I know what you mean Blu. My Jeep is just a big toy though. I wouldn't have bought the Jeep if I knew I was still going to have to commute 100 miles a day to work and back. The Passat is getting old but it is still pretty sweet for what it is. I've been researching newer sedans though. I like the Altima 2.5 SL with the Bose system etc. You get a lot for what you pay for. They're going to make an Altima Coupe which looks sorta like a fwd z IMO. Unfortunately, I can't afford anything until the Jeep is paid for. I'm going to go look at TSX's anyway... LOL Nice to dream I guess...

Oh yeah, yesterday I was coming home after dropping off some bills at the P.O. and just coming back via the back road about to cross over the highway when some stupid college chick (I'm guessing) pulls out in front of me when I was about to run over the front end of her Impala. But because of my insanely awesome driving skills I totally avoided a wreck (anti-lock brakes!). I wasn't going very fast though. Still, if I didn't touch the brakes I would've ran right over her passenger side front end. Then the bitch proceeded to pull away like nothing happened all fast. So I floor it and lean on the horn because, frankly, I was fucking pissed! She quickly makes a right on red and I do the same and she pulls into the nearby yuppy apartment complex across from the private university nearby (hence my belief she was some college bitch). I flash the lights lean on the horn tell her she's number one and proceed toward my neighborhood a few blocks down. Since I was all riled up I decided to circle back and check out if there were any skid marks, but there weren't any. Then I cruised through that apartment complex and found the Impala and stopped behind it. Then I motored on home. I don't mind being cut off because it happens all the time and the Jeep is pretty slow but when you cut me off and almost wear my Michelins then proceed to race home like nothing happened it sort of strikes a nerve. Damn bitches... LOL

naw, i didn't turn in my plates when my insurance expired. NY sucks like that, you get your license suspended for how ever many days you didn't turn in your plates, in my case 150 days. But at least they give you the option to pay $8 a day, for every day you didn't turn in your plates. I don't have $1,200 to shell out to do that, so I'll be walking for a while.

You probably need to set your screen resolution, it usually sets it to 800 X 600 by default. First, make sure you have the right drivers for your video card (some times windows won't find it on it's own), you can find them on the graphic's card manufactuerers website. When that's all set, right-click the desktop and click "properties". Then click the "Settings" tab and adjust the "Screen resolution" bar to your liking.

changin my diff fluid today

Horray for the ease and simplicity of changing Toyota/Lexus differential fluids, as compaired to domestic vehicle manufacturers...

Going to do the front, rear, and transfer case, or just the rear diff? :nono:

Killa_CRX

I've found that the only crummy thing about driving to Colorado is, no matter what direction I take, I'll be spending a good 600 miles driving through flat, featureless farm land...

The quickest route is up through oklahoma to kansas, and then directly west to colorado... and I've been through kansas before, and there's nothing there....
my other option is to go directly across texas to new mexico, and then cut up north on i25 through the mountains all the way to colorado.... still takes me through 600 miles of texas farm land (even through Leveland, TX... so named because the land is completely flat for 200 miles in any direction... Level Land). but the pay off would be the new mexico desert and the mountains through new mexico and colorado.

The route through kansas is a 14+ hour trip, the route through texas and new mexico is an 17+ hour trip....
3 hours and about 200 miles.... the question is, would the pay off be worth it to take in the vistas on the scenic route? I can't decide.
If we go the long way, I'd probably be spending the night in Albuquerque, NM.

Either way... it's going to be an ass load of driving for the new Civic :icon16: .

Right click on your desktop..with no other windows open, and click properties..on one of those tabs that come up youll find a slider to change your resolution..its probably very low at 600x800 or something rediculous like that..try 1024x768 or 1186x854 (I think thats it anyway). and see if that helps

You can do both, all, or whatever you want..... the transfer case takes the same gear oil as the diffs...... your land cruiser is still full time 4wd, right? so the transfer case gears are always doing work, just like the diff gears. So it's never a bad idea to change it too......

Do you know if the fluids have been changed regularly before you got the cruiser?

Check/set your valve clearances.... the valves on those older toyotas were supposed to be checked and set about every 60k miles.
And it's a pain in the ass because Toyota uses shims to make their adjustments.... so you have to take the valve covers off, check the clearance, remove the cams, check the thickness of the shims that are in the engine that you need to change, and then hope you have the one you need, or put the engine back together and wait for the ones you need to come in, and then tear it back down again later.... big pain in the ass.
