Yeah man..some of the crappiest times ever were in the rain in the summer in the rex.. man. And if I was wet also, then it got downright steamy. Sucking off the little vent like a snorkle in the worst rain ive ever seen with the windshield fogging and its dark...and I had to crack the window a bit, but still got soaked because it was raining so hard.

Im going to run braided lines for all of my a/c stuff real soon. Friend of mine works for a supplier of the stuff and gets it all at cost. They do all kinds of fittings and like 6 different types of line including shielded ac lines, which is one reason r134 sucks in our cars. The lines arent shielded and the stuff will seep through the hoses over time.
Plus, Ive noticed especially since I have a header with no heat shield now just how damn hot the ac lines get. I burned my hand on one just by not running the ac on a trip. That cant be good for efficiency.

Dude the conv kit is like 30 bucks at autozone lol. Unless they are actually converting your evaporator and such. In which case woot for you. you wont have to worry about sucky air.
On a side note. I have a friend with about 30ft of extra ehader wrap, I think im gonna use it on mine for two reasons...1. to cover the nasty ebayness, and also to reduce ambient heat in the engine bay. The damn thing will literally glow.

Im pretty sure my radius arms has come loose, could feel the wheel clicking back and forth on and off the throttle last night. I noticed the bolts were loose when I dropped the tranny last and totally forgot to crank them down.

To check your A/C: if it's the compressor, it's probably the clutch, so you turn the button on, then check to see if the middle section of the pulley is spinning.. if it's not, it's the clutch and/or wiring. (Or the A/C system is discharged, you can check this w/ a recharge kit, or a pressure gauge w/ adaptors for the end.)
If the pulley spins, and no cold air, obviously, it's in need of a coolant charge, or a system cleaning (highly unlikely that it needs to be cleaned)
I finally got around to looking at my A/C today. I'm not sure what you mean by "middle section". Do you mean from looking at the top of the compressor or looking at it from the side? I took this little video, but it's not too clear:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aANBiiWprTo
The part that the belt runs on moves fine. Not sure if to the left of the belt is a different part or if it's still part of the pulley (I've honestly never payed attention to a compressor before when taking them off a car), but it's definitely moving. I also noticed that the A/C fan is not moving at all. Is that normal if something else is messed up, or is it likely a wiring or relay issue? If it's likely a wiring &/or a wiring issue, I'll get my volt meter thingy out tomorrow and check the plug and relay (per the helms service manual).

Well spoon. that sounds like a wiring issue sir. When you hit the ac all of the fans should come on by default. Also when they are talking about the middle section of the ac compressor, it means the center of the pulley area looking at it from the side. Also the piece that isnt rotating just to the right of the compressor in the video will kick to the left up against the pulley and will begin to rotate as well.

if you really want black, and you want supreme protection from corrosion, etc... get 'em sandblasted, then find a machine shop that does black nitride.
I promise, you'll never have to worry about it chipping or peeling, and unless you bang it on a curb or something, you won't have to have them re-dipped.

is your complaint that you are hungry or that you are a bus mechanic?
maybe 2-3 yrs ago we drove down to Lodi, CA and bought a CRX for a friend and brought it home. Years later it's been passed to a couple of kids and now the last owner traded it to us for the turbo off the orange civic, a set of GSR wheels a friend gave us, and a skunk2 exhaust somebody else gave us that was chopped up.
now don't get all excited. the crx is primer. it does have a b18 and a welded in traction bar. everything else cool or not welded down was taken off the car thru the various owners.

So I am totally fascinated by super pocket bikes right now. I want one so bad. A guy up in tampa has one registered and is riding it on the roads! Screw the scooters I was looking at buying. for about 500 bucks I could go faster, look cooler and get some awesome looks from people on the road.
Plus theres a HUGE aftermarket for these models of bikes, including relatively cheap engine upgrades to 150cc+(big bore kits up to 188).
Plus about 100mpg and the initial price tag makes my mouth water.
They are like half the size of a real bike so they arent like trying to fit your body on the top of a bar stool lol. And have full blinkers, gear indicators, xenon headlights and electric key start.
S300 unit...or mini sport bike, I cant decide.

I spent most of the night looking at videos and im totally hooked. I found plenty of sites and forums with how to on registering in Fl etc etc..and I totally want to do like a 160cc swap on one of them. Those things ride OUT. theyll actually pull up in first gear without trying.
Screw a damn scooter. Even sport bikers will give you a thumbs up on one of these. And I can only IMAGINE the curious girls who will wanna talk to you at lights...plus, your eye level :P
on the gas mileage part. It only has like a half gallon tank, but that gets it at least 40+ miles!
