I always wanted to catch a police beatdown in progress (as long as I'm not on the receiving end)
Once I watched a cocaine filled Uhaul lead police on a chase through my neighborhood for about 10 minutes. The cops damn near wiped my moms parked car in the process. In the end, the Uhaul got caught trying to outrun police on a major street... what an idiot. Police Interceptor > Uhaul any day

Oh, so im pretty sure I found my car..after countless crapass GS-R's with high prices, high miles and electrical/mechanical problems (not one of the fuckers could hit vtec). 55k miles, tokico suspension, AEM intake, Greddy exhaust. 205/40/17's (.1% off stock size :P) and other than that its bone stock..just the way I want it. No more effed up wiring for me.

I was looking for GSRs forever but I just couldn't find the right one that was unmolested so I gave up on them. I still like the GSR but I doubt I'll ever own one...

I just found an ad for a 90 model Si CRX... from the pictures it looks like it's in prestine condition... no dents, the paint shines like it's fresh from the show room floor, the interior is spotless and tear free... it has 115K miles on the car.... the only thing wrong is a blown head gasket.
They want $2k for it.... is it worth it to buy a perfect body and interior for $2k?
My first car was a white CRX just like it... and after I sold it, it's like I've been chasing the dragon every since, trying to get a car that is as nice and as fun to drive as it was.... maybe if I'd just bought another CRX, eh?

If its just the head gasket then hell yes it is! CRX's sell for far more than that here man. OH! which reminds me...the dealership I went to that has the integra above, wanted to give me $500 on a trade in for my car..I laughed in the guys face (literally)...probably not a good idea in retrospect lol.

I went by to look at it today... and other than the normal tear on the drivers side seat, it is in as good of condition as it looked like in the pictures I saw.... flawless body, and nearly spotless interior.
Engine is not usable... looks like after the gasket went it was driven until it died.... timing belt and timing belt cover are melted completely. The head is obviously warped and the cylinders look fried..... luckily I have a friend that has a D16A6 laying around....
But yeah... my car is sold... I'm going to pick up my newest rex tonight... and I will once again be..... Killa_CRX

I would feel bad selling it to a fellow AF'er unless they really knew what they were getting into. I would prefer to find a local sucker that wasnt going to put body kits and crap on it, maybe someone who would completely reswap it or something..also parting it out has crossed mym ind, but really only the aftermarket stuff is of any value to anyone, and it would kill me to do it.

Ha! That wiring mess is not really that bad.. at least nothing looks melted... I've rebuilt a few melted wiring harnesses... that's tough when you just have to cut off both connectors and start from scratch. Especially if you don't have a wiring diagram to work from (BMW wiring diagrams are worthless)

Yeah..nothing melted..just about 15 wires not connected, 20 butt connectors and the rest of the harness looks just as bad. Ive gone through and soldered everything in the engine bay. But it really just needs new wires run altogether. And Ill never have my AC back :( I cant even begin to figure out where the hell it disappeared to.

That's a nice looking crx. I still can't understand why you'd get rid of a car that was engineered 10 years later for one older. The EK hatch is a tight little car. I'd love to have one with a nice b-series engine swap, rear discs and a few other goodies. The body shape looks like a Peugeot 206 Rally car (well not really) but I've always liked them. There is a black EK around here who I used to see just piddle about but when he'd get on forget it, the crx would always fall short. That ride was quiet even though it was clear it had some kind of exhaust and engine swap... possibly turboed... definitely a sleeper.

Even though the EK is newer... most of the chassis is still the same as the CRX.... the advantages the EK have over the CRX were purely eletronic in my opinion.
CRX still has short arm, long arm suspension set up..., still 4wheel independant, non-mcpherson... but 600lbs lighter, 2 seater (I'm obsessed with small cars).
There was nothing done to my EK or any EK that I can't do to my CRX.
And yes, the interior is CLEAN... there is a tear in the drivers seat like almost every 4th gen.... but other than that, it's a clean COMPLETE interior.

You would know better than me. The only way I'd get an EK is if most of it had Si parts put in it (including the engine if not a better one). I used to like small cars but lately I'm more concerned with safety. It seems like there aren't that many small cars on the roads these days where I live.

Why does it have to be so damn hard to read turbo compressor maps. I used a turbo calculator thingy online, and it picks a turbo that is only good for 200hp! So wtf am I supposed to do? Go up to the next size turbo that will help me reach the hp goal I'm looking for, at the risk of wasting $ on something I don't really want? Risking going over the surge line of the compressor maps? Guess I better stop being a lazy ass and finish reading Maximum Boost so I'll have a better idea of what I'm doing wrong...

Engine change progress is slow when you only have about an hour or two out of each day to work on it.... I've been staying late after work every day this week try to get the new motor in my car... finally got it set in the chassis late last night.. going today to finished hooking everything up, so hopefully I can start it up Monday or tuesday night.
Whenever I end up doing a Bseries swap, I'm going to end up building the engine up at home next time, and just have it ready to drop on day 1... this 'work on it when I have time' crap just doesn't work so well for swapping motors as I would like.
Yall should see what I've been driving for this past week while I've been working on my CRX... a friend from work let me use his 85 toyota pickup.... it's blue, rusty, one speaker, original radio, 4speed... and I work 60 miles from home.... so 120 miles each day in this thing is starting to get to me. But, at least it is something to drive for now.
