I think I'm dying. I started getting sick yesterday morning, my nose was stuffed and my throat was killing me. So last night I went to sleep at 2:30am, woke up at 3:30am, woke up at 5:30am, and then woke up at 7:15am. I've been awake ever since, and for the past 2 hours I've been in the bathroom. Even after taking a small sip of water, I have to sit on the floor in the bathroom (praying to the porceline god) until my stomach calms enough for me to go in my room. Worst of all I've started puking up blood. I'm just so freaking exhausted and would like nothing more than to go to sleep for the rest of the day. I'm just praying that it's not the strep that's going around, the doctor would get a nice surprise if he gives me a throat culture. I honestly would rather be dead than to feel like this right now.

Well I originally didn't want to go the the doctor/hospital, because I don't trust them for sh*t. Too many negative experiences (like being sick for over a year and my doctor not being able to figure out that it was just stress!). But I finally broke down and went to the doc last night. It was actually a RN because of such short notice. But she seemed to think it was allergies, so she gave me some Alegra. Surprisingly I felt better last night a few hours after taking it, and I feel quite a bit better today. But I'm taking this sickness as time to stop smoking. So that's the one good thing to come out of this.

found this to be quite funny....
found this on another board:
Let's start at the beginning. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are the first Jedi introduced in the saga. Both are white males, but Qui-Gon dies at the hands of Darth Maul, who, with his black and red tattoos, obviously represents the anger of the oppressed blacks and Native Americans.
Anakin Skywalker is brought in first as a whiney, annoying little kid - an obvious mocking of white American youth - and shows up in Episode II as an arrogant and whiney young adult. At one point in the movie, he even goes so far as to wipe out an entire camp of Tusken Raiders, representative of the whites who stole America from the natives.
Also, there is not one single white person on the Jedi council. In fact, the two people running the show are Yoda, an elderly cinematic shilling to the idea that the older generations are smarter and more capable than the younger, and Mace Windu, a black man. In fact, so important was Darth Shaft that he was given the only purple lightsaber in the galaxy. Why don't any of the white Jedi get a unique color?
While we're at it, let's take a closer look at lightsabers. The blades themselves are a core of white light surrounded by color. As if to say that, while white people may be in power, we are surrounded, and it's only a matter of time before we are usurped by people of color.
As the saga progresses, we meet Luke Skywalker, whiney offspring of Anakin. This stereotypical cracker farmboy is not only every bit as obnoxious as his father, but also spends the first two movies lusting after his sister while trying to destroy the Empire. This is basically saying that all white people are dumb, incestuous rednecks, hell-bent on power.
The white women of Star Wars aren't treated any better. Padme is shown to be a stoic little ***** in Episode I. In Episode II, she gives herself to Anakin with very little resistance. Combine this with Leia's pseudo-incestuous inability to settle on Luke or Han for two movies, and white women are painted as dirty little sluts who will give it up to anyone and everyone.
Darth Vader - the blackest man in the galaxy - bossing around stormtroopers, who are the biggest collection of white folks the world has ever known. Is this meant to promote the idea of blacks enslaving whites? I had hoped that both races had learned from the Civil War that slavery is wrong. The residual anger over white oppression of blacks has gone too far.
If you pay attention, you'll also notice that the whole of the Empire is comprised of white men. The lesson? White men are evil, and only want money, power, and land (or planetary systems, as the case may be). Is this what we should be teaching our children?
As the saga progresses, we learn that Obi-Wan failed as a teacher, which is what led Anakin to the Dark Side. This is just another example of how whites are always portrayed in film as inadequate and inept.
And Anakin Skywalker's journey is the most disappointing aspect of the Star Wars mythology. When he is young, weak, and conflicted, he is a white male, but once he becomes powerful and strong, he also becomes the picture of blackness, complete with the deep, black, bassy voice of James Earl Jones. Yet as soon as his whiney kid forces Vader to take out Emperor Palpatine (another example of how the only white men with any power in the saga are old white men), Vader's visage is removed, bringing him back to the "white" side where he's too weak to even breathe without the aide of his blackness.

That's pretty good. I'm confused though... so white is bad? But black is worse? WTF?
Storm Troopers are all white, but I'm willing to bet that they're all or for the most part clones which seemed pretty ethnic from what I've seen. But there is like 18 years or whatever between episodes 3 and 4 and the rate at which clones aged they'd all be geriatrics if they were actually the storm troopers.
It's just a damn story...

danica patrick was the first woman in history to lead a lap in indy 500. she darn near won the thing she was in 1st and had to ease up in the last few laps due to fuel. she was running at 70% fuel and got passed on the 2nd to last lap by a guy running 100%. they were literally nose to nose when they crossed the line, 2 laps to go and a caution happened. she ended up in 4th which wasn't bad for a rooke.
apparently only 3 rookies have won since 1930.

saying male drivers are better than women is as stupid as saying whites drive better than asians.

You should move to Syracuse NY and see for yourself. Now I'm not saying all women drivers are bad, but the majority (that I've seen or been in the car with) are really bad. It usually has to do with them talking to their friend in the car, talking on cell phones (illegal in NY state), or trying to put makeup on while driving. Even my mom agrees that more women are bad drivers than men, but she's a good driver most of the time (where my dad is not almost ever). 9 our of 10 times that I've been cut off, it's been from a woman driver not even looking in their mirrors, just my personal experience. I think that out of the bad drivers; men drive more agressively, and women pay less attention. And it's also why the whole "statistic" of teenage men having higher insurance rates because of more accidents, has changed drastically (told to me by the dmv employee who taught the 5 hour test I took years ago).

'nuff said, except maybe to mention that young males are statisticly more likely to be involved in an accident than females.
Saying that young men are more prone to accidents tham women is a generalization if I ever saw one :grinyes:. And the fact that's it's not true anymore. Maybe 10 years ago it was true, but things have changed. Out of all the males and females I know (or have known), more of those females have been in accidents (caused by them) than males; and I know far more males than females. On my local news reports and newspapers, there are far more women who have been the cause off accidents than men. Maybe it's just in my area (central NY), but it certainly dissolves any validity of any "statistics" stating more young men are in accidents than women. And statistics are generalizations. Think about all the "statistics" about things like high schooler drug use. Different areas of the country will have different percentages, and then there are factors like people not being truthful. I know when I was in high school and I took one of those surveys about drug use, I lied. Statistics only give very rough info, and should be taken as such. And what about the "statistic" that more men have their license than women? That would bring up the percentage for men being in accidents more than women.
Generalisations are bullshit - give it up guys.
I think that last word should be guy, man, or dude (singular); because I made no generalization. I backed up my comments with personal information and experience (ie keeping the conversation in a respectful and intelligent manner). As anyone can see I have used phrases like "not all" and "for the most part" (pertaining to my own personal experience). Never did I say or in any way mean to say that all women are bad drivers, because clearly that'd be a line of BS. Maybe I just live in an area with more women who don't pay attention while driving than other areas of the world.

I couldn't be fucked arguing on the net - I have better things to do. There's a good reason I couldn't be bothered posting here much anymore - too many keyboard warriors looking for an argument.
Hi Ami, good to see you again :) Not to mention all the other old-timers (where the hell is Habib?). Nice to see the forums haven't changed much, I think they hit saturation point a long time back in terms of quality posts.
Anyway - I moved to Albury-Wodonga (border of New South Wales and Victoria), not fussed on it at all. Am looking to move back to Sydney some time later on, I miss the beaches and the city. Busted up with my then fiancee, but have met a lovely new lady from Melbourne - so things are all up in the air at the moment. It's been nice having the year off work though. The SiR is still going strong, almost 300,000 kms on it now - original motor and all. I've had it for almost 5 1/2 years - time sure as hell is flying past - it doesn't seem that long ago that hostboard was around - or PH for that matter :)
Cheers

I wasn't starting an argument, I was trying to have discussion because I was told I was a sexist and that I was wrong in my opinion. If you're too opinionated to try and understand the other side of things then you shouldn't join a discussion in the first place. I think we need less people around here who are like you; the ones who make comments and can't handle the response in an intelligent manner.

Melbourne is nice - Sydney is better, but my (Melbourne) GF and I are thinking of making the big move up the coast to Sydney together after she finishes her TAFE course.
Hmmm... wish I knew where my Whaaambulance pic was - I haven't posted it in ages :evillol:
BTW Silentchamber - good to see you're as big a post whore as ever - and I mean that in a non-sexist way, free of statistics - just in case more tears are shed by the intellectual elite around here
Ok, so forums + laptop at work = non-productivity ;)

Nah, not whoring it up as much as I used to, just started venturing past this thread within the last week or so. That makes me a re-accuring ex-whore.
By the way, what is TAFE?
I have something similar I think, but we spell it taffy ;)

Yeah, a University education will only get you a good job making good money. But who wants that? BTW, it took me forever to find a job like that after I graduated... LOL!
Speaking of Aussieland, I watched part of the geriatric rock Eagles Farewell I show on NBC the other night and noticed all the women in the audience were hot (except for the ugly ones as TSC mentioned). Is that why they played over there and not here in the USA? Note to self: Try to get transferred to Australia...

I can't hear too good so I laugh at the way everybody talks. I'm also one of those types of people that turns the volume up to listen to English people speaking.
Today, makes two times I've gotten called at my office by mistake from somebody trying to call the Mental Health Clinic.
