Now, for my 1000th post, more reasons why I'm cool and you're ****ed

Some stuff for sale:
Stock turbos, 15k on them
Old heads
#1 cylinder exhaust valves
But the others are fine
Stock 95+ 370cc injectors

The areas in red should be filled with metal
The ****ing engine has a sky light
Notice the connecting rod is ripped in half
One side ****ed
Two side ****ed

Plans for tomorrow:

Go buy case of beer...
Take apart Z...

Sounds good, doesn't it? I don't know how/why the FUCK I got saturday and sunday off, but damn it, I'm gunna put it to good use! Heads are coming off this weekend. And yes, there will be pics...first of the massive mess I'm going to make, then of all the cool shit I get for my car.

Complete confidence in the utter sweetness that will be the final result and sheer discipline. Developed while working out. 20 mile runs are awesome, by the end, you're so light headed its like legal crack.

Anyway, a big part of it is that I didn't get to drive it more than a half hour. Barely even a little taste of Z goodness. If I had a week or so then had it taken away, I'm sure it would be tougher.

Re: Now, for my 1000th post, more reasons why I'm cool and you're ****ed

Alright...went and got my case o' beer. That part's done. It was the "taking the Z apart" part that's holding me up reguarding today's plans. I decided to crack a beer open and start studying up on the job at hand. Whipped out the Hayne's manual and started reading what head removal will involve. FUCKING SHIT!

Step 1: Relieve fuel pressure...no biggie.
Step 2: Disconnect battery...whee...
Step 3: Drain engine coolant...rather not, but ok.
Step 4: Remove intake collector, timing belt (wanted to replace it anyway, so that's cool), injector assembly, intake manifold, both cam pullies and rear timing cover...alright...I knew I was gunna have to take a bunch of shit off just to get to the heads, so yea...this is a bitch, but it was expected.
Step 5: We JUST got to the actual removal of the head. Gotta remove A/C compressor, distributor, TURBO and EXHAUST MANIFOLD...not to mention a bunch of other shit...WHAT THE FUCK!?

Why you have to take the TURBO AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD OFF is BESIDES ME! Anyway...I'm gunna need more tools. I thought I'd be able to squeek by with my dinky ass little tool kit...THAT'S not gunna happen. I'm missing too much stuff to be able to pull of a job of this size...I don't even have jack stands or a real jack.

I also realized a draw back of "Winter Projects"...WINTER'S FUCKING COLD! It's in the mid-low 40s here...NOT "working on the car" weather.

HA...ehh...I'm not in horrible shape, but I was NEVER a runner. THAT would fucking kill me...literally.

Well, thats mostly because just about everything is bolted to the head.

A head removal is like open heart surgery, somethings are going to get pushed aside and cut open.

I knew it would be pretty intensive, but what the fuck? The turbo isn't attached to the heads!

I dunno...I might start ordering parts first. I'm in no hurry...I have no parts to replace the old ones with yet anyway, so not like taking it apart would do any good right now. I dunno.

Go get another case of beer, and by the time you finish it, it well be too late to start the job, so you can try again tomarrow. No biggie. Then the next day start the process all over again, another case of beer ect. ect.
