 530BB's. i also may have an extra pair of HKS actuators for you, when you get your GT2560R's, but i am not sure yet.
BTW: there was a thread on TT.net the other day talking about the 530BB and JWT admitting it was a standard Garrett stocked turbo with minor modification to fit the Z32. i dont remember the name given to the turbo but i remember looking up the price and they were only about $700 a turbo. which makes me wonder about JWT justification of charging an extra $2k to basically re-clock the turbo. :dunno:
are you going with 740cc's or 555cc's? you and your luck with having the 95 heads. fuel injectors are going to cost me an extra $500 just to get them to go in that car, damn pre-95 heads and shitty 90-94 injectors.
oh yeah...fight club rules and so does jack daniels. :D

Atp has them listed at $775 a piece (http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-002&Category_Code=GRT) but a few guys on TT.net have gotten them from Tialsport.com for around $1300 for the pair. Given that the 530s retail for $2900 that is a premium to reclock the turbo, modify the compressor housing, modify the oil return flange, mount acuators/brackets, and a few other details. It's a bit more than reclocking but it sure as hell ain't $1400-$1600 more.

The number one exhaust valves on my 95 heads were bent, I don't know if there was any damage to the valve seat. Remember? (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=316251) Anyway, rather than **** with it I just had the JDM heads rebuilt. The thing that made it easy for me is that I could use my 95 lower intake. Using that and the 95 gasket I cut up the intake ports on the 90-94 heads to match the later style. Short memory? yes, it makes me question JWT objective, but i guess if they were the only one to offer turbo options for the Z32 for so many years, i guess they could do whatever they wanted. Mitch at AMZ is supposed to be coming out with a very nice competition turbo for the GT28RS's so we will see. this coming winter i think i will be going back under construction for some MS cast manifolds and bigger turbos but right now i am settling for some basic Stage 2 turbos capable of 450rwhp on pump. should make a fun street car...

very true...i never really thought of that. wonder what will happen with all of these new turbos hitting the market selling for much less. they probably won't do much beings the 300zx is just a small piece of what JWT caters too but you would still think they would make an attempt to get back in the game.

I don't think "all these new turbos hitting the market" is really that accurate. Try looking at it like this. How do you know about things like GT28Rs and AMZ Stage 2s? TT.net right? You average owner is probably only looking at major suppliers like Jim Wolf, HKS, Greddy and so on. They might do a web search and find ConceptZ or Z1 but even then both of those places mostly list main stream turbos as well. Getting a turbo set like the GT28Rs is like buying factory direct. For those in the know and willing to do some fab work, its cheaper. Everyone else goes to Walmart.

i suppose...i guess i just assume that all people who modify Z's are part of forums and know the top Z specialty shops in the nation. mostly because those are the people i communicate with i suppose.
i find it fascinating all of the new products hitting the market for the Z32 some 10 years after production ended. and im sure there will be more and more to come as long as people can still get replacement OEM parts and there is gasoline.

My z got broken into last night.... the bitchtits took my dual gauge pod, and my boost gauge :( (the other pod was awaiting an A/F ratio gauge, which I was trying to save up for) but now I just ordered the single POD from JWT and I'm either gonna' get the cyberdyne digital boost gauge, or the PhantomII from autometer...

So after basically ignoring my Z for long periods of time and making little to no progress towards getting it back on the road, in the last few weeks I've made huge progress.
So much in fact that I'm out of stuff to do until the last shipment of parts arrives.
Some time next week.
fux0rz.
But, the good thing is that after all the parts I've bought that aren't going to do anything for performance I have two items in the next shipment that are decidedly performance upgrades.

i said the same thing when i first got home from the hospital. i want to see some amsterdamian whores. :D
anywho...thought i would post an update on my build. almost all parts have came in except for the major ones...turbos, intercoolers, and injectors. turbos and injectors will be ordered by the end of the week. i am axctually trying to mash out a deal on some PE1420's and for those who are clueless, these turbos put down 500rwhp+ on 18-19psi and can take the VG around 650rwhp on race fuel. its a turbo that is between the GT28RS's and the GT28R's but it seems that the spool up seems to be on the GT28R side and the peak power seems to be closer to the GT28RS side. i guess perfect for what i want... intercoolers will be ordered once the motor is broken in to my satisfaction and i will be getting my front bumper repainted at the same time, the art of killing 2 birds with 1 stone. :D
anyways, the motor is at the machine shop getting JE pistons installed and everything else that goes with the build.
things that werent ordered but will come on a rainy day once my bank account gets back above sea level will be JWT 500 series cams, RPS Carbon-Carbon clutch, MS Cast Manifolds, water injection, and 2.5" piping. everything else has pretty much been covered.
but before the above parts i ahve miscallaneous interior and body work that needs performed, including a roll bar, harnesses, racing seats, JDM tails, and side skirts.
needless to say even once the Z is running there will be alot more to come as with any Z owner.
wish me luck with the 1420's and if i do get these turbos wish me luck with not wrapping the whole car around a pull getting sqirrly on the highway. :)

Pbt, you boys are going to wrong way to get power.
If you want power, you need carbs! two of them!! ... SU carbs 4 evar...:worshippy
Ok not really, Carbs suck... especially when they're out of sink and the timing is off causing massive detonation. But, I refuse to touch it, I'm going to drive it till it stops running. El Serious power! Only costs me roughly $30 a week in fuel. bitchin.

wtf? are you kidding me?
the 954RR happens to have power like a liter bike and good midrange unlike Gixxers but happens to have the feel and handle like a 600.
perfect bike for me but not a good starter bike but i will make do.
plus i looked into insurance, beings the 954RR is not a liter bike insurance will be significantly cheaper but i still havent decided whether i will insure it or not.

In a short course race, sure that's fine and dandy, but on something a bit more techinical and with high speeds like say the Nurburgring. Doubtful.
And it was a joke guys, shit.
