well, i contacted the nissan dealership today for a clutch alignment tool. they cant get one for me so they gave me the number of their tool carrier...i called the carrier. the guy tells me on the telephone $65.43...yeah, this must be some kind of joke. pshh...$65 for a plastic tool??? yeah right.
so i do some searching...i find out i can guy a generic tool from a local parts store. go to Auto-Zone and ask for the part...guy behind the counter says whats a pilot bushing and whats a clutch do. FRIGGIN GREAT, i get the only idiot in the store that doesnt know anything about cars. so i turn his little computer towards me, and i say go find me this part number!!! 10 minutes later...he comes back, "wow, dude this car must be like ancient or rare or something, this thing is all dusty and stuff".
i just snatch the box away from him and think to myself "just give me the box you friggin trash ball".
anyways, the tool was supposed to be $20 but i paid $2.50 because the manager loves the Z32's and has seen mine around town several times. he offers to come over and lend a hand with the project, but i turn him down, replying "if you are anywhere near as dumb as your employees the only thing you would be helpful with is holding my beer".
long story short: everyone loves Z's!!! and always take discounts when they are offered. :D

K3, you gotta remember most of these employes are minium wage HS dropouts, and the ones who can sign there name with something other than a "X" are made managers. I have about 15 CD's of parts catalogs from different companys and I look up the part so not to have any mistakes.
I can't quit laughing at your story.:lol::lol2::rofl::bigthumb::jump3:

and yeah Al, most people at the local parts store are too lazy to find a real job in a factory or something and too dumb to go back to school. so they end up doing what they do best, being dumbasses!!! :D
anyways, more parts arrived today. i am putting the finishing touches on my massively long list of parts for my TT/5-speed conversion. still need to order my radiator to finish the conversion but a few more things to be where i want to be, motor wise. "BOV's, hardpipe kit, hoses, lower radiator hard pipe kit, etc.)
this should tranfer the power pretty good, and the best thing about it is that it feels about 10bs lighter than my stock one.

yeah i thought about that too...i have never done a clutch install so i didnt know if the gears on the tool actually did anything useful. i was pretty sure that the tool just holds the clutch disk in place until you stab the transmission but i wasnt positive. it all worked out, i paid $2.50.

so i went down to pick up the car today.. a good quick 3 hour drive down there, compared to what i thought it would be. pull into the lot and see it sitting there. get out to take a look at it, and instantly see that there's Way more rust than originally said. start the car up... starts fine, starts missing and stumbling hard, goes away after a bit of time running, but it was blowing a bit of white smoke (probably from sitting for a while) which also went away after it started to warm up. the part that really got me wondering was when i took it for the test drive. took it easy out of the lot and down the road a bit.. stopped at a light, took a right turn and got on it. shifted at approx 3k into second, same for into 3rd... now here's where the problems started... engine started to shake and stumble violently until i backed off of it... tried again and it did the same thing... at this point i was thinking the clutch was slipping, becasue the pedal felt like i was pushing into a sponge, but now i'm thinking it was just getting worn out and the car had more problems then was letting on.
had a good strong clunk from the rear end every once in a while and the bottom of the diff was covered in some sort of fluid. and i could see it burning oil in the high rpm's. digidash was having some issues with the speedo.. just a whole list of problems
long story short i got 200 of the 500 'non-refundable' deposit back and drove home rejected and disappointed. just wasn't my day

i guess we'll have to see... after all these experiences without seeing the car or test driving it before putting some money down on it that have gone sour, it's going to be tough to convince myself to drop the cash again. maybe i'll just say screw it all, take out a loan and get a z32...

well it's not like i don't want a z32.. i'd love to have one. whether i can afford one or not is a completely different question. if things keep going the way they are right now i could probably take out a loan and insure it without much problem, but depending on what goes down when summer rolls around, i might not be in such a good position. i just don't want to do something now that will screw me a few months down the road.

right, i understand...i was just basically telling you to buy a TT manual if thats what you want or else you will be forced to make it one later. if i would have bought a TT manual from the beginning i would have been a lot happier of a person now. but then again, i could NOT afford a TT then but i did make the mistake of buying an automatic.

well i just got done fabbing up some oil cooler brackets for my car...they should work great and look good too. :D i will get some pictures together when i put the finishing touches and bolt it on to see how its going to work.
i also saw a way to make some MEAN intercooler ducts and maybe even vent some air to the front brakes...ill keep you guys posted on how that goes. i need to borrow a my friends shop if i go through with it.
quick question for somebody...
the wider the piping you use the more pressure you loose correct???
so my oil cooler has some huge 5/8" ports on it but i think the ports coming off the motor are only 1/4"...
so should i try to run 1/4" hosing all the way to the oil cooler and branch it off about a foot before i get to the cooler and widen it to the 5/8" hose??? or will i be fine to run more 5/8" hose than 1/4" hose??? i dont really know how powerful the oil pump is to pump that oil all the way up to the cooler and then back to the oil pan...i dont want to really screw up my oil circulation system, that wouldnt be good.
i was going to order new oil feed tubes and all the other plumbing for the turbos but if you guys havent heard...supposedly Z1 got a really screwed up batch of oil feed lines that are leaking so they are warning everyong not to buy oil feed tubes until they can be sure that nissan fixed their problem. JUST A WARNING!!!

yeah, i really doubt i could afford a tt right now... not only the actual car, but the insurance and gas put together as well... i think i'd be staying prettymuch flat broke until i got some sort of higher paying job, or a raise of some sort. even affording an n/a z32 will be a task, that all depends on what's going to happen in the next few weeks here...
not sure about the piping... you'd think they'd say something in the install instructions (if they have em) or something..

well good luck DZ...and their are no instructions, its just a universal oil cooler so everything has to be custom made. i got the motor today and the hosing is alot wider than i though. i can probably do a adapter in the middle of the line, no bid deal.

the only reason i relly want to know is the fact that the 96-newers dont have the VVT, the 90's have valvetrain problems, and the 93+ changed the lower plenum and fuel rails/injectors...i need to know when i got to upgrade the fuel injectors what plugs i need and such...i was thinking maybe i could kinda get a rough idea right now. :dunno:

i have no idea... what's the wire for? if it's got anything to do with wastegate actuation you might want to do something about it... i'm too tired for any good advice...

another problem...what about the knock sensor??? dont worry about it or what??

A little frightening, you don't know the half of it.
I caught a guy breaking into my motorhome. He took off running for the back wall, but before he got over the wall I nailed him with the machty (sword) in the legs. Damn near took his legs off, really bad. Called the police, and they were really pissed I didn't kill him. Now they had to take him to the doctor and have his legs fixed and makeout a report, then put him in jail. I gave them 50 peso's ($5) told them to go get some coffee and I'd finish the job. At that point the fuckin thief told the police he had drugs at his house and was a drug dealer and begged them to arrest him and not let me kill him. Now they had no choice but to arrest him as he confessed to a very serious law and they were pissed at him, thanked me and dragged the shit out of my yard.
The happy peaceful world I was raised in as a youth is gone. In it place is wars, laws, restrictions, violence, corrupt governments and a enviroment being distroyed faster than the fastest jet plane.
Am I worried, not a bit, my cycle is comming to a end. It's you the young of the world I feel sorry for. You never got to taste the freedom of running free like a deer or watch bear catch fish in the rivers. There is no such thing as freedom. Freedom, means free without cost. Everything costs. The zoos, climbing a mountian, fishing, hunting, racing, visiting a museum, camping at yellowstone, watching TV. These were all free when I was a kid. Now over half what you earn goes for taxes, insurance and shit to support the government so they can make sure you pay for everything and nothing is free anymore. Why? Cause there here to help you.
You realize most of you drive a car that cost more ($9.200) than the 1st 3 bedroom house I got when I got married. In fact most of you pay more in taxes than I made a year ($3,700) when I got married.
A little frightened of what is going on??? You should be. It's fucked up.

Al,
great story!!!
and i, even in my lifetime, i have seen the world diminishing to what i call trash. for some reason, people just dont have the moral standards that they used to have. everyone thinks its ok to go and rob people and cause havoc...it didnt used to be like that, even in my days. i used to be able to walk next door and eat lunch at my neighbors house. now my neighbor is a house full of 10+ people that are turning bathrooms and garages into bedrooms. i dont know if it is the government making people turn this way by the way it goes about business or just people have lower standards period. i have worked my ass off the past 12 years of my life, whether it was school, school and work, or just work. just because i know i dont want to be the person on the street begging for money. now i am in a poisition where i could possible live very lavishly for the rest of my life, but i will not stop here...i want to keep going until im completely satisfied with my work and efforts. do i have higher standards or am i just "old" fashioned???

Thats why I live here. I don't belong in society anymore. I was raised beliving you had the right to protect yourself and your property, but thats not true anymore, not in the USA. Some countrys it's legal to cut off a persons right hand if they steal from you. How many left handed people would be running around the USA if that was the law? In Mexico if you catch a thief on your property you can legally kill them.
Laws are suppost to be passed to protect innocent citizens, not protect the crooks.
How many innocent people due you think are in jail cause they couldn't afford a good attorney? I know 3 personally that are in prison that are innocent.
Our past president's have set the standard that lying is ok, OJ Simpson that murder is ok if you have the money to beat the system. And now a child molester will walk because of bucks. Ready for this one? Abortion is legal, unless you kill a pregenant woman, then it's double murder.
As a kid I was taught to hate the Germans and Japs, then the Russian's and Chineese. Then I was sent to Korea and learned how to kill them and then sent to VietNam and kill more. You know something? I went to Japan, China, Germany and spent 18 months in Russia, and you know what? They don't hate me, and are really neat people. We always have to kill. In the name of peace lets declare war and kill abunch of people. That's like saying in the name of virginity go out and rape a woman.
Your right, if I lived in the USA, the country I served 2 wars for in the name of freedom, I'd be in jail.
When it make's any scence please tell me.

K3, When the only choice you have is twedly dee and twedly dumb Bush was the right choice. I knew Kerry in VietNam and he was a fake then as he is now. He should have been tried for treason then and should be now. Bush isn't the best but he's the better of the 2 evil's.
Trust me,the only thing that will save the USA is the young people getting tired of the shit and making the leaders that are breaking the law and taking away the American's right's accountable for there actions and according to law treason is punishable by death.
Sorry but I love my country but these low lifes have taken it away from me and I'm angry.
I told you I spent 18 months in Russia..Well while I was there I found 53 US MIA's that the government won't bring back. I had all there information so I could provide it to the government and bring them home. I contacted them by Warren Christopher Sec. of State and 2 days later my house was sorrounded by US Marsall's, FBI, State police and sheriff's and I was taken into custody and put in the county jail till I turned over all documents I had and signed a statement if I ever disclosed this information I would be held for treason against the USA. Then I was released. I was advised by my attorney to sell my business and leave the country. So now basicily I'm a man without a country. I will go to my grave knowing my country has lied to the people and I can't do a thing about it, unless I want to spend my last days in prison. If I knew I was dying I would contact all53 familys and blow the horn on them, plus contact the news media and provide them with the facts so they could go to Russia and prove what I say is true.
I DON"T FUCKIN LIE and these people need to be tried for the crimes they've comitted.

thanks...i got a little trick if anyone plans on doing theres.
but yeah, i tried to start pieceing together the intercooler piping and i would have definitely had to drill 2 massive holes in each side of the condensor and for some reason, i dont think it would have worked properly after that. the Z32's engine bay looks crammed but you dont really have any idea until you have to put everything in. alot of things have to go in a certain order or else it wont fit because that last part you put in is in the way. pain the butt...

Lots of kickass cars with lots of kick ass parts available.
As an added bonus, we generally dont shoot each other every second day.
