thinking about getting TB ported and polished... but so many things are going wrong with my car now that I don't really want to put any big investments in... I'm completely baffled at all the problems that are suddenly popping up on the stupid thing :(

speaking of problems vipey... I now have to completely fix my front passenger window... hope my discount with the stealership will help me out

I was just thinking the GT needs some new speakers in back ! :grinyes: Thinking some Pioneers, but something that'll be able to handle upgrades in the future. These look like they'll fit.

I took out the old 6x9 out of the top and mounted the new 6x9 in the trunk. Easier to remove when the car goes. Btw the weather here has been gorgeous it has been in the mid 70's and no humidty.

i needed to make custom baffles to fit my 6x9's into my trunk because the magnet was too big. Yes I used to have speakers in the front but I took them out and put speakers in kick panels in the floor... I'll show pictures later of it... might me on my cardomain webpage in my signature...
But yeah I'll need to make custom baffles to put circular ones in there... gotta get a sawzall or something.

Isn't there a plastic adapter plate to go from 6 x 9 to 6 1/2 round. If I recall correctly I think that I saw a plate like this, it was a yellow plastic I think.
xeroinfinity

the doors hav 5x6 POS with a big plastic part that bolts to the door. Same with the rear they have an adapter plate that holds the 6x9 from below. Should be pics of these in the Apearance non performance section.
My SE had to go in from the top because of the big magnet(s). To big of magnets in the doors will get hit by your window when you roll it down. lol

i have a set of pioneer in the front/rear .. right sizes... the rear is a 5-way blue cone.. I forget the model # .... 3-way speakers in the front.. those fit nicely in, the rear speakers are bulky and make the screen in the back poke up at a certain point... I said screw it at the time and just left it.. good enough for me..

40 MPG on the highway would be awesome and very easily doable in the GT. The best i ever got on my gt was 33 MPG and that was me doing 74ish on the highway If i went a little slower Im sure I could have seen even higher. The 26 in the city is pretty impressive though I do have to admit.

Was waiting on finding some 2" drop springs but thats not going to happen, no one makes them that low. :( Air ride is the next option... :dunno:

Well th GT has a new top end, new plugs/wires, new O2 sensors. The SE is pretty much new too. I've kept them under 2000 rpms.... thats the hard part and probly the key trick. On highways I dont go over 75 mph, the gas seems to go faster when going faster then 75.
I also try and clean my fuel system once a year via the shradder valve on the fuel rail, keeps those misfires at bay.
Now the SE can drop drasticly if I'm leadfootin it! It can get as low as 16-18mpg in the city from jack rabbit starts and racing ricers from light to light. lol

Yeah GP's have a bigger tank, either 18 or 22 gallon, depending on year/model.
And gas prices are lower here, been 3.65-3.70 for reg, but I burn premium these days, still under $4. A few weeks ago I was paying 4.75 for premium. :(

The gas prices are definetly out of hand. I think the last time i got gas back in the beginning of the month, i found the cheapest i could find at 3.97 and I would only put 20-40 dollars worth in. I couldn't afford anymore then that. I miss the days where gas was 89 cents for regular! I think the last time the tank was filled up on the car was back in May and 50+ something dollars later I was broke! What would kill me for gas was living in the area i did. Constant NJ traffic! It sucked! No matter where you turn you sit in traffic or at another traffic light eating up your MPG. Then in true nature i would get frustrated, so at the next open area of road you floor it eating up more MPG. My only regret to trading in my GT was the gas mileage since that car got some damn good mileage. The g6 gtp drank gas like it was water.

I am surprised to hear that. I just took my mom's G6 to Florida and I couldn't beleive the gas mileage I got. It took me a couple hundred dollars less than I thought it would to get down there and back! I was getting 34.8mpg driving through Alabama, I couldn't have been any happier!

Any GTP usualy doesnt get to good of MPG, IMO that's from hot roding it. :ylsuper:
I just filled up at lunch, figured this round mpg- I only got 25.5 mpg(280 miles/11 gals) though its been realy hot and humid here, seems to eat the gas more. :dunno:

Your mom probably doesn't have the 3.9L GTP like i did. THe best i ever got on the highway with that car was just barely 27mpg. Most of the time I only saw about 24-25 on the highway, 20.5 mixed driving and 15 in the city.

If it wasnt transverse mounted it would be a better/funner car to drive. But I guess then you could call it a sister GTO.

My wife works for BNSF rail road, she got stuck out on the rails last night. They lost all power, the towers were black, all the trains were on a complete stop, the backup generators were toast. The generators never came up. The Burger king, long john silvers, taco smell, KFC, McDonald's, and Dunkin donuts that are around me are black, they all have no power. Comed reported that there was 245,000 customers with out power.

190k miles is realy good guys ! :grinyes:
My SE is almost at 200k and seems to be running rather well of late. Probly time for something new to break...
You must of had a long drive to work or just cruised alot grfnkl, 30k a year is kinda high.
I think the average per american is around 12k miles. I have several vehicles so mine get spread around.
So grfnkl you're in PR now ? I guess they'd have or not have jobs just as up here. I know a couple people that work 2 full time jobs and still strugle to make it from week to week, that would suck !
Yeah its almost Friday !

Yeah I'm finally living in PR. I moved here finally on July 22nd. So Almost a month of me living here. Jobs here are much like up there. Few... and the ones that do exsist are specialized fields or in my case require to be bilingual. So it'll take some time before i get a job.
When i bought my g6 it already had 30K miles on it. A year and a half later I put an additional 30K on it. :iceslolan All those miles are a combo of driving to work 50miles a day, side trips, and cruising around. It adds up quickly!
