does the ALC also down-shift before you get out of a corner too? ok, the ALC shifts faster, it still isnt better for the track than a manual. plus, c'mon, a manual is just much more fun than a at. at's are so boring.

depends on your taste...i do agree they are funner, thats why i am changing mine to a manual. but that is where the pros stop for a manual. a well built automatic will eat a manual up in any kind of track if it is set-up properly. and yes when going around a corner you can pre-select the gear. you can easily downshift it in to 2 or 1, whichever suits the corner. but we will stop here...

most automatics from the factory can upshift faster than an average person can with a manual and the Z32's automatic, i bet could give most of you stick fellas a run for your money. :D

Like I said long ago: The fastest cars are AT equipped. But I agree that MT's are more involving and have that 'fun' factor. I just choose the better technology. My new AT will be rebuilt (like new), with 3200rpm stall torque convertor, stronger and lighter flexplate, with my ALC. To top it off I'm also getting a lightened 1pc. drive-shaft. Lower ET's garunteed!

AT is usually faster in the 1/4 cuz it can shift faster and more consistantly than any human could ever dream of...and it won't miss a gear like we sometimes do (and don't lie, you've done it before...). And now "automatics" are even catching up to MT on the tracks because of technology. For instance, the new Enzo will even RPM match your down shifts. It's cool shit...and it will trickle down. I don't know if that system is an auto in the traditional sense, with fluid and all, or not, but that's the BIIIIIIIIGGEST drawback for ATs...the fluid absorbs power.

BUT...nothing is like the good old heel and toe for the corners and double clutching for the 1/4...(just kidding about double clutching...lol...)

we have been giving you time.

and LLZ: it is not only fluid it is alot more weight for the motor so spin and alot more gears for the motor to go through. my Z32 automatic trans weighs atleast 1/3 more than my TT manual transmission i just installed.

Mine was not only quite possibly the safest car I've ever driven, it was also a HELL of a lot of fun to drive...be it FWD or not. My girl's is a 2001 Accord and even IT'S kinda fun to mess with. Are they Z cars? No. But still...it could be much worse. They're still good cars and do have a lot of potential.

id personally rather you get into cavliers...they arent quite as popular among the ricer crowd. plus the Z24 acually offers some decent performance in stock form.

anyways, wes...all i can do is recommend you sell your civic and buy a Z. but if im ever near the east cost, you better be sure i am coming after you with a rubber mallet.
