I cut my thumb a few days ago...the same damn thumb I sliced open a month or so ago. After having bandaid on it for the past few days, I came to a very unfortunate conclusion. When I thought my thumb was infected from the last injury, I don't think it actually was. I think I had a bad reaction to the bandaids... AKA, I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to latex. It kind of makes sense now. The original irritation problem with my hand started the day I had a bandaid on, as well as a latex glove, because I was working on a dirty ass car. Just my luck.

So I finally burned through the last of the 14g I got near the beginning of the month. Its by far the longest that amount has lasted for me. Now I think I'm going to take a break for a while. I figure if I can make it until May I could have my tolerance low enough to have a half last even longer..... but that probably means I'll be drinking alot more

My tollerance was so high that I literally didn't get anything out of it, and I've been averaging between a quarter and half a week, which amounted to $500isha month... down the drain... for the last year and half or so. :( I could have had an s2000 instead. The car acts like its choking when its rainy and is herky jerky under low throttle, both I know are due to the MAF. So today I decide to finally take care of it only to find out that the hole where the screw should go is filled in and completely unuseable. How the fuck is it that I managed to buy the defect from the Injen factory? Even if I bitch to them and get a new one I still have to take the whole goddamn thing out. Motherfuck

Which brings up my next rant: WTF is with Discovery and History dishing off these fake reality shows as real lately? Moonshiners and Amish Mafia spring to mind, but there are several- that are portrayed to be real, but are completely fake. There was one called Jungle Gold I think it was- I'm a huge fan of Gold Rush: Alaska, and this was one of the following shows riding off its glory, I seen them pull "nuggets" out of the ground, which as a goldsmith I instantly recognized was not a gold nugget, it was processed gold- gold that has been separated out with the mercury extraction process, very recognizable as not something that you find in the ground by anyone in the industry. These used to be respectable networks, now they're passing off this shit?

There was a decision, I think about 5 years ago, where networks decided that "reality" is anything that has people who aren't trained actors. The formerly respectable and semi-educational networks have finally given in to the trend. I still like the shows about aliens and shit on Discovery but its just to fuel my own theories, not to be informed.

This is some of what I've been chugging on lately (being 6 weeks off the pot):

First there's the McKenzie's Hard Cider, that's made semi-locally (near Buffalo, NY). I'm not one to enjoy hard ciders, but this shit is great. It tastes like a carbonated cider; you can't even taste the alcohol (5% ABV). They have other variations like Black Cherry (wasn't too bad), & Green Apple (that I simply won't try), but the original's the best so far.

Next is the Arrogant Bastard Ale, that a friend bought for me, for helping him work on a car. 7.2 ABV, very hoppy. Almost too hoppy for my taste, but the other grains are sweet enough for even me to enjoy. Shit is kind of expensive at $5 or so for a 1 Pint bottle.

Next is the Wailing Wench (8% ABV) from the local brewery (Syracuse, NY) called Middle Ages. Again, it's very hoppy, with a very citrus/grapefruit taste to it; good stuff. But also pretty expensive as well. My friend apparently bought be 2 bottles of each, reading a wrongly posted sign at a local gas station, thinking they were $1.99 each. Ended up being a little over $20, but he bought them anyways.

Next is the Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. It was good, but for the price, and only getting a 4-pack for that price, it was worth drinking but won't purchase again. Their 60 Minute IPA is probably the best beer I've ever tried. Which leads me to...

Next is the 2XIPA, made in the SW part of the State. Honestly it tastes like a Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA clone. A little more "herby" in it's initial flavor, but it's $2 cheaper than 60 Min IPA.

Next is the Genesee Brewing Company's Bock Beer, from Rochester, NY. When I'm looking for cheap beer, I look for the Genesee product line (Regular, Ice, Cream, or Dog Bite [8% ABV] tall cans). The Bock Beer is probably the best tasting of them all, which isn't saying much. But it's seasonal, and only $1.50 more (12-pack) than $5.99 BEaST Ice.

Last, but certainly not least... a fairly small bottle of Captain Morgan 100 proof Spiced Rum. What can I say, I usually buy cheap shit beer, so I need something to help out a little.

I saw a .gif of the taping of the box and cutting with a machete a few weeks ago, had no idea what it was for. Now I know.

But I have a serious question. Maybe this is pathetic, and I quite possibly haven't reach puberty yet, but... do people actually go through a new razor once a month??? I use cheap ass Bic disposable razors, and replace mine every 2.5-3 months. I suppose it's possible. I let my shit grow until I start looking like a homeless man, so I guess using it every day would cut that time down a lot. But really, razor a month? If that's reality, I'm happy with my inefficient ability to grow facial hair, and cheap shitty razors that are used until I start pulling hair out rather than cutting.

I've had the Arrogant Bastard before... pretty sure I liked it. Beer Yoda at my job has told me about the 90 min IPA but I haven't tried it.

Nice selection, I've never seen that Genesee before, I see the regular tall boys in the green can all the time here- not bad at all for the price. I think Arrogant bastard is overrated, gets most of its sales from its name I think- however Stone brewery that makes it does make some very nice brews. Southern Tier makes a Creme Brulee beer that is fucking spectacular.


As far as razors, I go through a fresh Gillette Fusion Pro Glide once a week, I get about three shaves before they start pulling- very thick facial hair... which is funny because the hair on my head is migrating to the rest of my body. A 5 pack of those blades runs about 18 bucks, so thats roughly what I spend a month.
