I totally want an aeroforce gauge now... but I want a PCM too... ARGH!!!

go with the pcm, well worth the money over the gauge...

I was under the impression that the dashhawk would work w/ OBDII and CAN bus :dunno: mah bad .. Aeroforce it is!...

If you wait, a long time lol.. by the time I get my car ill be selling my gauge for cheap.... I take care of it, just removed it yesterday since I'm not driving my car... LCD screen was getting a little ghosted sitting in the sun so I took it out, still works tho (yea the LCD isnt heat/sun friendly at all)

ill be selling a few other things from my GA that I can replace with the stock part :naughty:

gleh. I'll prolly order a big batch of things from pfyc.com at the same time... ideas include:

1) Aeroforce Gauge
2) PCM
3) Heat shield thing
4) Angel Eyes
5) Sway bars
6) Rear strut bar if it's back
7) Gatorback belt
8) 180deg Tstat

That will be expensive though so I bet I'll probably remove some of those or order in two batches. Maybe the aeroforce gauge can tell me if anything is being retarded with my engine... I'm noticing the main accel problem is while in first gear (it's been that way for a while... seems to not accelerate uniformly and seems like it should be putting out more power than it is). We'll see :p

dont waste your time on the heat shield lol, I have it, it came with my RSM TB for free, its just for looks really, air is moving under the car anyways.... cheap performance tho, you should talk to ur guy about the bore out of your TB and upper/lower intakes... you'll feel a big difference...

I cant wait to get some money to throw around so I can do my mini stageI upgrade, new cam w/ rods, headers and p&p intake... then I think ill be done w/ upgrading my car

Yessir, its a fun car... we all know that, but mines in that point of where everything is needing to be replaced :banghead:

I havent left my house for almost a month now, no job, no money... no money to fix car, to get to job to make more money :disappoin see how that works? lol

the temp fix is someone helpin me out w/ money and buying parts and me installing the injectors myself. been looking over the haynes book I got, doesnt look hard, just very detailed (to do it the correct way, thats how I do things lol)

after I'm done w/ stageI upgrade, ill prob be saving for the g6 GXP, since it's based off the GA, just new modern look and everything corrected about the GA with new technology :popcorn:

GXP would be faster then a GTP. GTP is not supercharged... I wish but it's not. the GXP... Well that's still in the works. The last I had heard the GXP was using a different engine that put out the 270 horses.. but was not supercharged. I believe it was going to be using a new 3.6l V6 engine... and the gtp would have the option for that engine and come standard with teh 3.9L ( which is what i have)


Hey Gir: I feel ya for the repairs.... that's why i decided on the G6. My G/a needed way too many repairs which were going to probably all happen at once.

Oh yeah all you need then is a cam regrind, P&P heads and manifolds and an eaton M90 woooooo!!!

I think I'm gonna go test driving cars soon... with an "intent to buy" but not really lol :p I want to drive a decently fast car in comparison to my car for a change (or a RWD car because I've never really driven one before), so maybe I will go test drive a mustang GT or something :p

The dashawk does the 0-60 times, and 1/4mile times. I was playing with the parameters. There's a lot of things I'm not sure what they are at the moment... but it's REALLY COOL to watch the numbers go up and down. I think i found the temp at the Cat?!!! It said something like CatSTB1 and it said degrees... I'm just having problems mounting it or should i say finding a place to mount it.

Hey Vipey, Rear wheel drive cars are fun when you can break them loose... but some dealers won't like that during a test drive. I however would test drive a GTO if i were you... forget the mustang. Mustangs are a dime a dozen. Another tip... so you dont get phone calls afterward from the dealer give them a fake cell phone number... it works like a charm evrytime! muahahahahah :evillol:

I tried test driving a GTO but two problems...

1) I can't drive stick very well
2) I went to a dealer where they know my parents exceedingly well (we did work with them rescuing greyhounds for like 5-10 years), and the salesman there also knows us really well... and when I hinted we wanted to drive he was like ahahahah NO. Obviously he knows me a little too well :p

So yeah, I'll have to sneak someplace else. I'm going to be learning stick better on my workout buddy's Saturn, so I wont stall all the time. I never got a lot of practice with stick so I suck and stall like a mofo :(

Is there any way to remove sprayed on tint? I want to either A) remove the tint from my tails or B) get those high-intensity bulbs you guys were talking about. But the bulbs are $$$$$$$$$$

you can try nail polish remover to take off the spray on tint. The only thing is it may eat the plastic a little if you are not careful making the plastic hazey/foggy. then you have to buff it.. etc. Lot-O work

If i were you i would probably leave it and see what happens. I started tinting the tails on my G6 ( only have the 3rd light in the trunk done) I have enough to do one tail and not the other... but even if it's too dark.... no biggie.

I love that race track it is on... 12.1miles of pure fun.... god lol

In forza2 it takes me about 10mins to complete, I do all my car tuning on that track, if it cant handle well on that track, it wont be good anywhere else...

Well I'm slowly learning all the features that the Dashhawk has to offer... I also messed around with the datalogger stuff that you can download into the computer... This is just a "test" run for me. I also did a 0-60 run.. but i messed up and erased it by accident... oh well theres always tomorrow.

I'm gonna go get a diagnostic on my car soon, I have a gut feeling something is wrong with my car... I've been saying this a while but I really want to get it checked before my car explodes :p

I had a dream I blew a gasket... that's good enough for me lol

new injectors installed, fixed the majority of the misfiring... still slightly misfiring.. grrr... car runs ok in idle.. once I put it in reverse to get out... it did a slight chug, then we let it sit in reverse w/ the brake on and it died eventually...

so we put it in neutral and parked it. everything was done right, new upper plenum gaskets, there wasnt too much to take off to get to it, just eh on the tq specs on the fuel rail placing, they were snug but not tight

I did another run tonight on the data logger screen. My next task with the data logger is to change the parameters and do a run. The white box you are asking aboue Xi is only the data line that i had stopped on when i was doing a save. I did find a place to somewhat mount it. I put it on the driverside by the fog light switch. I just shoved the metal plate into the space in the dash put the velcro on it and i'm done. Plus it makes it easier for me to move if i don't like it there. I've been finding myself staring at the gauge more then the road... yes you can image what i've done already... Ooops!:uhoh: Tape mount for a radar.... I've always hated that. My fav place for mounting my radar is above my rear view mirror... it's the perfect place. I wanted to put my gauge up there as well but the wire is not long enough... well i'm off to bed for some sleep... before i go into hell...I mean the hotel for work... :lol:

get a picture of all that before you even start.. and have an extra $50 handy because the CASE learn is mandatory... unless that shop guy you know can do that for you on a scanner... other wise the dealer might charge you... I had to play $40, if you do have to pay make sure it's w/ a card, so its not like money on the side deal.. that'd be lame :gay:

I did 0-60 in 7.24 seconds. Stupid me let up on the throttle. halfway down the road. To top this all off I think i deleted the data as well. :banghead: So i guess I may have to take a "lunch break" and try it out a few more times... :naughty:

yea its still a black grand am with stickers on the headlights and pontiac decal lol... STILL it has the SC/T front (wooopie?) lol jk :grinno:

I like the flat black paint job on the top and valve covers... thats something I'd liek to do mine even tho my car is bluee lol :iceslolan

maybe get the blue threaded covers for the hoses lol, over stainless steel braided hoses muahaha :rolleyes:

na I doubt Ill have my GA that long to even decide to paint it w/ that high temp paint lol... still nice tho, I'd sand off the letters on top to a nice shine :naughty:

you have the GTP right? I'd do a custom cat-back exhaust if possible... that or buy a bolt up cat-back for way more... they have some fabbed by this one guy but idk what it's called, it was an 'ok' price, people say it sounds good too (g6performance.com)

I've been cheating kinda on my forza2 game lol.. I need money lol sooo I've been hiring this spanish driver who only takes 55% of my winnings, his record to start with is bad but hes an underdog just from watching him race lol.. he takes it slow till his tires warm up ... then vrrooom.. hes passing everybody and in the end he is over lapping 3rd place lol... the race total is 120,000cr but I only get 88k something.. my cobalt ss has rare parts on it, the game gives you money for rarity lol... so I get an extra 43k lol... Well it's confirmed... I managed to delete the 0-60 i did this morning. I will do another run tomorrow morning on my way to work... yet again. Unfortunetly I will not be able to post a pic of the 0-60 at the moment since my laptop decided to die AGAIN. Friggen expensize paper weight! :banghead:

There's an upsetting g/a at my job... some guy who works at the hotel owns it.. It's a Red 96-98 G/a SE, with a 3 GT rims, 1 pop on spinner hubcap, a cambells soup can exhaust.. that is crooked, so that it's not in the groove where the exhaust goes but to the right close to the license plate and yes it's up against the bumper... :screwy: Actually thinking about there's a similiar G/P there like that, with miss matching rims, a hood thats dented in the most odd place, and the front bumper that looks like someone cut part of it off... Hmmm. Well I guess it's good to know i own the best Pontiac at my job! YAY!

Well it's confirmed... I managed to delete the 0-60 i did this morning. I will do another run tomorrow morning on my way to work... yet again. Unfortunetly I will not be able to post a pic of the 0-60 at the moment since my laptop decided to die AGAIN. Friggen expensize paper weight! :banghead:

There's an upsetting g/a at my job... some guy who works at the hotel owns it.. It's a Red 96-98 G/a SE, with a 3 GT rims, 1 pop on spinner hubcap, a cambells soup can exhaust.. that is crooked, so that it's not in the groove where the exhaust goes but to the right close to the license plate and yes it's up against the bumper... :screwy: Actually thinking about there's a similiar G/P there like that, with miss matching rims, a hood thats dented in the most odd place, and the front bumper that looks like someone cut part of it off... Hmmm. Well I guess it's good to know i own the best Pontiac at my job! YAY!

I see/work on lots o cars, most are new'r and things go smooth then you have these mixmatched cars with things looking a little off.
And as soon as I get some POS in there, I know its going to be a long day :disappoin

so I got my injectors (3 & 4) replaced.. I know I should of done all of them but I dont have the money... I havent yet checked the spark plugs and i'm pretty sure my wires are not the problem.. BUT

I'm still havin some misfiring... cant even get it over 60mph, not sure what cycl.... is there any injector controller sort of piece?

my engine light is on, but I already know its random misfire...

I might ask my dad to see if he can help me out... I seem to be in a gutter right now, no money, owe the bank overcharge fees, no car, no job... Hmm

I think tomorrow Ima try and check the plugs, see if everything looks good... XI, opinion on E3 spark plugs?

Gir check all those injector wires, and make sure that the ground straps are tight. THe injector wires can get small cracks which short and cause simular issues.
Same with all the wires around the intake, gets mighty hott in there.

I warned all my friends last night when the tornadoes went straight for my home town (tornado warning up in Granger... they were heading for Granger, South Bend, Mishawaka, Osceola... the places all my friends)... so I had incentive to help all my friends :p I went to sleep right as they were going for Rensselaer though :p
