so I took my z in to get a 4 wheel alignment (just installed illuminas, tss springs, and a bushing kit) and they return the car with 2.9 extra mi on the odometer... wtf!? I asked the guy and he said "ohh, well I had to take it for a test drive." No you didn't asshat. Comments fellers??

yes...when alignment is done they are at an agreement to automatically take it for a test drive, usually under 5 miles to make sure the job was done correctly and there are no issues. this is how my Z was damaged the second time. alignment tech took it for a test drive and an SUV pulled out in front of him.

yeah, well it gets better. My car wouldn't start when I tried to take it home (the starter has NEVER done this before in it's life) and on top of that, I have to take it back in monday to have it finished. My dad used to work for Wards and they never took their cars for a test drive, and this was back when they didn't have lasers to analyze the car's alignment specs.

Anyway you should always tell them asscrack technicians to warm up the engine before they want to beat the fucking shit out of it. That's what I would do.

yeah man... it's esp bad at paint shops and stuff... my buddy had his rx-7 in there to get repainted after a tire hit him and they completely flooded the engine and properfucked it... took him about 2 weeks to get it to start again...

i work in general auto repair, not alignments, but i would expect the tech to test drive and check thier work. even if the spiffy, shiny, laser-guided computer says everything is good, doesn't make it so. the only way you will truly know is to take the car out and drive it. this is auto repair 101 guys, to prevent come-backs you must check your work.

i road test all new brakes, new power steering components, serviced or replaced transmissions, suspension components, air bags, etc., etc., etc. that i do. i don't "drive the shit out of them" like one person said, i drive way safer and slower than i would if i were in my own car.

the bottom line is this, even if it is just for an oil change the tech still has to drive it in and out of the shop to rack it, and if you don't trust your mechanic enough to be responsible with your car how can you trust them to work on it?

When I say asscrack I'm not speaking about the good guys. Sportscars just generally tend to change people behind their wheels. That's where the blown engines cone from. dime, I think you and I are similar; I never piss pound any of my vehicles. I always shift right around 2200-2500 RPMS, unless I want boost (every once and a while in short bursts... well except for racing situations, which hardly ever occur). I treat everyone else's cars/possesions the same. That's why it pisses me off when others don't do the same for me. The technitian who drove my car was cocky and gave me a bad vibe. I'm going back tomorrow, so when I do, I'm going to ride with them (or drive it) if a test drive is necessary, and I'm going to watch them do all the work.

It doesn't take much to flood those -7's. Start it, shut it down after 20 secs, wait 30 minutes. You'll be lucky if you don't have to start it by pulling it with a Z down the road and popping the clutch.

That being said, I do know that there is growing discontent in England with the amount of Poles coming into work in England. They are seeing it as outsiders coming in and udercutting them in the market. That being that they are willing to do the same work for less. I met a Pommy construction workign on my trip and he was telling me that nowadays about 25% of people working in the construction industry are Polish and the number is growing. as for the polish stereotypes here in america...i live about 50 miles south of chicago, chicago being one of the most populated cities in america for polish culture. i can honestly tell you that there are stereotypes just like most countries have stereotypes for every country imaginable. i honestly do not think that polish people are looked down upon because of their language or where they are from. i think it is just a basic stereotype that people enjoy repeating to spark a laugh and make themselves feel just a tad bigger. the human race is a feen for degrading other people. i guarantee 99% of americans couldnt even tell a polish person from any other european country, no disrespect. its just americans are flawed in other cultures around them because learning about Bill Clinton's affair in the White House is much more fascinating than learning a little bit about your neighbors history or culture.

get that fitment issue resolved? was it a flaw in the design by ash?

The intercoolers are so tall that it was a tight fit to get the turn signals back in without the ducts so there is no way it's going to fit with them on. That and the ducts don't quite reach all the way to the grill up front. I have a used set so maybe they were cut or something but just from looking at everything I'm thinkin the system may have been designed around the Jspec fascia.

Even to get the turn signals in I had to leave only one of three intercooler mounting bolts in and bend the bracket a bit to angle the outside edge of the intercooler down. If I played with it more I might be able to get everything to fit better but for now it works. If nothing else I was thinking about getting a second set of stock ducts and cutting them up to extend the ashspec ducts out to the front bumper. Power increase was worth it, especially in the top end.
