Why is it the Brit's say BHP is the power at the fly?? Like you'll read about a car with 160BHP, and 160HP at the fly?????

yeah well its Brake Horse Power, i.e Power at the flywheel, no one ever uses WHP here really, duno why ,

Brake = the final horsepower after the result of effort etc, ie at the END of the drivetrain, brake is your final reading, say you have (for examply only) a 400hp engine, and you have 200hp at the wheels, do we really care about the other 200hp lost? no. BHP is your final effort, so its the wheel horsepower. Only in Brit mags etc have I seen it called bhp when mentioning the flywheel, ie - engine horsepower.

SO its not engine horsepower, but post drive train, pre wheels, so the nice specs you have in the car catalogues, are not brake.

Anyone ever have a problem with driving an automatic car after driving a manual car for a long time?
I had to move my fathers van today so I could get out of the drive way, and for the life of me I couldn't even back it up and pull it in again. For some reason I was using my left foot on the brake, like I'd do with the clutch, and kept stopping and going like I was a first time driver. I mean I've been driving just my civic for almost a year now and have only driven an auto maybe twice in that time. I'm the only person that's had this happen to them? I feel like an idiot. And to make things worse on the way home I hit a squirrel who ran right in front of me, I feel so bad.

i am getting pissed off as every school day goes on. everyday i get to school and park my car in the student parking lot and then walk into my school. after the school day is over with i go into the student parking lot and i keep on finding my windshield wipers sticking straight up. some fool keeps on coming up to my car after i park it in the morning and they keep on lifting up my windshield wipers. this happened 4 days in a row so far. i think on monday when i go back to school i'm gonna set up my mini digital camera on my dash facing the windshield and i'm gonna record everything on film to see who the punk is that keeps on molesting my freakin winshield wipers.

orr.... you could set hook your windshield wiper up to a stun gun and wire it though a motion detector and zap um good.

TVR are over priced for what you get ???? how come a TVR cerbera costs approx 45-50k and yet it pisses on the dodge viper over the 1 mile sprint??? likewise with the vantage, escort cosworth, lotus esprit V8 as well ???

the old british cars like MG werent even high class cars but ones like the Jensen, aston etc were all high class and are known for the quality, i think germany has got to be the best country/car manufacturer over all though in fairness
