Hey Jett, got anything done to your tacoma yet? I went and looked at an 85 chevy single cab short bed other night, $400, strait body, no rust. Has no motor. Seriously thinking of buying it to bag and body drop. Those model chevys are getting expensive, nice ones run around $4000.

today i went skateboarding with my friend in the halfpipe in the woods in this nearby public park. i park my car in the parking lot like everyone else. the park goes alongside one of the holes of this one golf course, however. after skating for about an hour i come back to my car to find two big dents on the roof of my car....and the two cars that were next to me had a few dents on top of their roofs too. damn, this sucks

Thats clean, It needs a flush mount rollpan though. Think it was Truckin that did an artical on how to make them flush with the tailgate a few years ago, not like it would be hard to figure out anyway. If the guy still has it when I get the money I'm going to buy it.

golfers suck balls... that sux dude... I went skating yesterday for the first time in like 3 months. I didn't do too bad either for a 30 year old. Quitting smoking 2 months ago has definitely made a difference. And I faced my demon of the downhill and flew passed hot bitches at about 30mph... I was pretty scared but after doing it I've been jacked up ever since.

I'm accually sitting in my shop right now with some 4" blank foam pieces fixing to carve a set out. What do yall think a set of lips and side skirts should sell for? I'm thinking $150 plus shipping for a set, individually $50 for each lip and $$85 for a set of side skirts.

blue insulating styrofoam, get it at lowes for about $10 a sheet. Fiberglass melts it though, and I'm not going to tell you how to stop that, its because I'm an ass.

silent chamber, how would u make the foam hold a shape tho? like if u wanted to make a veilside sideskirt with the hole in it? just superglue it?

I use a water based coating that I mix up at my shop. Its similer to elmers glue. saran wrap or foil either one dont work that well, masking tape works alot better than either.

and how many layers do u usually do before u take it off the mould? i really wanna try this now, i'm really interested :D

I carve the shape of the part out of foam, coat it so it doesnt melt, laminate it with fiberglass then remove the foam. Then I can either finish the fiberglass piece to be used as is or I can turn it into a mold so I can replicate it over and over without using foam again.

Hilkus- yeah fiberglass. If I do get this up and running I will offer carbon fiber, carbon hybrid in black/red black/blue and black/yellow, kevlar, aluminum fiberglass (aka Silver Carbon), and fiberglass. Those are in order form most expensive to cheepest. Carbon will run about twice as much as fiberglass, kevlar about 50% more than fiberglass, as well as the hybrids.

what is kevlar, i thought it was like a special form of carbon fiber or something.

kevlar is what they make bullet proof vests out of. Its very abrasion resistant, yellow in color.

ohh ok. So its basically just strong as *hit. Is it light?

not quiet as strong and light as carbon, but its more abrasion resistant. Works good for lips that scrape the ground, it wont mess them up much at all.
