i raced an 03 si today on my way to work...

we started at 45 and i kept up with him until 75 and he pulled on me, so i let off
and i knew he was atleast kinda trying cause i could hear his intake over my engine and radio
he had an intake and a catback exhaust and lowered on 17's

well I just ordered myself a D15B SOHC VTEC engine... it should be at my door step by Wednesday afternoon.
Why the D15B? I don't really know... I'm curious about the engine in general, and figured the best way to get more info was to get it in my shop and get a good look at it.

Now to find a p28 ECU....

Yeah i think so mate. Its like "Oooooooooooh turbo!!!! I can race!" But I can race anyway. And hell, it'll just gimme more trouble. I think I'll buy the guys new D-series as its cheap and I need a new motor or a recondition on my current D16A8 (ZC)
But yeah, Id love a little unit or townhouse, buy some funky furniture and it will mean I can live off base. Im air force and live in the "barracks." And it'd mean my gf could stay with me when she comes down.

Well it realy depends... You can sleep in your car and have a realy fast car... Pluss you can go pick up your gf realy quick if you have a hankering for it.
When it all comes down to it in the end, You can live in your car, But you cant drive your house. (Unless your house is a mobile home)

I'm saving for a house with what extra money I have left over at the end of the month.
Besides... you never lose money on a house, but it's extremely hard to NOT lose money on a car... the moment you drive it off a car lot, it's a used car... the more money you throw at it to make it faster, the more it's devalued... whereas the more money you throw at a house, the more the value increases.

Its 3:15 am here, and some drunk dude just flipped his car outside my house. He bounced of a tree, totaled one of my friends cars, and then rolled his car into a phone pole.......cops had the street blocked off for about 45 minutes and me and a bunch of guys were out there talking to them....they said they arrested the same guy last week for DUI and last week he tried to fight them so they had to rough him up a little...this week he was either too wasted or too groggy from the crash cause he just said a lot of shit.....i thought the girl whose car he hit was gonna kick his ass cause when someone told her what happened she took off after him and the cops had to hold her back.....it was a 98ish dodge avenger she just got 3 weeks ago....sorry if this isnt real coherent but im tired as hell and have class in less then 5 hours :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

slave, i say go with the house. rent = paying somebody else's mortgage :nono: my house payment is 1/2 the money we were paying in rent. :screwy: we've built up close to $16,000 equity in the last 4 yrs. since we've been here the house value has already climbed a good $10-15,000. we're going to build a garage/shop next summer...with all those factors, we'll have a nice down payment for the next house.

i suppose i'm getting old. there was a time i would invest in my car over anything else. these days it's a little different. i'll invest my money into a car i'll resell before i'll do something like go out and paint my car. LMAO

yea i know, we just spend a silly amount on his b16 BUT... at least now i won't have to hear about a b in my ride :grinno: after his swap is complete i think i can finally say "Operation Rescue Hatch" is complete

As a quick rule of thumb - if the interest portion of your monthly mortgage is less then what you would pay to rent the same house - you're going to come out ahead.

Its not a hard and fast rule since, like most things, the devil is in the details, but it gives a good idea.

Thanks guys. Im going to fix up my cars front bar and side skirt, and then save like a mofo for a little house. I can get a lot of the interior stuff cheap as from my brother. (he does ads and sets and designs stores etc for various companies.) And I can paint, so thats easy enough.

the guy who bought hooptie still owed us $400 on it...which was no big deal. he works with jer and has been giving up cash on payday. anyway...he used to have a different car and was rear ended by a cop at a red light. i forgoet what kind of car he had but it was totalled. this was awhile back. he later got an 85 crx he sold for hooptie. so i guess he found out in the last couple of days that the city is going to settle with him for $3500. he is :jump3: he's going to pay us off and he started asking about dropping a b16 in. yeah for hooptie!
