You gotta pay the bills somehow! However I'd prefer the straight bar first.... And it's not high on my list of thing i would want to do... I'm not quite talented in the dancing department and I really don't want to try to squeeze into anything that looks like dental floss..... However vipey you got the moves...... there's a way to get that new car...:naughty:

er wow.... I test drove the GTI yesterday morning half awake/hung over lol and it was amazing. talked with the guy about monthly payments and whtat a good down payment would be on the car... sorta what I pieced together 4500-7000 plus my car as a trade in PLUS, my mom's credit and co-sign, since it'll be my first car under my name.... and working for it for the next 5-6yrs...

anyways, the guy was nice enough to bring up the most expensive model on the lot.... leather seats, automatic dsg trans, sunroof, and sat. navigation in the dash.... was a 4 door but still

handling is great, as well brakes (4disc), very touchy lol.... turbo is niiice, there was only slight turbo lag but other than that its quick.... It is now on my priority list, something that I am going to actually plan on saving for while I drive the GA around till it dies... I know its prob going to be soon, sorta gut feeling on it... just hope it stays alive for another year or something... No more hard driving lol, gotta do an oil change this upcoming weekend also.... AND pay the cable bill...

so far working at my new job ive made a little bit over $1000 so far and I have given about $800 away for bills and such to help out my mother... ugh (ie $200 cell phone bill)

Im thinkin about purchasing a badass wireless card w/ a moveable attena so I can pickup some of the neighbors internet hehe

but yea, basically whats up in my world lol... its been getting quite colder here at night... the cai is lovin it lol

xeroinfinity
10-14-2007, 02:26 PM
GTI's are neat little cars, but not for my tall ass!!
I bet with a CAI and some tuning the turbo lag will disappear :D

It would almost be better to just save the cash or barrow from a bank , intrest rates would probly be lower too.. just a thought.

Yeah bills suck, welcome to the real world!

A wireless card with the antenii works very well for that ;)

Speaking of the real world, its been down right chilly here the last week. High in the 50's low 60's and low 40s at night. I sure am glad to have the SE up and running again.
The GT is fun but what a dogg!

Planing on getting my 89 firechicken out of storage and move it up here to my place.
Just wont be driving it in snow or rain!

Its way more fun to drive then either of the V6's :grinyes:

grfnkl

Cool Gir... I'm glad to hear that your like the GTI. It looks like a fun little car. For insurance reason it's cheaper to have a 4 door versus a two door. Or in my case they put the car as a four dour when it is a two door to lower my rates! :grinyes: I will agree with XI it's cheaper to go through a bank for the loan on the car... you'll get better rates. When i buy the car i take the dealers loan through there bank then i refinance about a week or two later.. and get a cheaper rate. Plus my insurance company does it for me.
For wireless if you house is close enough to your neighbors you could pick up their signal. I know I do! :naughty:

Well on to my life... Well I didn't get my apology from the owner.... HOWEVER, he did admit that what he yelled at me about... he was wrong. So that partially made my day... otherwise it was a sucky day as usual. Tomorrow is my interview for yet another job. we'll see what happens again! On friday I'm taking a long weekend and going down to Puerto Rico to visit my girl! I already told her I want to chill on the beach! :grinyes:
The weather got cold here too! AHHHH I hate it! 30's-40's at night and 50-60's during the day. Not my choice in weather. I have to charge up the battery in my girls car.... the cold nights killed it. Considering I drove it around less then a week ago... now it wont start..:shakehead

well I'm off to take a shower....Im a little grungy after doing some yard work

btw, just took a ride in one of our automotive club members' STI's... HOLY BALLS IS IT AWESOME!!!

He's got some nice little mods too so it's 0-60 in the 4's and under 13 seconds in the quarter...

We took a speed limit 15 mph turn at like 55... i thought I was gonna die, the car handled like a charm. I had no idea cars were capable of that kind of ridiculous force in a turn... I've been on few rollercoasters that can even match that beast... holy @#$ IT WAS AWESOME! I want an STI but I will NEVER be able to afford one :( WRX instead for me I guess.

Good Luck with the interview grfnkl, I know they can suck.
Presentation is about 90% of getting the job or not,
the other 10% is if youre a felon or not.
They get discounts for those peoples.

Yeah Vipey STI's are cute :grinno:
As with all those tiny cars, they wieght nothing and thier center of gravity is low.

Heck either of my GAs(with a strutbar)could do a 15mph curve at 50-60... with little or no sliding

... because that's how I roll! :evillol:

I've seen several tails with the smoke tint for pretty cheap.
The only drawback is they all the aftermarket tails they have leak issues, and need siliconed, which you've probly seen in thier PFYC ad's.

LEDs I'm not even sure about those....
I had swapped out my tail light bulbs with those LED replacements bulbs and they did not work when I used the turn signal , but worked when I hit the brakes. :screwy:

I like thier 6 paragraph disclaimer

grfnkl
10-16-2007, 09:31 PM
I never saw those LED tails until today. I still like the stock tails the best for the grand am. I don't really like the stock tails on the g6 though. I want to either black out my tails or if they ever make aftermarket look into that.. and just deal with seal issues. For the LED lights I tried some on the 6 and I had a hard time to get them to work... so i just went back to the stock bulbs....

So among my playing around today at work I was flipping through some vids. I saw this one but couldn't turn on sound... so i just played it now with sound, This is one caddy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cGAcujMQLM) i wouldn't want to mess with... unless I'm behind the wheel! :eek7: Gah damn! It gave me the chills...

Gir-_-
10-16-2007, 11:07 PM
niiice caddy...!!!

yea XI, bank would be the way to go in this case... with a co-sign from my mother since I have no credit period lol... I was thinking of still saving money now to just throw it on top of the bank for when it is signed.... my goal is for next Feb of 08 to grab one...

at the moment, stealing internet from across the street I believe lol... bought myself a badass little antenna that hooks into a pci card I installed... 3 coaxal cables, 3 antenna setup sorta thing... Just sat it on top of my computer... picked up 6 networks... and lucky me, the best one is not protected lol... runs only slightly slower than actual cable... but its all good, I dont plan on downloading anytime soon lol

I need help!! I just bought a 99 grand am for my son w/ 91k mi. After driving for awhile, starts to smoke really bad from engine. (3.4) Temp. is fine, & I know no one can actually answer this for me, I just wondered if these cars were known for any type of problem like this. Cant quite tell if it`s pwr. str. fluid or oil but it`s all over the back & shoots up towards top.(gets on alt. wires, etc.)Just cnnot locate where its coming from! Thanks for any info if anyone has any!

Yeah Gir After you pay the loan off your credit will get established, gotta start somehow these days.

Whats better then free cable, free internet :D

grfnkl
10-17-2007, 08:42 PM
Hey gir, it takes time to build that credit... and it takes a long time to rebuild it if you screw it up! :iceslolan The best way to start though is use your parents... providing it's good which most of the time it is.

What's better then free internet.... FREE MONEY! Wohoo :naughty:

Hey has anyone seen the new Malibu (http://www.chevrolet.com/malibu)? I looked at it on the web... not bad! a huge improvement of what it used to be... even over the new model.

Gir-_-
10-17-2007, 10:03 PM
er wow, the malibu looks pretty nice... for a malibu lol

yea I figured even tho Im getting a co-sign thru a bank next year.. I thought it'd be best to save money anyways... just in case ;)

top of that idea is to buy performance parts for the GTI once I get it lol, and right below it is to help pay off the car! lol... going to save at least $1800 for JUST performance, that can get me a tune and full exhaust of which are very expensive from APR... but with it comes the quality and functionality...

I dont remember if I mentioned before... with their eprom or w/e system I can go back/forth from stock settings to their stageII tune with just a few button clicks on the steering wheel

Definetly save the money while you can... cause once those car payments start coming you'll need it. I even saved a nice chunk of change to mod the G/a when i had it... unfortunetly I wasn't able to use much for mods... it all started going towards being able to drive it ( payments, insurance...etc)

I don't think you mentioned the eprom for the GTI, but i have seen it on the speed channel. It may have been one of those project tune shows... or something...but i do recall seeing it on TV.

When was that skit by Justin on SNL vipey? I havn't watched SNL in like 5 years. and when i do turn it on i don't recognize any of the cast. I'll take a look on Youtube and see if someone posted it out there.

No more data entry for me, that job sucked either way and wasnt worth 9/hr. I hope the next person they get sucks completely at typing.
I got there this morning and the guy in charge of our department is like, you need to get in contact with so-n-so, I say... Ok?. But she's busy, and so the manager told me there that the Temp service wants me else where working for them. Problem is, I'm so north of Austin and all of their jobs are Mid-Austin based... so far to drive! ...even with toll roads, takes forever.

Sorry to hear that Gir.... maybe it was for the best after all though. I'm sure something will come along better eventually. Well For me I didn't get that job i went on the interview with like last week... bostards (b@stards). I'm just getting very bitter about this job thing. yesterday i was sooo hoping that i was being given my notice..... I would have been sooo happy! let me tell you. :iceslolan... my mission is to find something ANYTHING... or anyone that will freakin hire me already... gah damn! :banghead: Sorry... I veared off subject....

I don't remember what you are or will be going to school for... what about a temporary retail job... The hours aren't always that bad... and sometimes the pay can be good... and I'm sure there is something closer to your home. Well good luck either way.

Also submitted resume to a few temp agency places today, found out that my local cable company (time warner) is also hiring for customer support / as well is AT&T is also hiring for tech support.

It looks like I'm not going to be able to get away from call center work since I stuck with that last job for so long lol... I have the experiece, I just hate it lol... tho $10-$13/hr range isnt bad for my errr broke situation lol.

Hey guys, so I saw a customized grand am this morning... it's actually kind f rare for me to see one on the road. It wasn't anything great to even speak of... but since I'm bored at work and trying to make it look like I'm doing something I'm writing this post... :grinyes: Anyways... the G/A I saw was black except the nose of it which was white with flames on the hood in white :greddy2: ... it was OK... I think it had tinted windows too... but the stock exhaust was falling off it... and nothing else great to see. I just kind of laughed... and felt bad for the car as well. :disappoin

Now I'm off to find something else to do to make it look like I'm busy.... :runaround:

I will be doing product support of some sort with Apple co. (IPhones, Ipods, anything that starts with I and is made by Apple :dunno:) on stuff like post sale items like... I recieved the item damaged or w/e.

Its whatever for now, It doesnt 'sound' to hard but 11/hr is hard to come by in my area with no college. BUT! It's better than 9/hr and I can save up for the GTI much quicker now with some reasonable budgeting :naughty:

Well since thiers no fords, I'd have to say any GP or GTP.
Even Sunfires are easily modded.
Trans Ams, Cameros/firebirds.....

The chrysler 300's or a new charger, Stealths, Conquests .
Those Avengers(a rebodied Mitsubishi Eclipse) are pretty sharp too.
I worked on one last week and they are fun. :evillol:
Here's an 2008 model, which is AWD. :smokin:

On the imports you have Talons, and everyones fav Honda

Why you lookin for a different option to the GTI ??

Just looking at my options... locally I found I could get a boxter s for only 15K... sorta thought.. Hmm... rather than new car, high insurance

what about the good cars from the late 90's? 98 supra, 2004 STi, and so on... so far I've found most older good cars with only 40-90k miles, good condition... and some cars pre-modded...

not that I dont want the GTI, Im just thinking if I have second options...

Is it possible to get a car loan from a bank and use it for a non-dealership buy?

I finally figured out my decisions on cars.... but i too had more then 3 to list.

I would go with either a GA or GP to start... I would also say a Chevy Beretta Z26 or GTZ. The obvious Camaros / trans am/firebird. I would say dodge avenger or stealth. Maybe a civic as well as long as it doesn't get too ricey. Maybe a Nissan Sentra SE-R or a Maxima.

If i could include other years older then 96 but not older then 80 that are not listed above but would be included.... I would say an AWD talon the older style with the flip headlights... I've always like them, the older 3000gt's and supras. Don't ask why one this one but a 88-91 bonneville ssei, Dodge Daytona Turbo Z ( the best in the movie The Wraith) Buick Grand National or Olds Cutlass 442.

Good thinking Gir to come up with a back up plan. But if you want the GTI you'll make it work somehow.

Buick Grand National or Olds Cutlass 442 ... thats BIG money!!
I had a Grand National back in the late 80's with a blown engine. Rebuilt and sold to buy a 70 challenger, good investment move! :D

Though Supras are realy nice and a blast to drive. Since you live in Texas thiers probley several around that are in great shape.
I had 95' it was rusty, though the 3.0-liter dual-cam inline 6-cylinder engine with twin turbochargers was 320 hp and was supra quick. A real ticket getter!

I broke the rear half shafts so many times it wasnt funny.
Sold it before I killed myself. Hard to find around here any more, and cost you an arm and a leg to get one.

Yeah thiers probly 1000's of cars to choose out your way Gir, lucky b#$@@$ !! :banghead:

Yes Big money... but fun to drive! :naughty: My bro-in-laws friends had a Grand national with a bad tranny at my bro-in-laws house it was beat up but still I would have loved to gotten my hands on it. It would have been worth the money since it was still pretty solid over all.. just some light body work and a tranny and little things here and there needed ( more cosmetic then anything)

To find a supra, 3000gt, or celica for that matter of those years in good condition are near impossible from what I've seen. They are either trashed or rusted through. That's one of the things I will be looking for in PR. There are a lot of Supras and Celica GTs the older ones running around in decent shape... maybe just maybe I'll be able to get my hands on one. Then I'll ship it back to the states... hahahahah and sell it for more money! :grinyes:
