Went and did a little back country snowshoeing today. Beautiful day out, average of about 2-3 feet of snow. Went a total of about 8 1/2 miles.

Sorry but whats CNY? Al Gore is trying to gain more sheeps. Sad thing is, people are buying that bullshit. Inconvienant lies. He probably has his money invested in energy saving automobiles and he figures out that the only way to boost his investments is for people to fall for his global warming theories. Hows that for an assumption? lol

^ That's absolutely part of it. Every 3 years, the Pacific Ocean current warms up, along with a change in air pressure. This naturally creates a mild/warmer winter and droughts in the summer time. Of course this is followed by a La Nina system that is the opposite (so everyone be prepared for a poopy winter next year). And this has been going on for hundred of years, before the industrial revolution. But people use the warmer dryer weather as an excuse for global warming, when it's not.
Then along comes some personal facts that I've noticed. When I was a kid, we use to have 90+ degree days in the summer like it was nothing; we had 6 or 7 this past summer (El Nino maybe?). And even my 80 yr old grandmother said the same thing. When she was a kid, there was no such thing as mild 70 degree days in the summer time (I'm sure there were some here and there but not nearly as many as now). So, we're actually getting cooler here rather than getting "warmer".
And one more thing can be found by going to weather.com. They list the record highs and lows for each day. Take a look at almost anywhere, and you'll see that the majority of the record highs were in the 1920's or 1940's (though there are a few in the '90s). If global warming is such a serious problem, shouldn't we be breaking records like crazy, or at least a good amount in the summer?
Also there are FAR more restrictions on factories and automobile emissions than there were decades ago. I'm not saying that emissions are great right now, but they're certainly a hell of a lot better than they have been. We're also getting smarter about cutting down trees. We're now using technology to plant trees in designated areas and only cut down the older ones. Logging companies use GPS to tell them where the oldest trees are, so those can be cut down first, while the not-so old trees are given time to grow into full size. After those are cut down, new trees are planted in their place and allowed to grow for decades before being cut down. This is far different from the old standard of just cutting down an entire forest and letting the earth replant itself. I know this is how it's done in the US and Canada, however I'm sure some places are still using the old method.
What about the icebergs melting? Wasn't the entire northern hemisphere covered in ice a few centuries ago? And weren't we also in an Ice Age even longer ago? Well the ice started melting long before the industrial revolution. I have no facts to back this up, this is just my personal opinion. But I believe that the ecologist have things completely incorrect (pretty crazy huh?). I believe that as long as there are still ice caps at the poles, that we are still infact IN the Ice Age. The world has thawed out for millions of years, for natural reasons. And I feel that we're still just thawing out. Like I said, this is just my own personal opinion and I have no facts to back it up. But until someone shows me some unequivocal proof, I will continue to believe this. And I doubt I'll ever see any proof to change my opinion, because we don't have records from millions of years ago to tell us why the ice started melting in the first place (which may hint to a reason they are still melting today).
We're treating the planet better than we have in centuries, each year or so we are getting better and better. We pass more an more laws (or at least try to until the government sticks their hands in the corporate cookie jar and vetos it). Even the Ozone layer has healed a little in the past 10 years alone. Global warming is just a way to try and scare people into taking better care of the environment, plain and simple. Other tactics simply weren't working as well as most would like so they came up with this new policy.

True, but I think everyone here is intelligent enough to know that this is a discussion of opinions. If someone has a different opinion than me, then I try to repect that and hear their side (just using myself as an example there). It's the people who are already troublemakers, that come in and start the name calling, and are too opinionated to even hear the other side of things. I've seen a few conversations in here that have almost finished through with complete respect, but it's the a-holes that try to get under other people's skins; not for the sake of discussion but because they intentionally try to aggrivate. If it gets too out of hand we'll just stop the discussion.

I completely disagree with that. I moved in with 2 of my good friends a few years ago for about 3-4 months (1 male and 1 female). The reason we only stayed that long was because me and 1 of the roommates started to HATE our other roommate (which was strange because I later found out they were both sleeping together, but that's a whole different story). The point is that you don't always know if you can deal with being around someone all day every day, even if you're really close to the person. So in my opinion it's better the play house for a while than just getting married only to realize you can't stand the person :D
On a side note to this story; I still talk to the friend who I couldn't stand living with, while I've talked to the other roommate that I got along with; once in the past 4 years (backstabbing prick).

I was being sarcastic. I just think it's funny how people put all kinds of stuff in the title that has nothing to do with the product they're selling. And on many occasions people don't know any better and buy the stuff thinking it will fit their car, and it doesn't. Certainly a good markenting strategy.
Damn I hit my foot on a wicker rocking chair today, and my foot is killing me. The back end of the part that rocks has a sharp edge on it, and I caught the top of my foot across it. Now I have this big bump (golf ball size) on the top of my foot, though it does seem to have gone down within the past few hours.
