Damn that's crazy. I know a guy who met him at an auto show, said he was a major egotistical asshole. From the tv show, it seemed to be believable.
Something else died today though... my bag of "stuff" :( It was too wet just sitting in it's bag, and I forgot about it for a week. If I wasn't sober, I wouldn't have even realized it was moldy. Smells perfectly fine, and the mold looks like bigger milky white trichomes (tiny mushroom shaped "crystals"). This is the 2nd time I've ever done this, and both times have been within the past 6 months. Guess if I was still a pothead, I wouldn't have to worry because it'd all be gone before it molded.

So A week after putting my front knuckles on my front tires are dead. I went for an alignment today and when they put it on the rack my speculation was confirmed. The left hub is totally shot. It has nearly 1/2" of play in all directions, up down left and right..it looks like the wheel is going to fall right off. Also my right tie rod is a little worn. So now im ordering new tires (woot theyre on sale for 68 ea.) and going to the junkyard to hope that the one integra they had a month ago is still there.

<3 tools. My little metric single socket set from ace finally died when I stood on the ratchet for the 50th time, and then the lid disappeared and slowly I started losing sockets. So I did it right this time. Spent 150 on this bad boy.
It has 1/4 6 pt, 3/8 12 and 6 pt, and 3/8 deep, and 1/2" as well. All in metric and sae, with a set of combo wrenches also.

I also bought two new front tires since I thrashed mine driving on them. It also turns out the the right lower balljoint nut was only on by about 3 threads because I had used an impact gun late at night and it hit rough threads.. when I put a ratchet on the the wheel literally just wiggled around.

Yeah. I spent a good amount of time on my ass. There were a LOT of little kids out there skiing and any time I saw one in my path I'd either fall down trying to adjust or just fall intentionally to avoid the possibility of me running them over. A 180 lb man running into a 50 lb kid would not be good for anybody. Then there were times where I just fell out of pure rookieness.
The hardest part about it all was getting off the ski lift.... I was ungraceful to say the least :disappoin I definitely wanna go back though. But that shit is expensive. $89 for rental/lift fees

After two semi out of control runs, I realized the directional control starts in the hips and transfers to the legs. My front foot was always getting away from me at first cause I was only using my back foot to try and control like a boat rudder. All I accomplised doing that was to get a REALLY tired right calf.
Once I got my hips to control my feet, I tried to learn to control my speed but it ws really icy on the slope yesterday so stopping was hard to do. The best brake I found was my ass. I could definitely benefit from a lesson by someone who really knows what they're doing. All I had was my friend who's been only 3 times before and she's almost as bad as me.

So I had reverse kharma happen to me.
Thursday, leaving work, I helped a woman at work who had a flat tire (slow leak). I took the time to pump up the tire with a bicycle pump. Then I go home and feel good that I did a good deed.
Friday, I come home from work and me and the mrs. go get some take out Japanese food and head back to the house. I turn into the middle of the highway to make my left and a tow strap hook embeds itself in my tire. I made it home (just through a couples subdivisions). But that really sucked!
I knew I needed new tires anyway, but this wasn't exactly the sign I needed. Maybe a couple hundred dollar bills laying on the pavement would've been a nice sign  So anyway, I get up first thing Saturday on my anniversary to plug a tire. The tire took 3 plugs and was filled with air (from the bicycle pump) and back on the Jeep... done in less than 30 minutes. Maybe I should do this for some extra cash at the local tire place.
The Jeep made it no problem through downtown, up the freeway and to Discount Tire, where I purchased 4 new BFG All terrain tires :ylsuper: I haggled my way to getting them for $114 a piece but also got the lifetime free replacement warranty if anything happens to them which put a nice big dent in my cc. Oh shell...

My other rear tire had been plugged for about a month now. It was just a screw but it was actually more difficult to plug. When the tire has no air in it, plugging is really easy.
I'd say I got my $15 worth for the Walmart tire plug kit and $7 bicycle pump
I definitely need some better jackstands and a better floor jack though. I don't trust the jack stands because they don't lock in place so great. The floor jack is 2.25 ton but it's puny and barely gets the Jeep off the ground from the axle in the rear. Too bad I just got my Anniversary, early b-day gift and when hell freezes over gift too...
Somebody want a nice VW Passat????... runs great and gets 31mpg hwy. For the price of fixing what needs to be fixing it would be a great car to have. But my wife is the original owner and wants something else. Actually she wants the Jeep and I want an EP3

sorry guys, i've been MIA for a little over a week....and what a crazy week it was. it started with chess regionals feb 23rd, the weekend before last. then on tues our plumbing backed up. called the plumber and our vintage house doesn't have a clean out. they had to drill a hole in the side of the house and drill a temp hole in the pipes to clean it out for $95. they have to come out and actually install a clean out in that spot sometime in the near future for $350. at this time my brother calls and says he's moving back to cali. he asks if he can store some stuff at my house. next thing i know everything is at my house because he decides he needs to stay at my house 2 days before he bounces out. okay, whatever...i have too much going on to care it looks like a tornado hit my house with his stuff. thurs rolls around and our gas heater starts making crazy noise. jer takes it apart to find a bearing went out in the blower. call around and find out since it's hella old good luck sorcing parts. we have to bounce out on fri for Vic's DI regionals. i go to do dishes and the kitchen sink backs up :banghead:
we leave and when we come back on sat night it's 40 in the house. we hid out in our rooms with the electric heaters for the night. the next day jer decides its sun and we're not waiting for monday to hear the bad news there were no parts found. long story short....jer fixed the blower with the old Legend pilot bearing we took out when we replaced the clutch :ylsuper:
now let me back up to chess regionals. remember the boy she lost to at MLK. it was her only loss and he was undefeated for the day. she ended up having to face him in round 2 at regionals. she beat him. then the kid's dad (who was the coach for that team) threw a fit trying to say our coach came over and told his kid he was going to lose causing his kid to be discouraged and lose. they tried to force a rematch. the other coaches got together and voted no rematch so that kid's dad packed up the team and left. talk about sore losers!!! our team ended up having the most wins and for the first time since 1995 our team is going to state!!! Vic is one of the 4 kids on the team going.
then they had DI regionals this past weekend where they again are advancing to state.
okay....so there it was. my insanity in a nutshell.

So I found a great DA in the yard, still has EVERYTHING..its practically untouched, so I took the rear sway, and lower control arms..im thinking about pulling the whole rear disc setup and selling it. Also it still has the b18 in it..but I dunno if I wanan go pulling an engine in a junkyard where the cars sit on the ground and you have to fidn a spare tire jack to lift the damn thing.
Im going back tomorrow or wed. to get the front sways and the knuckle I need to replace cause the one I used has a bad bearing... Oh and my tires came today, dear god. update... today 3/4/08 The car needs a new engine wiring hardness. it has a short between the ecu and the ignitor. the ecu does not sense the crank spinning, and does not supply spark to fire up. i could jump the wire, but that would look like shit.
The swap and all Gs-R parts related, were taken from a salvaged car from an insurance auction 4 years ago it had 64,XXX on the odometer. i would have the title to show mileage but it was required by the company, as proof of ownership, in order to junk the car.

I've been up since 3:40 and worked 13 hours but all in all today was a kick ass day. And if anyone follows the NFL then they know what was the icing on the cake today for me :ylsuper:

Now that is a good deal blu. Just needs AC.. I have a feeling he may be a retard and it just needs a new dizzy, or maybe the wire really is bad, either way if this is the case its an easy fix.

call and pick his brain. find out what they tried & didn't try to come up with the solution of a new harness....report back to us and then we'll tell you what is really wrong, how to really fix it, and how much it will actually cost.

That's a nice si. If you do pick it up, be sure to put peanut butter on the moldings and front lip. It did wonders for Frodo's car.
And no, I'm not giving away the VW. It's for sale... $3800 obo.

I don't contest that your paint may be shot, but I lived in FL from 2001-07 and my car got dirty on a regular basis. I absolutely HATE the pollen in Talahassee. There are few things more frustrating than to wash your beautiful blue car and ten minutes later see a hazy green film form on your paint.

Ah well, except for a brief period that will be coming up soon, no pollen around here unless you park under a pine tree lol.
