SERIOUSLY OT: Calling all chicks! IT'S PART 6!!

I decided. I decided.

TheSilentChamber

I decided.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:31 AM
I decided. I decided. I decided. I decided. I decided.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:32 AM
Don't touch kid, sleep with the lights on.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:33 AM
To.

I made the executive order.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:33 AM
I made the executive order of:

FUCK THE HAND THAT FEEDS!

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:35 AM
Basically this little pip of expression had a few thousand people. A few hundred players. And a few Major Players.

I was a Major Player.

TheSilentChamber

After dozens of articles on modding, water cooling, and pretty much the very first hard drive window modding, I grew to heights never achieved before in my life.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:38 AM
I hated it all. I hated being a nobody and a somebody at the same time. I loved free merch, hated that I was still no one out to the outside world.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:39 AM
One night. Decided to make an exit.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:40 AM
Coincidentally, I knew a few people who were in the same position. All respected, all hated, all in the same epidemic time frame of our lives.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:41 AM
At this point, I should clarify that I am not a hacker. I have no abilities as far as accessing information that was not intended for my viewing.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:41 AM
I was clever, though.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:43 AM
This was the early days of forums on the internet, HTML posting and such was routine. There was no Vbullintin boards, no html blocking, no anything. Good ol' forums post ICQ era.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:44 AM
One night. One night I made the call. That call was the premeditation of what would land me in my first lawsuit.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:44 AM
Now remember, this is the days before internet security laws. Internet was the wild west, anything goes. If you get jacked- oh fucking well.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:47 AM
Well, along the lines I had discovered a code that would basically replicate the forums within itself. So wen you clicked on a thread topic it would load infinity. Big spoiler in the days when bandwidth actually mattered.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:48 AM
Said night: Don't remember the date.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:48 AM
I corresponded with all available parties. And a strike was commissioned.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:50 AM
unanimously we started posting said code to every thread within the forum. Meaning anytime anyone went to load any thread on the first few pages of the forum it would indefinatly replicate itself within itself indefinably.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:51 AM
I was up what seemed like days as mayhem ensued. I think I skipped a few days of school to watch this all unfold, mass chaos soon ensued, some posts made it through, others just got lost in the bogged down system using all of its bandwidth.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:53 AM
I can't recall weather these days were good, bad, thrilling, or exciting. I'm guessing based on my track record that they were exciting based with a little bit of bad. There was no shielding of who had done this. I was blatantly guilty. No disguising it.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:55 AM
At this point, I would like to toss out some respect to the real hackers of the day. People who actually knew what they were doing, and not just punks like myself exploiting security protocols.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:56 AM
Within hours, a forum and website with thousands of devoted followers was brought down to its knees.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:56 AM
Not being a total asshole, I actually provided admin with the information they needed to restore service. All advice was ignored. Outages lasted weeks.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:57 AM
All landed on a deaf ear.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:58 AM
Now, being young I did not fully realize the consequences of what I had done.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 02:59 AM
I was named as "mastermind" of all the chaos that had happened in this attack. While not a hacker, I was labeled one. I was not a pro, but I got thrown into the game with the wolves.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:01 AM
In the following months, I grew up very quickly, as I was a defendant in an insueing lawsuit. This would not be the first.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:02 AM
While early in my high school career, I was tied up in a lawsuit for bringing down a very predominate internet forum, site, and associated attributes.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:03 AM
For me? This was the early days. This was before may of the laws that are in place today. White the site was an American operated site, it was hosted overseas. Meaning I [eventually] got off Scott free.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:04 AM
Being smart, I retied. I decided that while I had a passion for this, it would not lead to good in my current state. Up and left everything related to computers. - As advised.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:05 AM
So, first major blip avoided; mostly by luck.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:17 AM
The second of my legal troubles would follow.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:18 AM
Remember the days of ebay? Not the ebay we we know it today, but the early days of internet auctions.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:18 AM
Well following the days of the computer modding I discovers internet auctions.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:19 AM
Don't get me wrong, I was not set out to rip off people. At all.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:22 AM
While not "mastermind"ing this, I quickly discovered that people were selling Electric Turbo/Superchargers. What they were selling were bilge pumps, what I could manufacture was a 12v fan in a piece of PCV pipe. Enter second lawsuit before I was even 18 years old.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:24 AM
seeing these 'electric turbos' sell for upwards of $150 I wanted in on the action. My first order I purchased a few hundred 12v computer fans, and 10 feet of 3" pcv pipe from the local hardware store. Made a few thousand dollars in the weeks following.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:25 AM
In fact, I made so much that the person that owns the patent on the electronic supercharger noticed.....

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:26 AM
Within a few weeks and less than $100 invested, I had made thousands.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:27 AM
At this point I am served with a Cease and Desist order. As well as a lawsuit for patent infringement.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:28 AM
I was a Sophomore in high school, in DECA/marketing class (the class you have to take in order to get a Job and be released from school early every day to go work). We had to give a presentation on information we had learned from real world economics that we would not have learned in class.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:31 AM
I gave a speech on copy wright infringement, and summed up a very light insight on how I was currently being sued for $14,000 because I stole someones design- because I could manufacture it cheaper and more efficiently.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:31 AM
I got an A-.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:33 AM
Eventually settled out of court and the suit was dropped. Liquidated the rest of my stock, paid off the owner of the patent, and still walked away with a few grand in my pocket. Worth it? Who knows.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:36 AM
The way I see it, everybody has a vice whether or not they realize it. At least you know yours and know when you're spending too much for your own liking. In that article they told me was written for me, the guy talks about how he stopped cause weed is addictive to 1 of 6 teenagers. I think its more like 1 in 6 decide its for them while the other 5 move on to try other things to take their mind of the shitty parts of life.

Shitty parts- all parts. I have a good jobs, but hate everything about my life....

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:37 AM
So there I am. Not even "legal" yet I've already been the subject of two lawsuits.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:39 AM
Nobody gives a shit, no mercy for me.

I enter my adult life as feeling jaded. No money, no skills, no abilites to get the girls I longed for.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:40 AM
To this day I feel jaded. There are may thrilling things out there that I have no experienced, no doubt.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:42 AM
Jaded? Why not? What exciting things can be thrown at me that I have no dealt with already? Growing up without a father? Check. Growing up feeling awkward? check. Growing up without anyone. Never connecting, Never getting the whole relationship thing. Never having anyone in your life? Check. I moved over 3,000 miles to get away from everyone I knew. I still don't feel like I've escaped. There is no escape.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 03:43 AM
I design million of dollars worth of jewelry annually, and I am still no one. Why not bring down the establishment?

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 04:29 AM
wow, that took an odd turn.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 04:49 AM
I think I have a habit of getting drunkish and telling long drawn out stories post by post on AF.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 04:58 AM
On number 17 of that 18 pack I picked up around 8:30pm. That actually only works out to about 3 an hour.

Shameful.

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 04:59 AM
What kind of self respecting man only drinks 3 beers an hour?

TheSilentChamber
01-05-2014, 04:59 AM
