Silencers (and the possesion thereof) in a state that has declared them illegal is a felony.

Most weapons that ppl think are "illegal" CAN be legally owned in the US, provided two things: 1: they're not fully automatic, or capable of being switched into full auto. 2: The maximum number of rounds carried IN the weapon at any one time does not exceed your states maximum for said load.

For instance, I've been an owner of both a re-bored (9mm) M14A3, and a solid bore AK47, which still uses the standard US issue .273 mag round, and each gun currently supports only 5 rounds in their clips, respectively, although there is a 30 rd clip for each one, that's blocked to 5 only. (Legal in PA, check your state before attempting.) Both are legally registered, marked, inspected, and serialled for use during hunting and/or for defensive purposes. Everything is covered as far as legality.

Basically, if your state says that you can't have a clip that supports more than 15 rounds in a semi-auto weapon, you can't have a 16 round clip, else you've just commited a felony... (most weapons-related charges are felonies, from what I know.)

we went on a mission this weekend. 6hrs down to stockton and back in the same day to pick up an ITR front end in black. why? remember we picked up a friend's GSR with ITR front end conversion with Mugen bumper? he told us he'd trade the JDM Mugen bumper & Mugen side skirts (both badged) if we could find a stock JDM ITR front bumper to match his black GSR. crazy enough Jer found a guy selling a black front end.

so now our 01 ITR is getting converted to JDM front end with the Mugen stuff + toda header + tanabe exhaust

Incidentally, has anyone EVER seen a 4g without a dent in the right side fender? I havent, its like it was built into the car, not one car ive seen in the yard has had a good RIGHT fender.

Shit... my car has a BIG dent in the right fender. So bad in fact I gotta get a new one! That's just weird though that most 4GEN Civics have dented Right fenders. I wonder what makes that happen?!?!

Pic comming soon (Hint: It looks like someone drove into it at full power on a lawn tractor)

the dents in the right fender would probably be because the average person that drives honda's is 16, thinks they've got a performance car on their hands, and has the (allbeit retarded) need or penchance to "get their lean on" so they can't actually see anything to the right of them, or if they can, it's not in clean view... thus causing them to hit things on the right, but allowing a clear enough view of the left to circumvent any available hazards.

^^^My Stupid Explanation of Right Fender Damage... A+ material right there. :D

Weird. My crx had the dent on the driver side fender. I guess I was the only one who sat up straight. Then again, I was in my late twenties-early thirties driving that POS...

The wife wants to keep the VW and finally ditch the steelies for new wheels and tires (nearing 200k) :shakehead At least she likes the BorbetType CAs I picked out. At this point, I think mods are a waste and would only depreciate the value of the car.

After the Jeep is paid for (within a year), I am considering purchasing another car... I'm thinking about a Stone White SRT-4 with mods. Wife's nephew is Dodge tech and if he can work on it then I will save a shit ton of money in labor if something messes up. I like the Sartie because I want a toy... ie. weekend warrior. And they're so abundant. Couple things I don't really like about it, manual windows in rear doors (great if you crash your car in a lake and have to get out ), 70/30 front/rear weight distribution (I want a car that can handle as well as hold its own) and that ugly ass wing on the back (which would probably be removed). Another option I was considering was the last gen Toyota Celica GT-S but they are few and far between. But I like the idea of a 2500lb car that makes 180hp stock (VVTL-i). The only thing I don't like about it is the speedometer barely even moves to get to US speed limits... Another option is the 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT 5-speed. They're basically a WRX only classier looking except the rear end looks like the last gen camry which looks like total ass IMO. A WRX would be a nice option too I guess, maybe. Finally, I'm considering an Acura RXS-S, but again the speedometer would be at like 120 at vertical position... Haha. Realistically, I'll probably quit my job, sell the jeep and buy a 20 year old Honda Civic....

Haha good explanation, but for some reason all the dents ive seen couldnt be caused by hitting things like poles and suck, its usually a dent high up on the fender..maybe people are stupid and lean on the fender when they work on it. I did that to my already dented fender once, dont lean with your knees! These things are like tin foil.

Hey guys.... I just painted my Valve cover with 5 coats of Dupli-Color High Heat Red, and I was wondering if it was safe to 'cook' (cure) it in the oven if there is still oil residue on the other side of the cover.

300°F for 2 hours.

I don't want to run upstairs a half hour later with the smoke alarm going off and the whole house smelling of burning oil. (Even worst, could it catch fire?)

Also, when would be the best time to cook it? When still tacky or when dry?

We were just replacing the engine, because some jackass beat on the stock one; it was knocking and blowing smoke. A few days ago we bolted the engine in; which took like 3 freaking hours because of the way we were doing it. We were lowering the car onto the engine, instead of hoisting the engine down into the car. But we had the engine/transmission on a diy wood pallet engine stand (wooden box that it rested on). Everytime we got one side lined up, the other wouldn't budge because the corners of the engine stand thing kept hitting the crossmember. So we tried cutting the corners off, then we tried adding wood to make sure the engine was more level, then that added wood was hitting too. One big freaking headache that should have taken us 20 minutes. Did I mention that we were both high when we were doing it? haha. But yesterday the tensioner was being a pain in the ass, and chunks of it ended up breaking right off; so that was a 40 minute job that should have taken 5 minutes. I accidentally put the turbo manifold studs into the intake manifold side (we were high again, big surprise), so we had to take those out and put the bolts in. The wiring harness was a complete mess, because at least 2 different people took out wires and spliced in wires to it, so that took time to figure out. Then one of the turbo manifold studs were being a pain, and it took forever to get the nuts on the ones that were under the manifold. It's just one of those cars where nothing seems to go right, and it's taking far more time that it should.

Well.. I'd never try to put a car ON an engine... lol.. unless I was just putting a body on a frame that already had an engine on it..

the rest of the stuff is quite typical to happen when you're limited for time.

And my quote: "If you're too time-limited to do it right the first time, you won't have time to do it over again either."

CivicSpoon
10-21-2007, 02:04 PM
haha you smartass. I mean that the car was on the lift, we raised it up, positioned the engine directly below the big hole in the engine bay, and lowered the car down. But there's plenty of time to get the car done, the owner is down in Texas right now (we're in NY), I was just hoping that we could get more done than we did. I'm just glad we didn't have to put another clutch line in, that is a SERIOUS pain in the ass, and a horrible design from Mitsu.

Christ
10-21-2007, 02:27 PM
I still maintain that I would never try to lower a car over an engine.. even tho I was being a smart ass before.. I'm not now... it just doesn't seem that easy to me.. lol

I'm a big fan of easy, which is why most of the engine mounts in my car have pins in them instead of bolts. the threaded "nut" portion has been hacked off, and there are pins in place of the bolts that should be there, w/ a shear pin in the other end of it, just to keep it in place... before we install the pins, we compress the whole mount to 140 PSI, then the shear just barely fits into the hole w/o touching the mount, then release the pressure, and it's held... TIGHT. Never had a problem w/ it, and don't intend to change it.

So listen to this one guys, your gonna love it.

My car got impounded thursday, reason: I got arrested. Reason?: I was at a junkyard trying to pull a turbo and my dumbass friend chucks a std manifold over the fence while im not looking...

So the owner is a dick and also impounds my car to the tune of 300 bucks..the tow company is literally 30ft across the street.

I get out fri night and am told that the impound is closed and I cant get it till monday..but I call today and they say theyll come out and meet me.

Heres the fun part. I get into the car and start it up. I immediately throw a CEL and am like wtf?! So I took a video of the ligth and where I was at. Its a code 8 and ive dealt with that before on my crx. So I drive it up to the front of the yard and on my way I try to turn my stereo on...nothing, now im not happy.

I went into the office and told the girl "weve got a big problem" and she comes outside where I start the car...walk around to the hood and pop it, walk back around and it dies....and it dies..and now it wont fucking start.

I get under the dash to replace the fuse and it blows IMMEDIATELY. I reset the ecu and the car starts up..runs for about 5 sec, throws a code..then shuts off about 5 sec later.

Needless to say, im pissed. What insight might you guys have? Legal or otherwise? I think it was the jackass junkyard owner. But ill be happy to point a finger at anyone who had possession of my car for any period of time. Since ive never had a CEL before, ever. And my stereo ran fine when I pulled up to the junkyard on thurs. My friend (my "accomplice") was with me and can back me up that the car ran great.
