I remember right before the mass exodus from here. Most mods (not so much in the 4th gen section it appears) disappeared over time. Spam everywhere, the same questions asked day after day, no organization, useful info being pushed further down pages. So after bitching, we finally got some new mods to take some sections over. 1-2 months later, they ALL either bolted out of here completely, or sold their Hondas and forgot about the H/A sections. Lost many great members over that; from them leaving or getting banned because they were so pissed :D

Its been 10 years on a site that had sense to ban TSC (for what had to be at least 2 years) and then had the foolish optimism to let him back... thought lessons would have been learned when I was banished all those times and kept sneaking back over the border.

i think for now on i will have to purchase my goods from vendors rather than from individuals on website. i preach this because it is soooooooooooooo very annoying to have a picture posted of my car and the individual i bought the part(s) from come and post "bump for my old car", "bump for my buddies old car", and the latest "Haha my old turbo mani....literally." The part in question i bought from the individual new b/c he decided not to use it, and has since been riding my curtails whenever someone gives me "props" on my car...and i've had this part for almost 3 years.

You're talking about on Honda-Tech aren't you? Every build thread over there has the same type of thing. Hell, they do it even if it's not their old car, or not their friend's old car, or not their old part (those are some of the most hilarious). Sounds like you might have to set some boundaries with that person; in form of an assertive PM, or outright calling them out. That, or buy the same part elsewhere, and either sell the part to be done with the cursed thing, or to throw it through this person's windshield. :biggrin:

Anyone seen this crazy new Verizon FiOS "Quantum"? Advertised 300Mbps download/65Mbps upload, all at the cost of roughly $200 per month.

How could an average person ever even use internet that fast? They'd have to have the most up-to-date computer(s) and router on the market (I'm assuming Verizon would supply the router), if those would even be able to take full advantage of the speed.

My parents have FiOS internet, phone, and TV (too many god damn channels to ever watch), with a 30Mbps download/upload, and pay under $200 a month for all 3. 30Mps is insanely fast for internet for most people. I've downloaded 5GB files in 20 minutes. That's mind blowing for someone who grew up with a 22.*something Bps (maybe bps) modem on an old Atari computer.

Basically what I'm asking is, is anyone's mind freaking blown by this???

Ahhh the old 14.4 Dial-up, I remember it well. Single tracks (illegaly) downloaded would take a strong 20 minutes minimum and entire albums were an afternoon's work of searching/downloading/burning to disc.

Sadly, I am a marginally-functional tech dinosaur and know nothing of these new speeds and the technology used to achieve them. However, I am well aware of the tactic of overpromised and undersold whereby Verizon and the rest can/will promise the ability of insane speeds which are more for shock and awe than to attract anybody who just so happens to be building a Death Star and must download terabytes of data every minute to keep up with Lord Vader's commands.

I use the mobile hotspot from my phone (verizon 4G), download speeds between 3-5meg, late at night and stuff when the network is less congested I get upwards of 20meg, but even 3meg gets most stuff done.

btw, I was grandfathered in on my unlimited data plan though verizon, all the data I want for 30 bucks a month, suck on that :D

Went to my final court date, for the driving with a suspended registration ticket, today. My lawyer got it reduced to a no points non-moving violation. The violation was "Stopping on Pavement" lol Even the judge thought it was funny. $75 fine sure wins over a $50-150 and up to 30 days in jail misdemeanor.

There was a badass green NS-X in the parking lot too. I would have checked it out, but my lawyer drove me to court, and I didn't want to waste any more of his time. And of course I didn't bring my phone (camera), because I didn't want to deal with more crap to pull out of my pockets while going through the metal detector :(

I didn't see him until after and ended up merging right in front of him with no issues. The state of North Carolina has no clue how to merge, everyone stops when the merge lane first opens up and tries to force their way into traffic. That is when I pass on the shoulder, use the on ramp the way it was meant to be used and merge seamlessly into traffic without causing traffic to stop and let me in. My drive home could easily take 1.5 hrs to drive home if I stayed behind all the idiots. Instead I take off ramps just to go straight thru to the on ramp back on the interstate and my drive is between 30-40 mins.

ins wants to basically offer me $1700 or $1300 if i keep the car. nope. they couldn't find a comparable. i found a couple in portland and a few in the bay....all $2500+

if i had just a civic it would be more cut & dry. the fact is i can't just go get another manual r/t awd unless i drive 300+ mi and spend $2500+....their excuse of "we cant find comparable" is a lame loop hole. It's not like I had a new CR-V and I'm asking for $15,000. I wasn't driving reckless or caused the accident in any way. I was sitting at a red light minding my own business. They're lucky I'm not demanding compensation to drive to get another car & rental to do so :flippa:

They originally offered me $500/$400 w/ me keeping it. Because it was gutted and none of the swap stuff made a different to them. I had to search the net for other gutted hondas to get them up to $1200 w/ me keeping the car. Ofcourse mine isn't a rare car and I was happy with what I ended up with, just wasn't happy with having to fight for it.
