Saw a bit of coverage of Car and Driver's driving school thing on tv the other day. You bring your own car and drive it around a little track and a skid pad and what not. yeah, he has intake, headers, exhaust, ignition, and throttle body and he is running really rich and he freaking almost keeps up with me.

Naturally Aspirated Zeds aren't really fast, but God do they feel Fucking good :lol: Sounds like he has a pretty nice Saturn.

Well, we're going up to Stafford, Virginia to look at a Twin Turbo Zed this Saturday, I'll let you guys know how it goes. It's pretty nice, Dark Red exterior, Black Leather interior, bone stock, and ready to rock (As Delerious says).

So we'll see... I won't buy another Zed until I feel good about that car though, I'm not trying to get into a money pit again.

yeah...the aftermarket speakers in my Z32 suck monkey balls. thinking about switching over to some infiniti kappas and rig up some 6x9's in the back do get all the bump i desire in the Z.

yeah, my aftermarket speakers would have bass, i'm just powering them off of my weak output aftermarked deck... the 10's should fill it in quite nicely... oh, and yeah i was really bored... check out the mad detail on the deck:p

tellin you guys...a nice pair of 6x9's are more than enough. the stock stereo system in my grand prix will probably out "bump" alot of aftermarket systems without spending gobs of money. just a thought...

yeah 6x9's will give some bass... but it won't give you that solid low end that subs do.. besides, when i toss them in my 86 it will give me some nice weight in the rear end for when the snow falls :D

I just have 4 6.5" infinity 2 ways. That sounds pretty good. The head is the most important thing. You can have the best system in the world but if you have a crappy head at the top of it all, who cares. Just like with subs...you can have the best subs in the world in the best box in the world, but if you have a peesashit amp, oh well...it'll sound like poop. All you need is a good head, good speakers in the stock locations (4 6.5"-ers is PLENTY) with an amp for them if you so desire, and a good sub with a good amp...MAYBE a pair of tweeters, but that depends. I have 2 subs...kinda overkill (blew the molding out of my window), but it's all good...:biggrin: Use high quality pieces and keep it simple, guys.

yeah, spending the extra money for some quality shit always seems to pay off with car audio especially. its amazing the difference between a cheap amplifier and a very nice expensive amplifier of the same wattage.

as for 6x9's... dont know if they will fit in the stock locations in the 2-seater but in the 2+2 they definitely will not. thats why last summer i had plans on a way to do it. i dont think i want subs...eventhough i have a pair of 12" clarions in a nice enclosed box laying around the garage somewhere.

well, subs in a "normal" box look like crap in the Z, the only times subs look good is if they are in a custom box.

yeah but then you lose all of your hatch space. i very rarely need my hatch for anything but when i do, id like ot be able to use it.

if i were to ever put subs in my car i think i would build a custom box right behind my seats, like in the 2-seater except mine wont have a gas tank there beings i have a 2+2 then put a sub behind each seat. in the middle i would probably add a little compartment to hold my book bag or something of the sort. we will see...

sometime in the future i want to put a 10" sub in my spare tire well.

he does know his stuff about Z31's. he is also on 300zxclub.com he has a Z31 registry and he recently made a Z32 registry, pretty sweet. only 2.5% of Z32's are sapphire blue.

This gave us one HELL of a scare... His modifications are pretty simple in case anyone is wondering. Stock 14B, stock SMIC, 550cc Injectors, FPR, Walbro 255, ACT 2600 Clutch with Light Weight Flywheel, Megan 3" Down Pipe with 3" Exhaust with Magnaflow XL Muffler... Pretty basic stuff, pulling him into the 12 Second passes. Not too bad. :evillol:

on a side note: i saw a mint condition 280zx today. totally stock, totally perfect, this thing looked to have less then 10k miles on it. amazing...never seen it before but he was driving around my home town.

yeah, my buddy with a nicely modded TTZ did a 15.1 1/4 mile.........with a 111 mph trap speed. his tail got loose when he hit boost in 2nd and 3rd gears.

yeah...that must be a big problem with Z32's. i see alot of times a couple seconds slower than it should be due to traction issues.

Jason, I've had chances to buy really nice First Generation DSM's over the past few months. They don't interest me that much, of course they're fast, but they require quite a bit of work... More than it's worth.

I think DSM's are nice cars. Hell, some of them in NC are so fast, it makes my head hurt.
