I have yet to put in over $20 in my crx (maybe if I used premium). I put $30 for 14 gallons in wife's Passat turbo... a/c is awesome but sucks gas like a hoover.

I wish you lived closer. My friend is so lazy he won't even call me back to tell me he doesn't want to help me weld my roof on. I wasn't going to bother anyway cuz it was hot. If we don't get this shit at least started (it can't take that long), I'm going to take my car to a shop...

The passenger side roof line has been shaved, no warpage. Fixing to stat on drivers side in a bit.

My friend said that his dad's mig welder would cut right through the roof. Can I get a heat adjuster to adapt to it? He wants to braze the seems for a nice clean finish... using 22g steel. I'm gonna get it done this weekend.

if he says it will cut thru the roof, then he prolly doesnt know what hes talking about, all the mig welders i've seen have an adjustable heat setting on them, hell, i'd say bring it here and i'd do it for u lol

I'm going to buy a welder/brazer at Lowes for $50... should do a nice job. I noticed somebody who previously owned the car, probably the same person who put that color to it, bondoed up the rear quarter already so I may use some left over sheet metal to braze to it. But I'm NOT going for that homemade look that was posted a while back where the crx looked like a 4wd focus with 12" wheel gaps...

You cant braze the roof, it wont work. Some migs wont go low enough to weld sheet metal, and DO NOT take it to derek, he heat warped the fuck out of his door.

Thats why I'm going to europe soon, amung other reasons.

Bottom line - its going to have to be MIGed, by someone who knows what they are doing, no short cuts around it.

Fuck it... we're going to MIG it then. My friend worked at Ryobi for 2 years repairing tools and welding machinery so I'm sure he knows what he's doing. If the roof fucks up, I'll either lay carbon fiber over it or sell the goddamn thing. I'm tired of this shit...

Well, the front of it is messed up. The motor itself and the bottom of the assembly is in good shape. The top part and the sliders is a different story. It may still work and I may end up needing it. If not, I'll get rid of it...

Good people die everyday. Does that mean that no one can ever make a joke about death for fearing that they will offend someone? I'm not trying to be a jerk or insensitive, but you see my point?
