i have yet to test drive a Fit...i've gotta take a look at the new Scion and revamped xB
The Fit drives about like a stock civic... not very spectacular, but it's a good car with a lot of potential.
From what I've seen of the new Scions, I'm not really liking what I'm seeing. I always liked the xB like it was, but I don't so much like this new one... the way it looks at least.

Not too keen on any mercedes, but the Smart (Mercedes A-class) is pretty freaking cool! There are a few of them running around close to where I work, but I've never had a chance to drive one.

haha that car is a classic. I've seen it on ebay at least 3 times now, and that's only when someone has posted a link to it. Definently quality work, too bad they went the wrong direction. And who ever buys it has to be 7' + tall to be able to fill it up with gas, since the gas cap is on the roof of the car.

My girl kinda liked it.... I thought it was pretty stupid... and there was almost no action until the last 30-45 minutes..... so 2 hours of wasted space, with 30 minutes of 'ok' fight scenes.
I never realized how much I would miss having a nice sound system until selling my Civic and not having more than two speakers to play my sounds.... I'm starting to think I'm going to put off the K20 thing until I get a really kick ass sound system in the Fit. I can roll slow, but rolling without loud music is starting to get to me.
And every time I build a sound system it gets louder and more expensive. Not that I'm going to use more power than I did for the last system... probably will be less (2000watts for the last system) but I'm going with a more diverse set up of speakers and electronics. SQ all the way for me... except for the head unit (which will probably be alpine) I'm going with all CDT Audio speakers and electronics.
Last system I ended up converting over to all CDT Audio speakers, but I was using Orion and Audiobahn amps.... they were good, but CDT Audio just released their own series of amps that I'd like to try out for this next system.

Hell no... manual trans!...the paddle shifter is b/s! the transmission still shifts where it wants to, when it wants to... even in the sport shift mode.
Besides that, I've been driving IS250's and IS350's with paddle shifters for a year now, and let me tell you, it's very akward to drive with them....turn the wheel enough to turn the steering wheel upside down, and then you're playing a guessing game as to which paddle was the upshift paddle and which was the down shift paddle.
I'll take a stick over a paddle any day! and you can quote me on that! :smooch:

You're thinking of a completely different car. If you look closer this one is an EG with just a really wide body kit on it. The car you're thinking of had the fuel cell with the gas cap on the roof.

Naw, it's the same one. Look at the 13th and 15th pic, you can see the fuel filler hose going up to the roof. And on the 2nd pic, you can just see the fuel cap on the passenger side rear roof: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Civic-Hatchback_W0QQitemZ140116953781QQihZ004QQcategoryZ 6256QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Well... the Fit is no go.
The dealership I was dealing with has just been stringing me along on the Fit... when I first contacted them the 1st of this month, there were two Fit's like I'd wanted... set up an appointment for the following day (my day off). by the time I got there, apparently they were both sold... so they said they had one coming in soon, so I reserved one by putting a deposit down... they said at that time that they would be here the monday of this week. Monday rolls around, no call... I called today to see what was up, and the sales man told me the cars still weren't there, and he wasn't sure when they were going to be in.... called a friend of mine at another Honda dealership, and he did some checking up and told me the shipments had come in already..... so wtf? I called the guy and told him I was coming to get my deposit back tomorrow. Didn't like dealing with them anyways!
Called up my friend again to see what he could do for me... he said a Fit like I want would be about a month and a half out, and the MSRP price went up $1100.... so I ordered an Si Sedan for $20k instead.

I hope you get your deposit back without issue. Damn salespeople. Starting to see Si sedans more and more around here. One of the old 4gers who lives sorta close to me (gitrdone...) got one I think. I like the coupes. My wife likes them too but I don't think she wants a Honda :(
I finally get to pick up the rest of my living room stuff... black metal and glass/tile tables. I have to put them together which should be really fun (ie. pita)...

Legally they have to give it back to me. I gave it to them to get a car that they can't/never got me. If they try to tell me it's too late, I can call the police and accuse them of theft.
I don't foresee a problem like that though.
I'm not really fond of the Si coupes... but I really like the sedans! and if we had the hatchback versions here in the US, I'd have already bought one without question.... besides not really liking the coupes, I'm looking at how easy it'll be to get a baby safety seat in and out of.

so we drove down to greg's and stayed the night, picked the car up the next morning, and headed home.
it's a 1993 Legend Coupe, 6 speed (137,000mi). holy cow, not easy to find!!! the majority are AT sedan. you would think the few coupes they made would be a no brainer to be MT, nope. i read somewhere ALL jdm legends are AT. i'm sure that has something to do with next to no MT here in the US. things that make you go, hmmmm.....!
the clutch is slipping. will order it today, it will arrive tomorrow. cheapest replacement is $600 thru acura. center force was something ridicilous like $1100-1500. competition clutch said they don't make one but if i sent them ours they would custom make it. tempting but i don't want to wait. the clear coat on the roof, trunk, hood is flaking. i intend to take care of it after the turbo civic is sold. it has Koni struts, eibach lowering springs, 17" arc wheels..1 is curbed in a way only pics will discribe. it looks like a giant can opener went to town on the lip. oh well. he gave us the stock wheels, struts, coils, and unpained OEM spoiler.
huge props to greg for helping us find it, going to test drive it for us, letting us arrive at midnight & crash for the might......THANK YOU!!!!

I feel the same way about my wife's VW. We want to get some 16" Borbet 7 spokes and then a respray. First we have to get new brakes. Kinda scary approaching 200k miles though. there was another but i can't find it
the 91-92 looks the same body style wise but is different from the 93 as they introduced the 6 speed in 93. i have to assume because it was new for 93 that is why there are less than they made 94-95. do a search for 93 coupe 6 speed specifically and see what you come up with.

What a shitty 2 days (I guess 3 days since it's AM here). I'm not looking for any sympathy, because I know everyone has problems and goes through rough times. That's what life's about, you have to take the bad with the good. I just really need to vent for my own piece of mind.
Tuesday (the 15th) my mom's cousin was killed in an accident. He was a county supervisor something, where he took car of roads, parks, removing trees and limbs, etc. Well he was helping unload a truck (industrial truck) full of a hacked up tree, right before he was supposed to go home. Part or the entire stump of the tree slid off the back and landed right on his head. It's been all over the news the past 2 days, and apparently it was a pretty brutal accident (no one has the full details and we probably don't even want to know). And on an even creepier note, his father died in a similar accident 15 years ago on the 16th of May...1 friggin' day.
Then this happens...My grandmother has been in the hospital and rehab center since january from valve replacement surgery. She had a really hard time; multiple strokes during the operation, as well as pneumonia. She's been in the rehab center since the 1st week in March; her right arm and leg were almost completely paralyzed from the strokes. But she's a fucking trooper and has regained a lot of movement in the past month. But the news of what happened to her nephew hit her hard, he was like a son to her. So 9PM my mom finally got home after seeing my grandmother and then spending time with her cousin's wife and kids. 9:08PM she gets a call from the rehab center saying that my grandmother went to the hospital because she thought she was having a heat attack. So went to the hospital immediately and just now (@ 3AM) got back home. When we got there she said she feels fine now, and the doc said she may have had a very minor heart attack and she'll be there for the next few days for observation.
Shit happens. Some things you can control, but most you can't. Live life to the fullest, and do what makes you happy while you still can.

CivicSpoon...sorry to hear about your families rough patch in time, keep your head up!!
I like the 95'. The engine looks like a longitudinal inline but it probably is fwd like my wife's VW 1.8t longitudinal fwd...
that is the same engine in the 93. it is a c32a, the nsx has a c32b...they are literally the same engine EXCEPT the nsx has dohc and the legend is sohc. the other obvious is the nsx is rwd and the legend is fwd. other than that they simply took the engine and moved it from front to back :icon16:
gotta love those 5 freeway potholes...and yes i drove it home 350mi without losing an ounce of air :screwy:
