yea, lucky for me there is alot of local support for my 510. i just recently put them on, don't have them dialed in yet, but soon, very soon.

here is another shot of the carbs when i was installing them, before the air cleaners, lines, and linkage went on. gives a good look at my header too. the engine is a L20b under that 1600 valve cover.

So driving to school a few days back, and I spot this decent condition Zed parked on the side of the road, so I pull up and start check it out... Funny part, the owner was still inside... Ooooh if you could have seen his face. :rofl:

Anyway, we got to talking about Zeds, and I told him I have a Civic I've been thinking of getting rid of... He looks at me and asks what kind, I tell him. And he says he's very interested, as he's seen me driving it around, and he thinks it's a nice little car.

Anyway, we set up a straight up trade for the two cars... His Zed is a 1990 Twin Turbo 5-Speed with 151,000 miles, so we cleared some room in the shop, and I started looking at parts to order.

Well, the night before the deal, I was about to start ordering all of the rebuild parts, and a few go fast goodies that my budget could afford for the time being... And I get "the" call... "Man I was just looking at the car, and I think I want to keep her... Sorry dude."

i know what you mean, i see $5k and $10k 510's on ebay all the time. sure they are nice, (some are freakin awesome) but i would never want to buy someone else's finished project. it may cost more to build your own, but it is yours. every little detail can be the way you want it and if you do the build-up over time it is easier on the wallet too.

i've never paid more than $1400 for one and i've owned 5. i've never had a wagon or 4-door, but two of them started out as AT's and i did the conversion to manual.

if you find another auto, pick it up! the auto to manual trans. swap is fairly easy and well doccumented online. a friend and a good set of hand tools is all you really need. (and a sawzall to cut out a hloe for the shifter)

"nissan's first sport-car".....lol. in stock form they are far from sports cars, but with just a little time and money they can become powerful lightweight rear-drive monsters. in CA they are smog-exempt so the swap possibilities are endless. (and you can keep it street registered too)

i've allways wanted to get my hands on a 240z too, but those can be REALLY expensive.

Come to find out, that van has a FULLY built and TURBOED V6 engine...fully balanced and blueprinted bottom end, JE forged pistons and rods...whole 9 yards. It's nothing like the other vans I showed you guys. The older ones are beasts...you can run 25 psi on stock internals as long as you keep it from leaning out. But, I was really disappointed when I saw the performance of this one, though. It's really slow for what it's had done to it.

yeah, apparently the newer 3.3 litre and 3.8 litre v6's were hella weak when it came to boosting them and such... it's the older ones that really had the stout engines and were good for running sick boost numbers..

Oh and btw I think you were right about the GTO (vr4) having too bigger wheel arches. I was looking at a couple of them that had been advertised and damm the arches were huge. MUCH bigger than my ones. I thought that my suspension seemed a little stiff for stock... That and the suspension seemed to be really stiff reguardless of if it was set to 'sport' or 'tour'.

If you get one, get one that has been lowered. It looks MUCH better. :biggrin:
