Dear Buick,
Why must I remove the entire rear light assembly from the trunk lid, just to replace the license plate light bulbs? My superior Honda Civic, that is only 3 years OLDER, has these things that hold the clear plastic cover on, for easy access to the bulbs...they're called screws. I know you know what they are, because they hold the rear light assembly to your f'ing trunk lid.

P.S. - Thank you though, for making alternator replacement so easy :D

I can see what you're saying, but I'm not a normal person. When I blow chunks, I never feel better after, I always feel worse. So if the scenario was me violently vomiting for an hour straight, but feeling fine afterwards, or going shopping; I would choose puking. :D

Oh the adventure I had this weekend. I went out to Raleigh to pick up some LS Meshies and on my way back, just outside of Durham, BAM! clunk clunk clunk....engine still sounds fine but smoke going like crazy. I pull over, look under and oil is streaming out from around the shift linkage. Car was still able to move so I preceded to the nearest exit and hit Adrian up to see if he knows anyone in the area with a transmission for sale. No luck, could find tools but no trans and I'm still 2 1/2 hrs away from home. Screw it! It still moves, as long as there is no slack its quiet, a little slack, a little clanking from the differential. I managed to make it another 70 miles and hit traffic and stop...for good. Now I'm sitting on an interstate unable to move because the axle is completely locked up. Call 911(first time ever) and they send a roadside person out who shoves me off the road. 2 hrs later wrecker finally shows up, another hr and I'm finally home.

I picked up a new transmission Saturday, swapped it out today, still have to finish up on it. My dumbass bent the stabilizer bar on the linkage so I have to try to source a new one or try to bend it back, either way I was tired of messing with it cause the rear mount was a pain in the ass. Difficult to do a swap with no hoist and 1 jack.

Anyways, here is the pics from the aftermath. I will eventually take it apart just to see the carnage cause I know it its FUBAR.

BTW, this happened because of neglect, I am aware of my laziness. And I am also aware I am a very abusive Civic owner. As I told Amy, I'm like that coach that slaps you on the ass and tells you to walk it off when you try to come out of the game with a broken leg.

I'm impressed it didn't just lock up on you at speed on the freeway, that would have been really, really bad.

I was kind of expecting that, but with the gears moving they didn't have time to weld themself together. But once stopped, took only a second to happen.

my brother drove all the way to texas and was 70 miles from wilmington on saturday when i believe his fuel pump died. towed him to my moms today. now just need to get it fixed so he can get back home

I've never seen a brake line fail simply from age and corrosion.
All of our cars have to get a 6 monthly warrant of fitness where such things get checked.

Yeah she got it from some lady my mom knows. Good engine cause it was a camry but apparently everything else was to shit. This lady couldn't have been taking care of this car at all since 94. Luckily it gave out as she was trying to back out of her parking spot at home. No brakes, at all.

I got the replacement in finally, which has the infamous 3rd gear grind/pop out. It will take some getting use to having to hold it in until it catches, but she moves again. I tore apart the old trans real quick, really only took maybe 10 mins to get it apart. I think the gears survived, couldn't see any damage to them. The pin in the spider gears was the culprit of everything. Differential is toast along with the case. If this 3rd gear pisses me off enough, I may just swap some gears out.

Got a PS3 for christmas this year. Just went to BestBuy to see if they had any cheap games (marked down, Greatest Hits, or used games). I hit a gold mine of sorts. Apparently they have a sale (ends today unfortunately) of buy 2 used games, get 2 used games for free. I didn't have enough $ on me to get what I really wanted (The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection for $35 used), but I ended up with some alright games. Assassins Creed (I already got the 2nd one), UFC 2009, Resistance: Fall of Man, and SOCOM Confrontation. Not bad for 2+ year old used games, getting 4 of them for $21 and some change. Have to start adding to my collection somehow anyways. :)
