People will put just about anything on craigslist. I did find a funny ad in the paper for a salesperson for cheese either for business or personal, You needed to have expertise in cheese as well. I know the basics does that count?!:naughty:
Nice new montior there XI! It's BIG! lots of skulls on that desktop! :uhoh:
well i think I'm reliving my title as crash again... today i sort of misjudged going around an SUV at a traffic light and sort of smacked into his brake light with my side mirror. :banghead: no damage thankfully. I apologized to the guy, he pretty much yelled at me, then we drove off. considering it's been almost 3 years since my last accident... JEEZ, almost 3 years ago was my last accident... where did the time go?

Yeah I went down to Lafayette fridaynight, in the snow storm, and that Best Buy was out and said they'd have more in on Tue.
SO sunday sale came out and they were on sale for $280(i think) so I called them and they said they was out of stock and wasnt restocking them :wtf:
Thats false advertisment IMO. So the only store that had just '1' was in Avon IN, called them and they held it untill I got there, one hellava drive clear down by Indy , but worth it. :grinyes:
I could do two monitors but this is taking some getting used to. I have to turn my head more then normal. Damn its big!
:uhoh: been busy the last couple weeks, kinda sucks!

Well I had some free time today and I decided to do the LED conversion on the GT.
It went prety well, though I'm not happy with the brightness, might have to try a different ressitor.
I put this thread together in the N-Body Appearance/Non-Performance subforum for the bulb change in the buttons, let me know if something doesnt look right ? ? ! :D
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=5661762#post5661762
I'll try and post the LED stuff tomorrow, with the lovely resistor-ohm laws formula I used to get the right resistors... what a headache! :banghead:

I'd switch it up with blue LEDs if possible.. er well, *it is* .. I have pics somewhere of that one guy with all those LEDs in his GAGT with the custom fog lights
the grand am is officially my beater car now, as long as its working fine, I can change up anything now interior wise

my car is really dying fast lol...
2 weeks ago i filled my coolant. Low Coolant light went on today. DEFINITELY lower intake manifold gasket :( Going in tomorrow to get it fixed, and getting the intake manifolds ported and polished while im at it (under $100 to do which includes matching the gasket to the ported manifolds!!!), and the labor/part replacement will only be $420 bucks! Add the cost of port and polishing tho.... but still, that's $300 cheaper than the Pontiac dealer here in town! God, CJM is awesome :)
Oh, and he's doing an overnight install of a roll cage and a supercharger onto a brand new Mustang GT. What a badass.
Oh and I might get an impreza STI... parents might actually let me get one!!!! hopefully I don't get myself killed LOL :uhoh:
If I can't afford an STI CJM will custom install a turbokit onto my grand am for around a grand :D :D :D

Its not that difficult to switch out to LEDs. Figuring which resistor is the trick and I'll give all the info, so one would just need to cut , solder, and go. Ok maybe not that fast. :D
I had problems with my LEDs, the pass side was brighter then the drivers side. SO I found 1 lower volt LED(1.5v) for the window and this yello one for the lock, its TO bright! Easily fixed though, I forgot this white piece that goes on top of the light(under the button).
Looks good tho!
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/xeroinfinity/11X17RW24/DSC00075.jpg
The hardest part is getting the drivers window button apart to access the bulb. :grinyes:
Might be the weekend before I get it all up, darn weather's turning to snow, hard telling what we'll get this round might keep me busy.

hmm lookin good!
i wonder when auto makers still stop putting bulbs int he cars and just go all out with LEDs that'll almost NEVER DIE!
pfyc.com has those gauge 194 LEDs that do a pretty decent job, I'm using an extra blue one I have in my shifter console with my custom white face blue lit shift face... nice and bright, hard to tell during the day tho but....
thinkin about it, ive only posted a few pics of my grand am and that was when I first got it... now its a different beat up beast lol... with all the dents and scratches from my high school parking lot 2 years ago, plus just random things that've gone wrong since on the outside as well inside
im just glad that Ive gotten the windows to stay up, even tho.. right after I got the car, all the windows just fell apart one by one
edit: if I attempted the LED method, I'd go for something like this...

Gir: yeah they are putting more LED's in cars then they used to. The 6's interior is almost all LED's from what I know. Before you know it they'll make LED headlights as standards on luxury cars before they get to us of course.

Yeah Vipey that is a swet deal !
On those LEDs Gir that wouldnt be to difficult.
You just need to remove that(gray) coating on the buttons(they are clear plastic) and sand them smoth llike I did my HVAC knobs.
Then the LED color would shine through.
I'll try and get that all posted this week end, been to busy around here! :uhoh:
A lot of newr cars use LEDs they are cheap and last forever, they dont use as much power either.

dont know if any of you know about birds lol, ive had my pet cockatiel since I was in 3rd grade hes about 13yrs old or so.. where we went wrong with him was getting him a mirror when he was really young, sorta fell in love with himself. His own personality is "grumpy" with or without the mirror lol to simply put it. Now hes just pissed off, Tryin to see how he acts without the mirror, even though hes had one for a while. He even sleeps by it cause its his comfort zone...
he never likes really getting out of his cage cause its his safe spot to be, he knows it lol. I put up a question on yahoo answers cause theres weird people there that might know, but im just trying to find out how I could possibly break the habit and/or get him to lighten up.
in some cases, ive heard that when you get a pet bird... you dont choose the bird, it chooses you lol, he likes me for the most part but hes always been a pain in the A$$!!
any ideas? lol

Nope !
It is the part above that, the plastic overlay.
I scraped part of the red/orange stuff off and used some blu film I had to cover the inside.
The orange dot is the fog switch light, that is a LED but it uses the 12v power, about $8-12 to replace that one.

Yeah Vipey its about an 8 hr job, if you hav done as many as I hav you get a little faster, 5-6hrs. Not something you want to rushed tho... big money if they screw up your valve train or push rods. :yikes: lol
At least public transport is cheap on gas. :D
Took the GT's upper intake off yest. had a "O" ring on an injector leaking fuel.
Thought I'd port the opening to accomidate a larger TB.
PFYC doesnt sell them for the 3.4 anymore, Z-spec has them, but theyre canadians, and our money isnt worth poop up there, so I'm going to machine one myself!!
Got a MAF sensor apart to ream that out also.
I see a busy week ahead of me :D

I still have my RSM TB! :D, later on this year when I get rid of the GA ill be posting paypal links if anyone here would like to purchase it used for a reasonalbly cheap price... Id guess $75 or so would be a decent start. I thought about selling my Dr. Speed cold air intake also as well, and stick a crappy short ram on there from auto zone... also sell my gauge harness pod and the gauges along with it for cheap... but thats alll in the future
for now, sorta my new project i get to put no money into but I def get to do the work! woohoo! ... my girl's dad got her today a 1988 Acura Legend with a v6 .. looks alright, runs ok, manual stick shift... almost 246k miles on it!... *ew ... and he got it for $800 flat, I really hate how the guy is ubar cheap!... left front fender is banged up, needs to be replaced, the hood is bent due to the fender being bent.. and the plastic front bumper needs to be replaced... sunroof has a leak and the list goes on.... its still 'a car' just with a list of issues to go with it... all fixable though
as for the engine, I was looking up PCV replacement and cleaning, how to adjust the idle, and some other stuff that came in the haynes manual lol, neat car, has some pep to it, has a weapon-r short ram intake on it, and everything else stock, no synthetic fluids.... yet grrr
i plan doin the seafoam inject thru PCV... since I located it.. I popped the hose off and just looked at the inlet of the valve cover that goes into some chamber that leads to the pcv valve... it looks dark and slimy in there thats for sure lol... overall the engine is pretty dirty/dusty .. mainly cause the hood is eff'd up and is sorta open on the right side (i really hope the thing doesnt fling open while driving :( ), I talked with my guy, and hes gonna help me look it over, and inspect all the necessity's needed for a tune up/clean... the Alternator is new, looks spankin new.. clutch feels fine, no slippage at all for such an older car
it was fun driving it today, havent driven a manual in so long

Not bad gir. $800 for an 88 acura with 200k+ miles.... i guess it's a good deal. Does the car any rust on it? I figure with the age it would be pretty bad in a few spots like around the sunroof and the rear wheel wells. Alot of hondas and acuras are prone to rust on those areas. I wasn't expecting see it's a manny tranny. does she know how to drive a manual? Well at least you have a side project for yourself now... :grinyes:

only rust I could find was from the bent left front fender, hopefully her dad will address the fender/hood/bumper issue... it doesnt look like a normal car hit or a simple back up, looks more like a pole on the side :screwy: no idea
the sunroof does leak, hopefully I can get em to take care of that also as well by getting it sealed up, its really just a temp car for 2 or so years while she attends her schooling for cosmetology.. the main main focus is the engine and tranny of coarse, as long as its running, thats all he cares about mostly so she can get from home -> school and back
she does NOT lol know how drive a manual... but hey, its good to know at least and she'll be taught how
last night the parents pimped out her ride with autozone stuff... doesnt look half bad now... betty boop stuff all over the interior being covered, betty boop floor mats lol, and a keychain thing to go along with it... we managed to knock out the hippie smoker smell that was lurking in there, we took out the old fluffy seat covers covered with w/e .. the original seats in the car are torn and ripped to crap so, seat covers help.. the foam is still ok, just the leather has cracked and w/e... the rear seat is covered too by a universal cover... I still cant find out how to put the seats down! need to find it so we can tuck the rear seat cover more, then close it
I wiped it up with armorall and a rag all in the interior to spruce it up a bit, everything in there is either plastic or leather
edit: just saw... ive almost been on AF for almost 3 years this coming Sept.. hmm.
only rust I could find was from the bent left front fender, hopefully her dad will address the fender/hood/bumper issue... it doesnt look like a normal car hit or a simple back up, looks more like a pole on the side :screwy: no idea
the sunroof does leak, hopefully I can get em to take care of that also as well by getting it sealed up, its really just a temp car for 2 or so years while she attends her schooling for cosmetology.. the main main focus is the engine and tranny of coarse, as long as its running, thats all he cares about mostly so she can get from home -> school and back
she does NOT lol know how drive a manual... but hey, its good to know at least and she'll be taught how
last night the parents pimped out her ride with autozone stuff... doesnt look half bad now... betty boop stuff all over the interior being covered, betty boop floor mats lol, and a keychain thing to go along with it... we managed to knock out the hippie smoker smell that was lurking in there, we took out the old fluffy seat covers covered with w/e .. the original seats in the car are torn and ripped to crap so, seat covers help.. the foam is still ok, just the leather has cracked and w/e... the rear seat is covered too by a universal cover... I still cant find out how to put the seats down! need to find it so we can tuck the rear seat cover more, then close it

milzy has been doin a little work, he has a ported 60mm TB for sale $150, not bad not bad... along with solid cam shafts, and his future upgrades are going to be a 6spd 3.4, 3800 SC engine swap made easy and some other stuff...
worth the look at the page, makes me wanna buy more stuff since the engine work from milzy is what I'd need at least to further progress my GA, that 6spd may be something I'd look into, cause then you may be able to find clutch replacement and flywheels of which, im sure would be able to handle any high power output on a GA
And!
Notice anything different? :D $40.00 isnt bad at all for that

Yeah Gir I was checking his stuff out a week or so ago and he is working on some good stuff, finally! :D
I like his removal of the TB tube on the heater tube. Was thinking of something like that for mine, just havnt had time.....
Well I might be pulling the motor for the SE.
When I ditched it last, I guess it damaged the reluctor ring in the crank pulley and has been hitting the CPS sensor repeatedly over the past few months :disappoin
Was thinking my crank may be bent, thats what would make me pullit. :banghead:
And of coarse I'll sink way to mich money into the thing. Might as well and rebuild it all with forged pistons.
daytona3_8 glad to hear you are still around and makin PC's, it is always fun. :grinno:

Got my car back... misfiring like crazy! He didn't have his laptop to tune it yesterday so he told me to drive it around a few days and expect misfires, and once the computer gets used to it and once i make sure that no fluid is leaking, he'll tune the car Saturday morning to make it run correctly.
Would the fact that my car suddenly has much better air flow make my shifting strange? I think my computer is all confused and doesn't really know where to shift at the moment... will tuning fix this?
I'll at least find out Saturday :)
Oh and yeah, it DEFINITELY has some more balls now. When I gun it, it doesn't misfire, but i CERTAINLY notice a difference :D :D :D :D :D :D
Oh, and I hit a pothole so large that Tremors could appear out of it... i seriously thought i bent the f@#$ing frame of my car on that thing, they closed it off an hour later and did road construction the next day it was so bad... but yeah, I swear it f@#$ed my car up. When I turn my wheel to the right, I hear a really loud creaking noise. This is WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR BACK FROM CJM MOTORSPORTS... figures I fix one thing then screw up another... I'll be asking him about that too.
But yeah, the rim seems fine I think... I have no idea how my car survived it. Other cars were probably breaking axles on that thing, it was by FAR the worst pothole i've ever hit in my life. I even clanked my teeth together from it :uhoh:
Oh, one more thing... this weekend, I'm replacing my reverse lights (they are broken), putting in my Angel Eye foglights (one foglight is out so i'm replacing them with sexiness), putting my subwoofer back in and mounting it down (I miss my low bass), and installing the rear strut bar with help from my dad since I don't have the necessary parts here to install it (I need certain nuts and washers I don't have but he probably does). Gonna be a good day, provided my car isn't broken.
Oh yeah, and I got to fire up an 800hp Trans Am at CJM... MY GOD WAS IT LOUD! He built a 1300hp supra for a guy too, but I didn't get to hear that one :(
PEACE OUT! sleep time :)

wheeee! My list for working on my Grand Am this weekend:
1) Build amp rack, mount amps to trunk, mount subwoofer to its box and mount it to trunk so it STOPS SLIDING AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE AND BREAKING SH!T
2) Replace reverse lights and get the bulbs working
3) Add Angel Eye fog lights
4) Install rear strut bar (FINALLY) if I can get the damn things over the bolts in the back!
Gonna take a couple of days to do all that shit ;)
