I never said it to be offensive or to go on an assault I was merely making a refrence (I love how people do anything for a count jump)

And also sorry for your loss as well....

Good people die everyday. Does that mean that no one can ever make a joke about death for fearing that they will offend someone? I'm not trying to be a jerk or insensitive, but you see my point? Everyone here pretty much gets along really well and rip into eachother now and then; joking or not. I mean my great uncle died last weekend, and I was very close to him growing up; but I'm not going to let the joke/comment bother me because it wasn't said to be offensive. Not that I'm trying to speak for LadyNRedSi, I'm just saying.

That's like exactly what I was thinking!... crap, my best friend got hit on his motor cycle by a drunk driver 3 years ago. It's changed my life profoundly but I still make jokes like that pretty much everyday.

The point is that there shouldn't have even been a reference made. You came off sounding like you were highly offended, and clearly I'm not the only one who thought so. I didn't think you were being offensive or "on an assault". I was just saying you shouldn't be offended or otherwise bothered by the comment made, there's no reason to be because it was just a joke and directed towards someone who is still with us.

As for the post count comment...:bs: Every so often (when I'm REALLY bored) I go back and delete some of my pointless posts. I've deleted literally 300+ posts, and most were in this long thread. Wow, when my post count goes up I get a star, yippy  I'm not in grade school anymore, stars don't do anything for me. I don't grow a hard-on everytime I get a new star under my username :boink:.

Thank you for that last comment though.

Your right so why did you join in? Please.... Man just shut up. Im not going to get all pissy especially over one little comment if you know what a reference is assume you know common grammar then you would know it wasn't an attack at all. I wouldn't even joke about that after what happen to hyps187  I'd assume you guys know him.

first off i only knew him from bumping shoulders in the mod's forum. he never came into this forum and i never went into his. i doubt anybody within in this forum knew him. af is a HUGE place, not everybody knows everybody.

second, take a look around and read TSC's sig. picture. this is about TSC, not you.

third, my best friend broke his spine...survived a horrible year of complications before he died on thanksgiving day. oh yea...when i was 11 my mother's boyfirend shot her in the head 2 days before christmas, she died instantly. maybe you ought to know somebody's background before you decide to criticize and throw  's around. you may feel bad for your friend however...

Is that 5 hours one way or total? Why would you drive 5 hours each day to work? I don't know what the cost of living is where you are, but if you're not making at least $20/hr, you should probably rethink it...

amy@af
08-09-2005, 11:53 AM

I drive 32 miles to work then 32 back everyday..and most people think that's stupid. What you drive is insanity..I hope your car is reliable.

TheSilentChamber
08-09-2005, 07:14 PM
Thats five hours total, I leave my house at 4:15am, meet up with a buddy 30 minutes from here, we pick up a two other people there, then drive to nashville arkansas, arrive aprox 6:45, work a 10 hour shift- leave at 5:30 Then I usually make it home around 8. I'm only driving my car about 70 miles a day, we take my friends truck from there. Its contract work, were only going to be there another few weeks, then who knows where. We get $10 cash every day just for showing up (kinda like gas money) We average three round trips in his truck per $30 worth of gas, devided four ways so its not bad. Cost of living here is low, and I'm brining home a little over $1000 a week after taxes. We got out an hour early today because it started storming, were taking down a metal warehouse... kinda dont like holding onto a steel beam while its lightening. Next week were going to be drilling about a mile of concrete and installing achors, so that should be pretty easy. After that we got to put this warehouse back together a few blocks down the road (I dont understand either...). After that... not sure- hopefully a few weeks off before the next job.

So thats what I'm up to... oh yeah - in a few weeks I'm buying a jetta vr6 (probably 96 model). Need something to drive while bending all the tubing for the civic.

jestersrain
08-09-2005, 09:17 PM
lol that suck i dont use any gas getting to work i live right next to the building so a full tank off gas usually gives me 2 weeks of driving. if i dont go crazy and race all over the place when i do get to drive but its cool cuz when ever i need to park my cqar for a wile im not in need of a ride

turtlecrxsi

I drive 80 miles total to and from work everyday. It's getting old fast. But the drive is a 50mph back road, a highway through a college town (which traffic will pick back up soon there) which becomes a freeway, to another 10 mile long 55mph backroad to another back road that goes a few miles passed construction and elementary school and then 15 miles up the freeway. I love the freeway but the rest sucks. I like having the ability to pass whenever necessary. Needless to say, I'm impatient...

dfarres
08-10-2005, 11:57 AM
i drive 55 miles one way and it takes me 1hr 10min... not bad considering 90% of it is winding roads... I pass over a mountain that goes from 1000ft elevation to 2300ft and down to 100ft in a 8 mile span.

I used to commute to SF and it was only 47 miles but most the time it took me over 2hrs to get there.

TheSilentChamber

Yeah, I kinda like my sigs also- they make me stand out. But someone is allways ready to jump out and play the male shovinist (probably not the right spelling.. but I'm not going to bother looking it up) card every time they see a semi nude woman in my sig. These are the same people that dont have a problem with a woman in a bikini stretched out on the hood of a car though.

jcsaleen
08-10-2005, 09:56 PM
Thats Bs...

You should tell them I consider women art do you have a problem with that?

Btw the black trim around the sig makes it look 10x better doing that with my next sig but right now its a W.I.P.

I did some more work on my roof this weekend. I don't find it necessary to post in the main 88-91 Civic/CRX forum page anymore though. I'm pretty happy with the sanding so far. I may use a belt sander to finish it up in time. I'm pleased with Krylon rust proof primer. It's a little more expensive than DuPont but I like it.
