at least now you won't need custom mounts or linkage. b16 in a 5g is cheaper, w00t!

whee.... my car got backed into by my g/f on saturday, not her fault really, i live on a steep hill. I was more worried what happened to her car instead of mine. thankfully it was the 6g not my 4g. $2800 hundred estimate at a shop on a 3300 blue book car. its totalled, so time to find me a new car, time to upgrade to something nice :)

You just use 2 stock mounts (rear, passenger side; d-series mounts), a b-series driver's side mount, and an integra rear mount bracket.

But here's something unrelated. Did anyone else hear that Lindsay Lohan got busted AGAIN last night for drunk driving and possession of cocaine?!?! That sh*t is hilarious. I'm sure she just didn't realize her license was suspended; you know...the whole paris hilton defense. Maybe her 3rd stay in rehab will help her get clean :screwy:

From what I understand she is just now getting charged for when she ran her Benz into a bush and left it there. When police checked it out they cound coke in the car. So these are new charges for old dirt. Why they held the charges til after she went to rehab I don't know... celeb treatment. She'll get off with 9 months supervised probation I bet

CivicSpoon
07-24-2007, 11:16 AM
no, these are new charges from a new bust. She got busted again last night (early this morning) for driving drunk again, and they found the coke in her pocket at the police station.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070724/ap_on_en_mo/lindsay_lohan;_ylt=AgM9KB_nNvR54bQPF9nwHPsDW7oF
But I don't think she had her court date for the first bust yet. She'll probably get nothing for that, since she went into rehab and she's a celebrity.

Not sure on new car yet, maybe is300. I only say not her fault cause of the hella steep hill i live on, and we arent claiming insurance. Shes giving me 1k and i found a buyer to buy my car asis for 2k so im getting more than insurance would of gave me for it, since its already has a salvaged title. So we'll see what the bank can do for a loan and go from there, see what i can afford. =)

Never drove an IS or an auto? I assume you mean an IS but I only ask because I used to work with a lady who had never driven an automatic before and when she was asked to move a coworkers minivan she said she didn't know what to do. But I should mention that this lady is startlingly dumb, but that only makes me wonder how she even manages to use her left and right feet cooperatively

CivicSpoon
07-24-2007, 09:55 PM
Hey man, that's not funny. I drove my 5-speed civic for a year straight and then had to drive my parents auto mini-van, and I had trouble with it. I kept moving my left foot over looking for the clutch pedal every time I got to a stop sign. Took me about a week to get use to it.

AudioGuy93DelSol
07-24-2007, 09:58 PM
I stomp my left foot every time I'm about to start and automatic trying to get the clutch, but now knowing how to drive an auto? She looses all points she earned for driving a manual.

00accord44
07-24-2007, 10:12 PM
My left foot gets jumpy in autos too. Last time I took a rental on a road trip it took a good hour for my left foot to stop hunting for a pedal to press when I had to stop. This lady didn't even know how to start the van. She said, and I quote "Which one do I press so I can start it?" She was told to just press the brake and she said "Which one is that?" I shit you not

I haven't driven a manual since I sold the crx. But clutch operation is like riding a woman, something you never forget how to do. You may stall a couple of times but once you get going it's always a pleasure

My mom asked me how I feel about my sister (relatively new stick driver) driving my car. I told her that she'll have to learn not to slam the shifter through the gears before she gets a hold of my already sensetive transmission. And she's also gonna have to break her habits of accelerating from near dead stop in 2nd and 3rd gear... both habits she picked up from mom :shakehead

turtlecrxsi
07-25-2007, 11:34 AM
My dad used to ride clutches. He teaches driving now for a living. It's pretty sad because when he's driving regularly he drives as slow as student drivers. He and my mom were following me recently through the city... them in the Lincoln Town Car and me and my wife in the Jeep. They were right behind me but I had to not use the gas to accelerate down the street so they wouldn't fall more than 100 yards behind me. I was actually riding the brakes. Actually, before all that I was meeting them at the Waffle House on the hwy from the direction they were coming to my neighborhood (they don't really know the area too well) and I pulled out with plenty of room for them to do so behind me and a Ford Lightning weaves behind me in no time to make the same turn we were. I didn't want to brake check because only assholes do that but I immediately pulled right over after making the turn so that my dad could get back behind me.

IMO, I think driving too slow is rather dangerous. If I'm stuck behind a slow driver I get nervous because I can't exactly whip it ariound them in the Jeep unless there is ample room. I usually end up flooring it to get by. My wife thinks it's "excessive" and I try to explain how I don't want to be rear-ended because somebody in traffic is not paying attention.

Edit- She was spotted chasing another car? Movie star turned street racer... awesomeness

the story goes something like: she was chasing after her personal assistant who she fired...but wasn't done yelling yet :dunno: apparently the mom of the assistant knew her daughter got fired but didn't know why so she called the cops, which lead to Linsey being busted drunk with coke in her pockets. f'in' rich kids with no problem except the problems they cause themselves over money.

ugh...jer is trying to talk me into painting the Legend and sell it for an auto Legend :screwy:

i mainly don't like AT for driving in the snow. i like being able to control the rpm action.

my "L" doesn't have traction control...the "LS" does along with climate control and the pass. seat has power too. i'm pretty sure those are the only major differences.

00accord44
07-25-2007, 01:48 PM
The only time I believe AT being advantageous over MT is in rush hour traffic when your left leg starts cramping up from constant feathering of the clutch.

FrodoGT
07-25-2007, 02:28 PM
thats the only time I thought it was annoying in my crx..ut the hatch clutch feels like a hydro tranny compared..plus I have ac now so I dont complain one bit about the feathering in traffic. Plus the car will actually get onto a roll with no throttle, unlike the crx which would makes the wheels stutter and jump without a little throttle.

00accord44
07-25-2007, 02:33 PM
When I discovered the accord would roll with no throttle I thought it was pretty cool but the left leg muscles still get tired of all the calculated slow release after an hour of bumper to bumper traffic :swear:

AT comes in handy when in 4wd tooling around in the mountains... :grinyes:

Actually, AT comes in handy while driving anywhere I guess, especially in traffic.
