A few weeks ago, there was a town near me where some truck ripped down the fiber optic wire for the internet phone service. Some how people were still able to make local calls, but no long distance. Oh yeah, and they couldn't call 911 either :screwy: Luckily my family got rid of our home phone, and we all have cell phones now (family plan). Cheaper than regular phone service, but probably not as cheap as voip (is that the right word?) phones.

Yes, Voice over IP. I dont have a house phone either..nobody ever called it except telemarketers...probably because nobody ever answered it. Ever.

the very second i posted this...and i do mean the very second, the power went out, again

i got our cell phones turned off...feels good not having people get in tough with you whenever they want...we still keep a phone in the car for emergency calls, but we switched back to the house phone...i like not having my cell phone...ad why do we still call them cell phone anyway :dunno:

I haven't had a land line telephone in like over 6 years. My wife had it when we first met but she never answered it anyway and I'm not much of phone talker. I've had a cellphone with the same number for over 9 years. It's always great when some idiot miss-dials my cellphone number and says something like "is this a new number?" And I laugh at them and tell them this has been my number forever. They never believe you though. I get interesting miss-dials on my work phone because even though the odds are slim of this particular miss-dial they still get me instead of the local Mental Health Office...

I just used the house phone for the first time in about 7 years. But it was only cause I was doing a phone interview and I didn't want my cell to screw me over

I only use my cell but I don't answer numbers I don't have in my phone book or recognize. Every time I do I end up regretting it cause its always somebody I don't wanna hear from :shakehead

when we do our drawing for buildings...i work in piping...we send them out to the contractor...the contractor then takes those drawings and build from them...well conditions in the field may change or something may happen and they'll have to put it in a different way...well after the building is built we get drawings from them showing "as-built" condiotions...well then we have to change our drawings to match and then send them to the owner

well went and bought shoes for the kids from Foot Action yesterday...couldn't find any shoes for my son so he lucked out this time

got my daughters:
1 pair of pink Pumas
1 pair of blue Pumas
1 pair of Adida sandels
1 pair of white Polo shoes
and 1 pair of some other pink suede shoes

all for the grand total of $27...they were having an 85% off sale for shoes and 70% off clothing...ofcourse they had no shoes to fit me

00accord44

I loved that movie. It was one of the first movies I watch on vhs; we had betamax for a long time before that. After all these years, I still don't understand why vhs beat out betamax. Betamax had longer tapes, so you could tape 2-3 movies on 1 tape, and the picture quality was way better too. My parents bought the first model betamax (betavision), when it first came out. The thing still works, but we haven't used it in years so it's sitting the the dumpster infront of my house right now. Oh the memories...

I saw Transformers in the theatre... prior to that was 300. I've got the original special edition Transformers movie that came out on DVD... it's pretty long. I like the original animated film better. It had background artwork that is so intricately detailed and is only filmed for brief seconds at a time. There must be thousands of art stills from that film. When the credits roll you see a ton of Japanese names under artists/animators.

Wheel studs aren't really that difficult if you have a lathe/grinder to notch the end. My friend came down to SC from NJ when he had his 6th gen coupe and he had a broken wheel stud on a front wheel. Well, I was putting my rear caliper back together and by the time I figured that out he had replaced one stud, broke another one, went back to the auto parts store and bought another stud for 3 bux and replaced that one... haha.

i've never replaced wheel studs before so i'm waiting till i have a whole day to do it.

Wheel studs are press fit. Take a decent size hammer, square your aim, and hit that son of a bitch hard and they pop right out the back. To reinstall, use a lug nut and a spacer and tighten until the stud is flush in the back of the hub.

Takes 5 minutes.
